CLIP DESCRIPTION:
The love of Harry's (Daniel Radcliffe) family and friends gives him the strength to reject Voldemort's (Ralph Fiennes) attempt at mind control.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
Young wizard-in-training Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe) returns to Hogwarts for his fifth year of studies, only to find that the magical community seems to be in a curious state of denial about his recent encounter with the sinister Lord Voldemort (Ralph Fiennes) in the fifth installment of the popular fantasy film series based on the best-selling books by author J.K. Rowling. Rumor has it that the dreaded Lord Voldemort has returned, but Minister for Magic Cornelius Fudge (Robert Hardy) isn't so sure what to make of all the hearsay currently floating around the campus of Hogwarts. Suspecting that Headmaster Albus Dumbledore (Michael Gambon) may be fueling the rumors regarding Voldemort's return in order to undermine his authority and lay claim to his job, Fudge entrusts newly arrived Defense Against the Dark Arts professor Dolores Umbridge (Imelda Staunton) with the task of tracking Dumbledore and keeping a protective watch over the nervous student body. The young wizards of Hogwarts will need something much more effective than Umbridge's Ministry-approved course in defensive magic if they are to truly succeed in the extraordinary battle that lies ahead, however, and when the administration fails to provide the students with the tools that they will need to defend Hogwarts against the fearsome powers of the Dark Arts, Hermione (Emma Watson), Ron (Rupert Grint), and Harry take it upon themselves to recruit a small group of students to form "Dumbledore's Army" in preparation for the ultimate supernatural showdown.

The part where he saw Ron and Hermione and he had all those good flashbacks of them was so chilling
Some Guy yeah
A tear ran down my eye so quickly
It was at this point that Voldemort knew to stop rooting around in Harry’s head
That tingle down the spine
It never gets old 😇

NO IT SENDS ME EVERY TIME I KNEW I COULDNT BE THE ONLY ONE
Extract from the book of this scene for those who haven't read it :) I love how Harry is holding his wand through the whole possession scene but for the first time it can't help him, it's an emotional battle rather than a magical one. Beautifully executed
Who's here after hearing Michael Gambon passed?
I'm trying not to tear up while watching this scene, how I can relate battling darkness and seeing Dumbledore console Harry in his darkest hour.
I think I'd give anything to hear that voice in my time of need when my war with evil is at its sorest.
This scene is my favorite of the series because it perfectly captures what the series is about love and friendship and getting through hardships
It`s funny how harrys friends react so little to him being on the floor like that almost near to death.
because they know they can’t help even thought they want to…. this was harry’s battle with himself as well as voldemort….
0:49 I died at this scene 😂😂
TAH

I think this scene captures what teen angst is.
I know it's really about Harry and Voldemort, but a lot of what's going on here can be interpreted as things you go through in puberty.
Maybe= vielleicht
That makes me uncomfortable
0:50 voldemort is like "BLAH" 😛
So brave Harry was, I only realise this how many years after the films ended. I think Order of the Phoenix and goblet of fire are the best and 2nd best films personally
A great scene that is almost completely ruined by the stupid "Teh!" sound that Voldemort makes and the horrendous way those split second sequences with him are shot. I mean, the shots with Voldemort look like they're from a different, lower budget movie, my goodness, what happened?
0ne of the most Underrated Harry Potter's Films! By far!
“I feel sorry for you” 😩🥺❤️
"Kill me now Dumbledore..." Blinded and dying, every part of him screaming for release, Harry felt the creature use him again... "If death is nothing Dumbledore, kill the boy..." Let the pain stop, thought Harry... let him kill us... end it, Dumbledore... death is nothing compared to this... And I'll see Sirius again. And as Harry's heart filled with emotion, the creature's coils loosened, the pain was gone; Harry was lying face down on the floor, his glasses gone, shivering as though he lay upon ice, not wood..."
Must see that happen
Elliana Rose Bowden-Cox Happened in the book
I think the scene was done so much better in the film, in the book I felt it was too short.
@@IG7799-c4u Yeah. I didn't even think much of this scene in the books, but in the movies it was so powerful, once he thought of Ron and Hermione, he was able to overcome this.
I need to read the books
I do remember the book version is much more subtle. Harry was REALLY in a lot of pain when Voldemort possessed him, and Harry was begging Dumbledore to kill him to end the pain! that is until he had a single thought, "So I can be with Sirius again..." and Harry's love for his Godfather was too much for Voldemort to handle! This is still a beautiful scene, and I like it a lot!
killer92173 yes God i loved that like he even greets death happily
I just finished that part in book 😂 I know it's so sad I cri
He was still in chock from the death of his godfather
Books way much better
the book version works perfectly for the book but wouldn't work as well as what they did in the movie
Hermione’s laugh was so beautifully executed at this moment, It’s a laugh from Harry’s best friend and out of the whole scene it is the only memory he “hears”, just listening to that beautiful laugh and those moments sends chills down my spine, masterpiece of a scene, truly representing Ron - Hermione - Harry friendship and love for one another.
Dan's acting in this was literally *gold* . My soul crumbled when I saw Harry in so much pain but he remembered all the people that were the most important to him. Thinking of his friends and family gave him the strength to fight back against Voldemort.
Ikr?
Yessssssssss Dannnnnnn
Literally gold? His acting morphed into the element, AU with an atomic number of 79? was it in a gaseous or solid form? perhaps liquid?
But the editing contributed to his acting and was perfectly put together.
@@ededdundeady6683 stop. stop. stop. you're going to take someone's eye out. besides, you're saying it wrong. jk lol
This scene in the books and movie always hit me hard. This was the first time his friends and Dumbledore saw him suffer. Sure he told them about the dreams and scar burning but seeing him in this state , battling his own will , trying to figure out who he really is - surely would've broken his friends
Soo true
It does, you could see the pain in Ron and Hermione's eyes.
This comment just made me tear up…almost overlooked that
In the book it wasn't Harry's love for his friends that drove Voldemort out of his body. Instead, Harry's overwhelming grief over Sirius's death causes Voldemort immeasurable pain and forces him out.
Also in the books When Harry has that dream about Mr Weasley being attacked and tells Ron, hit me in the feels.
The best scene in all of the movies in my opinion
Vincent Stevans Absolutely agree
Vincent Stevans Yes absolutely, this one is the best!

