The James and coop video was a change of pace some thing different that’s for sure! But loved It! 🤘🏻
The upward curve on those pistons makes me go straight to high temps causing the piston ring gap to close and bind. Seen that a few times. Had a piece of ring leave a 90 thousandth dent in the cylinder wall as it bound up and made room to leave the cylinder the hard way. Up into the combustion chamber, hammer the valve, seat, and shear the turbo shaft in two on its way out the tail pipe.
My thoughts exactly, timing too high and probably really lean!!!
If they didn't check the ring gap it will happen again.

You guys are talking crap on cooper, but In my opinion he is a huge part of this channel. I love his humor and just because he’s not some professional around cars doesn’t mean he doesn’t belong. I know the guy loves working on cars and being around them. The most positive people around me and my projects aren’t the ones that know cars but the ones that will lighten the mood and stick by your side. Cleet is the face but I know coop has just as big a part of this as james.

I was doing a balancer on a C6 last week (at a Mitsubishi dealer) with no installer tool and used the James method to get me by. Thanks James!

I remember when it was "just temporary" when the new intake went on. Now the intake would look like crap without it. It's permanent.

@Benny T sorta made me think they should of just kept chucking junkyard motors in, there's no point having blocks made and done by a company to have it blown or fucked up in some way in a few weeks.
It won't change now until they get a new intake. Maybe same folks that sent the intake Leroy uses will send one for Ruby and they can finally run the cable the right way.
Love the chemistry of James and Coop. James is so down to earth and Coop has this dry humour. It gives an insight of the team.

I used James’s Harmonic balancer install procedure three weeks ago while installing a new cam in my Silverado. It worked, but last weekend I had to pull the cover again and I could definitely see some burn damage on the seal. Wasn’t leaking any oil, at least not yet. I went with a new seal and used the proper tool to install it this time around.
Throttle cable still goes over the intake! 😂

You could reduce your top end back pressure by having a 45 off the turbo instead of a 90 and loose the tractor flap. With a 90 and a flap, the air is trying to push the flap closed.

I know that its a minor detail but for you guys chasing time i would suggest going to a solid rod throttle to eliminate any backlash in the cable when your launch could help blowing the tires off at the line or power loss from the cable stretching over time

My 91 4.3 truck idles at 15 - 20ish psi and rev it goes to around 40 on a cold day. I always thought something was wrong with it, but its been doing great for the last 8 years I've owned it, 860,000 miles on the clock, original engine. I been waiting for it to blow up so I can drop my 383 in it I bought 2 years ago, but that 4.3 dosn't have enough guts to kill its self lol.

I think Coop and James were great by themselves. Not saying I don't love cleetus equally, but typically Cooper and James aren't running the show in front of the camera. The guys didn't skip a beat. That being said, now we all expect more content because we know the QUALITY is possible with any of you. Keep up the great work team. I actually got my 62yr old dad to watch every video with me during covid days and even ask if new ones uploaded lol

Hey guys. Larry Trice put a turbo in the front passenger seat, took it to Pomona tech it ran a 7.49 in the quarter. Went back to the Pits the guy who Tect it came to our pit and said that he didn't even know it had a turbo under the Dog house in the front seat .What a weekend. Keep it up.
Who else remembers when the auction corvette wasnt gonna be a high dollar machine. And when that little LS motor popped, James,& Cleetus went to the boneyard to pull another. Yeah shes more reliable now, but who cant throw 10's of thousands of dollars at somen and get to go low 8's. 7 would be cool to see. Good luck at race week, I have faith Ruby will hold together now!
