Hi Lexi: Problem with the Chanel twist up liners is that the pencil lead does fall out on some. It is a gamble as whether you will get one that does that or not....very frustrating. UPDATE: Got the new Victoria Beckham highlighting pencil this morning. I like it very much...it is different than the "white" waterproof one from Chanel....more skin color than white but the product is smooth/creamy and applies easily. I also see this morning that on the Victoria Beckham site the newest Kahjal liners are finally back in stock....Olive and Sea Grey...so I ordered them right away. Never thought I would go back to a sharpening pencil eyeliner but when the Chanel leads kept falling out of the twist ups, I got discouraged and decided to try the Victoria Beckham Kahjals that I had heard so many positive things about. They really are nice and apply so smoothly. Yes, they have to be sharpened but what is more frustrating....sharpening a pencil or having the lead fall out and getting no where. Oh i need to try the VB! I was really hoping there would be free shipping this weekend. I love the olive and sea grey liners so i hope you will too. I personally prefer pencils i can sharpen over retractable ones because i like being able to get a fine point if i want but i hate the act of actually sharpening them so they sit in a “to be sharpened” pile for a while. 😂
@@LexiJong I know that feeling and hitting the "rough" edge when you grab that pencil and it has not been sharpened is eye opening! I got free shipping when I ordered the two kahjals this morning because it was over $50. I did pay $5 shipping for the new highlighting pencil just because I did not want to wait and miss out like I usually do. Speaking of which, going to order with Beatrice tomorrow the Lt. Ed. Suqqu eyeshadow palette #116 from the new Summer 2022 collection. Those colors are right up my alley. :)

Hi! It must’ve taken hours to prepare for this one! I was not really looking for eye pencils as I rarely remember to use them. However, (you made me use that “H” word!) I noticed how pretty your eyes look with eye pencil and now I think I should add pencil to my eye makeup routine. Contouring your eyes with eye pencil enhances their shape, which in turn, flatters your entire face. I like so many of the shades your swatched! I do have a latex allergy so I thank you for mentioning that it’s an ingredient in the liquid eyeliners. Great video! (As usual)

What an excellent comparison video Lexi!! I adore the Chanel Le Stylo in #88 Noir Intense. I do have two of the Ombre et Contour shades but I'll always go back to the Stylo. It lasts all day especially in the waterline!! 😉💓

Thanks Lexi for the comprehensive review. I primarily use the CHANEL Stylo Yeux liners and have purchased a few from Sisley and Chantecaille. I definitely don’t like any pulling around the eye area, and at 65, I’ve no intention of creating super Smokey looks for daytime wear. Less is definitely more. I try to avoid black - I stick to brown and purple the most and always blend. This video was super helpful. Just purchased Chantecaille Jasper to complement their Giraffe palette. I may need to do a decluttering of my liner collection. Xoxo 😎. Hope you had a great Mother’s Day too!
I found that the Crayons work best on my eyelid, the Stylo on the lower line and Kohl on my water line. It sucks to have three products when one would suffice, but there you have it.

I have been loving the DM multichrome liners as they look so pretty and stay such a long time on the eye. I loved the old Chanel Khol formula! I just don’t find them nearly as creamy now. Also, the liquid eyeliners are great - I have 3 shades. The Stylo ones don’t seem to produce any color in the waterline. The Antique Bronze is ok but the Espresso doesn’t have any color payoff for me.
It is such a shame that they changed this formula! I used to love it so much! I think the stylos in general are inconsistent. Some of the drier shades don't perform as well for me on the waterline either. Thank you for sharing!
Hi Lexi this video was very informative and helpful. I've been wanting to try the contour eyeliner but Chanel since I tried their waterproof last year which I love!!
I purchased the Victoria Beckham pencil when it first came out and while it was a nice, deep black, it smeared all over my face and eyes - a total mess, unfortunately. I also tried Chanel's waterproof Stylo Yeux which was so dry it barely left a line on my lid and it didn't go at all on my waterline. This is a terrific video, well done and thorough. I'm still looking for a blacker than black, soft pencil that won't budge.
I am not sure if they have a very black shade, but check out Sisley Phyto-Khol star liners. I think the new Guerlain, By Terry, and ESUM liners are all worth checking out as well.
@@LexiJong Thank you so much! Had the same smearing issue with the older By Terry pencil but haven't tried their newest one. That line is changing a lot. Her daughter took over and it seems they're trying to go vegan. Too bad, because the By Terry serums were wonderful. Their foundations are also superb!

If you try them, please let me know how they work for you. They remind me a lot of the Chantecaille pencils so if you have tried those, they are pretty close.
Good morning Lexi, Great review. I feel exactly the same way my favorite eyeliner of all time is still the Sisley for performance and they have the beautiful shades. I do like the Chanel compared to most other brands and the shades are beautiful but I have spent a fortune on eye pencils and never use them so I just stick with in "my opinion" the best Sisley. My fav Stylo et Contour is in Rouge Noir 😍 it is sooo beautiful! And as Chanel Stylo waterproof I love Brun Agape, Noir Intense and Eros, the best eyeliners for me!… and I never use blue or navy on my eyes🧐 do not like the look, maby just do not like blue shades in make up…Thank you for the video
I was very intrigued about these new crayons since they were out … thank you for the very informative video. Just from you swatching them we can immediately see which ones are drier 😵💫😅. My understanding is anything khôl ( Arabic word for the powder that is applied in the waterline )is meant to go inside the lash line, same goes for kajal which is khôl in Hindi 🤷🏻♀️. Now how a brand is going to execute this is a different story 🤨. Are you getting any of the jumbo bronzers? Any words about them from Jelissa? ❤️🌺🥰
I haven’t heard about them from Jelissa yet but I think the bronzers look pretty warm. I saw Tavia’s post on Instagram with the lightest shade and it seems like it might be too yellow for me so I will have to wait and see.

I know that this is an older video of yours but I bought the Stylo Contour Clair a month ago and when you mentioned they had a sharpener, in my head, I was like "OMG I did not know that, that's fantastic!" I went and grabbed my makeup bag, only to find out that in fact, it DID NOT have a built in sharpener. I was so heart broken. I guess they changed the packaging? Why do companies keep doing this😢
Really? Is there a seam on the end? I have one that is still fairly recent and it has a sharpener but you really need to pull the end off hard. I'm surprised that they would get rid of that functionality. That is disappointing.
@LexiJong No, the end doesn't have a seam. It's a continuous cylinder til the end. I checked Chanel's website, and although the first pic is a bit unclear, but the second photo shows that there is no seam at the bottom. I agree that it's quite disappointing 😞
Hi Lexi, great swatches and review! These look a bit meh and disappointing. I just have the bleu metal stylo yeux, happy with that one. Though the blue liquid liner looks like a beautiful cobalt blue which I love.

have a terrible time with product staying put on the waterline. would you say sisley is the best bet?
I think Sisley and Chantecaille are both pretty good on the waterline for me.
