May you explain when you rotated the bike wheel, you said the gravity will push it to fall down. May you explain what is the relation between the gravity and a mechanical in this case the gyroscope? appreciated.
Hi James, thank you for your comment. You are correct where spinning a gyro doesn’t inherently identify that the earth is spinning, but the practical application of using the gyro may have errors because the earth is rotating. When the gyro spins and the rigidity in space principle takes effect, the gyro doesn’t have a spatial reference linked to the earth. The function of the gyro in both heading indicator and attitude indicator is to act as a specific reference to measure the deflection of the aircraft during flight around an axis. With the heading indicator specifically, the challenge is that the gyro has no spatial reference to magnetic north and therefore as magnetic north moves relative to the gyro the heading indicator could continue to accurately measure the deflection of the airplane around its vertical axis, but those readings wouldn’t reference magnetic north because the gyro is no longer representing that specific geographic direction. We hope this helps, and please reach out if you have any questions or further comments! Thank you!
I'm a CFI, and I still struggle with this, By far the best and simplest explanation so far!
Agreed 👍🏽
By far the best demonstration of precession I’ve seen. You explained it really well
Thank you, we're glad you found it useful!
So helpful! Thank you!
Hi, thanks for the comment! We're glad you found this helpful and if you ever run into any questions, feel free to reach out!
This guy deserves more views. Great content.
The way you explained precession is a real game changer! Thank you for this video, you got a new sub!
We're glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for subscribing
It is one of the best videos about the gyro I have seen. Thank you!!!
We're glad you found it useful! Thanks for commenting
That was Extremely helpful thanks a lot for explaining how it relates to the instruments
glad you enjoyed it. thank you so much for the comment.
excellent
Dude… great demonstration.. very creative 😊
Great video. The best practical demonstration for Gyro. Thanks a lot!
Thank you, Anand! We're glad you liked it
Thank you so much for this explanation!
why didn't my instructors just say what you said, 3 years of aviation only now i understand how gyros actually work. Thank you
We're glad you liked the video! At AeroGuard our goal is to set a Higher Standard for flight training.
Thank you. This is easy to understand
Does precession in a Cessna 172 cause left or right turning tendencies?
May you explain when you rotated the bike wheel, you said the gravity will push it to fall down. May you explain what is the relation between the gravity and a mechanical in this case the gyroscope? appreciated.
Great explanations.
Does the attitude indicator stay level with the earths curvature?
Yes, the attitude indicator shows the aircraft orientation relative to the horizon, including the earths curvature. Thanks
Great sir
Thank you🔥
Plz make some videos about navigation flight computer
We have a number of videos on the E6B Flight Computer - check out our 'Tutorials' Playlist.
That's a useful information
Really appreciate the way you explained ! Thanks for making me understand easily about gyro ..
Flippen cool

I hate gyroscopes 😠 Had my first class today about them and it was awful 😣 I’m here trying to see if it’s easier to understand
Sorry to hear that, Filipa! Hopefully this video was able to help you
Lol he’s learning as he’s explaining
