- Andrea McArdle, Broadway's original Annie, returns to the musical as Miss Hannigan in "Annie" at the North Carolina Theatre. This is "Easy Street" featuring Joey Calveri as Rooster and Dana Zihlman Harshaw as Lily.
Watch as this legendary performer returns to the show that made her a star!
whats amazing is that andrea's voice hasn't changed really since she was twelve
I would take a trip to NYC just for the purpose of seeing Andrea in that role!
She’s still an amazing talent. Rooster & Lily were great too. Loved it!
Great song from a great musical. I would love to play Rooster.
Does everyone out there know that Andrea McArdle is starring as Miss Hannigan in California at Musical Theatre West Long Beach? It's October 29-November 14.
God, she's awesome as Hannigan
Andrea McArdle is good but to me "Miss Hannagan" will always be the great late Dorothy Loudon. RIP "Miss Hannagan"
Rooster was terrific.
This would be a great performance,--if you had never seen Dorothy Loudon do it. But she did. There is only one Dorothy, no matter what she did, and it's almost unfair to compare, especially for the Hannigan role.
LOVE how Andrea plays Hannigan!
It's nice to hear a Miss Hannigan that can sing the shit out of this song!
Omg that's so cool I live in NC
Amazing
Love how Andrea plays Hanigan
The 2012 Broadway revival will be an all new production (not a transfer) so all casting, including Miss Hannigan, is still TBA. :)
This was a surprise I'm from the UK and I knew who Andrea is but doing this part surprised me it's rare for someone from the original cast to play another character in the same musical the only other time I know of is Glyins Johns and A Little Night Music. Thanks again for uploading.
And Denis quilley in sweeney todd
So this comment is six years old, but... Roger Bart and Brad Oscar played several different characters throughout the lifetime of the Producers.
Its not the same, but i like how Betty Buckley went from gym-teacher in the movie "Carrie" into the mother in the 1988 musical Carrie
Chita Rivera in the orginal Chicago, Ruthie Henshall and Bebe Neuwirth in the revival
Is this the production that is transferring to Broadway in 2012, cuz I would love to see Andrea as Miss Hannigan on Broadway.
@76sherie this was in raleigh Nc
July 2010
An uninspired, monochromatic performance. Night after night, McArdle watched Loudon master this role, yet she herself plays it with the same stiff affect she brings to all her stage roles. A great voice isn't enough--you need to know how to USE it. The role of Annie was a custom-fit for Andrea McArdle; unfortunately, nobody can be Annie forever!
When is this from? She looks young
How can people say Andrea's voice still sounds like shes 12. What kinda scary ass 12 year olds do you know lol!
Her voice hasn't matured at all. She still sounds like Annie!! I can't hear her playing Miss Hannigan. It's like Annie pretending to be Hannigan. If her voice had deepened and matured then i can see her playing the role. Also, she still looks young and unmatronly for the role.
@TheBohemianTenor
wow. she'd be perfect for that. ahah
Um...I'm sorry but--she still sounds like she could be Annie--and Carol Burnett was better.