I laughed so hard at this. 100% agreed. The lines of reality get blurred when I'm watching harry potter. #ourchildhood
+Natalia Cubides I feel like that's kind of the point though. Harry is so similar to Voldemort that the exact things that kept him from becoming EXACTLY like Voldemort were love and friendship. And that maybe if Tom/Voldemort has been exposed to things like Harry was exposed to with his friends, the Weasley's, Ginny, Sirius, and his true family... Then maybe Tom Riddle would not have turned out the way he did.
No you didn't. Stop lying bro
Even though he's in so much pain he remembers the beautiful moments with Ron and Hermione😭
Well, after all they are only happiness in his life
@@implementablesteps77 not just them. The brief memories of his parents who gave up their lives to protect him, his godfather Sirius, his classmates that have stood by his side during this year at Hogwarts, their family members like the Weasleys.....pretty much everything that Voldemort never had in his life nor chose to have in his life.
Bcs he love hermionie most but she is not choosing him for a love life partner
One of the most beautifully done scenes in Potter history

I still don't understand how he never won an oscar for these movies...
An Oscar isn't just awarded to someone who's only done 8 movies. It takes years of experience and acting to get an Oscar.
Banana Torpedo actually, an oscar is given to someone for ONE role in a movie. it's one's ability to act not one's acting experience. The greatest people like Will Smith, Leonardo Dicaprio, and Tom Cruise never got an oscar so please re-check your knowledge of what an oscar is before you say it,
Noelle Riad So then if you know how someone gets an Oscar, why did you ask?
Banana Torpedo well if you would re-read the question, you'll see that i think he SHOULD win an oscar and the fact that he didn't get one is ridiculous since his acting is perfection. i still don't get what your problem is with my post.
Banana Torpedo the Oscars are a joke
The concern in Ron's face just melts my heart, he really wants to go help Harry, he doesn't want to see him in pain, but he is helpless
same with me whenever I wanna help someone, but sometimes I feel so helpless like I don’t know what to do and then I feel like having panic attacks when there’s nothing I can do 🥺

"It isn't how you are alike, it is how you are not."
It's tragic how Harry himself is the most underrated character in these series.
Yup happens with quite a lot of things like teen wolf
considering Voldermort is one of the greatest Legilimency user of all time, and Harry is literally a Horcrux containing a part of Voldemort already, I'm surprised Harry even kept him at bay at all.
@@abeedeahmed5626 He didn't really keep him at bay... Voldemort just didn't have a wand that could kill Harry until Voldemort kills the horcrux inside of Harry but even then the Elder Wand was Harry's so It couldn't kill him
Same with Ron
@@Orchid_Arts ron kinda overrated now, harry has always been underrated
It's sad how Harry is treated, throughout the series and by the fans. He's the one who has had to live this shitty life. He's been abused just for being the child of two people who his guardians hated, despised by a slimy potions teacher because he looks similar to his dead father and outcast because he's different or he's trying to 'disrupt the peace'. And every single time, no one believes him and who pays for it? HE DOES! He loses his family, his friends, his hope, his happiness, his dreams and no one ever believes him until it's too late. And you know what's the saddest part? No matter what happens, no matter how much shit he goes through, no matter how much he loses, no matter how much he has to suffer, he always puts others first and always tries to save everyone except for himself. He doesn't that it's more important for the 'greater good' that he lives, he only cares about saving his friends and sometimes even his enemies because he knows it's the right thing to do. In Chamber of Secrets, even though he's seconds away from death, he tries to reassure a fucking bird by blaming himself, saying how he "just wasn't quick enough" and that's just heartbreaking. Everyone he's ever cared bout has left him or hated him at one point and no matter what he never throws in the towel and says "fuck this shit, i'm out", no, he continues to stand and be this beacon of hope or of scorn, just because he can. Some argue about how "Harry can't have everything, why does he get all the love? Why not Ron? He doesn't deserve it, he's just a whiny kid!" Well, he has deserved everyone ounce of praise a million times over. The difference between harry and Ron is that Harry never expects any type of reward or fame for his actions, NEVER thinks of himself when someone else dies, never complains about what the has to do. Ron has everything that Harry wants: a family, a loving family that will support him no matter what. Harry deserves the best, yet gets the absolute worst. THAT is fucking tragic. Not some guy who had a crush on a childhood friend and never moved on so decides to take it out on an innocent child. HARRY is the most tragic character in the Harry Potter saga. HANDS DOWN!
THIS 🙌🏽🙌🏽
👏👏👏👏👏👏 Well described!
I totally agree...except for one thing. He doesn't lose his friends. And that one of the amazing things about the books, they always stick by him. That's the power of true love.
Why is my life so sad.... I read all of this 😂
I think he's a miracle because of this not a tragedy. We chose how we respond to things. At least in his universe there's a conscious and legal awareness of magic. Definitely is an astronomical bonus
I find it so sad when Ron Hermione Luna Neville and Ginny come rushing in and find Harry on the floor and they know they can't help him but they so want to!
This scene perfectly represents the battle one suffers with depression. How it takes over you, pities you, controls your thoughts, which memories you choose and how you act around others. Not sure if it was intentional but it makes the scene so much more powerful.
KidLouu I was diagnosed with clinical depression.
CosmicKid it is intentional and you’re correct

Daniel Radcliffe is such a great actor for the whole Harry Potter series.
"Then Harry's scar burst open and he knew he was dead: it was pain beyond imagining, pain past endurance- He was gone from the hall, locked in the coils of a creature with red eyes, so tightly bound that Harry did not know where his body ended and the creature's began. They were fused together, bound by pain, and there was no escape. And when the creature spoke it used Harry's mouth, so that in his agony he felt his jaw move." ....

_Let the pain stop, thought Harry. Let him kill us. . . . End it, Dumbledore. . . . Death is nothing compared to this. . . ._
_And I’ll see Sirius again. . . ._
And as Harry’s heart filled with emotion, the creature’s coils loosened, the pain was gone, Harry was lying facedown on the floor, his glasses gone, shivering as though he lay upon ice, not wood. . . .
crx Perfect and sad!
The "I'll see Sirius again" part always make me cry. Having to experience grief and fighting for your own will and agency, all at the same time, must've been horrible.
It shows that Voldemort felt the same pain as Harry. This pain caused him to fear to enter Harry's mind ever again which is explained in Snape's memories from 7th book.
@@aidemaidem7328I always interpreted it as the love Harry felt for his godfather was such an awful and foreign feeling for Voldemort that it shook him loose from his control of Harry's mind.
That's why the movie only line about Harry pitying Voldemort is a good addition, despite all.his power and knowledge, and material possessions that these things gained him, Tom Riddle was a sad sad man who did not know love and that ultimately made him weak.
0:50 Voldemort makes a "teh" sound. I swear this scene is supposed to be serious but this always cracks me up 🤣
Oh lord😂😂😂
*TAH* 👹
I KNEW I wasn't the only one to notice that!
It's supposed to be this dramatic scene of an intense battle of the minds as Harry is tortured by his greatest foe, but that single "teh" nearly killed me with laughter

I agree with you but I was traumatize when Harry was in pain but him got possessed by voldemort in the age of 15 year old I remember seeing that since I was 20 years old back in 2021
what exactly were his friends supposed to do at that moment? Go over there and say "Hey Harry" get your shit together" no. He was being taken over by voldemort. This was a battle Harry had to fight ON HIS OWN. His friends did help him, just not physically.
There was nothing his friends could do to help how could they? Jump in his body and pull out Voldemort?
+Olivia Griffith lolololoololo
Sarah H isn’t that the point? Harry’s Inner Battle? Of course he did it on his own. He was in a lot of pain. That’s why it isn’t named Harry and Friends defeat the bad guy once again! Jeez people are dumb
@@antonraulpen yea people complain about them showing no emotion there but the way I see it is that they're in shock. Harry is POSSESSED by Voldemort it makes perfect sense that they would just stop in their tracks when they saw that
His friends were the primary reason why Harry could invoke those emotions that drove Voldemort away. That invisible link is what Love is. Voldemort doesn't understand the magic as he believes that vulnerability = weakness..... This is true only for material things like money or artifact but not for Humans. Instead, it only makes Harry more powerful.
I think this mostly is about you confronting your own personal demons.
Yes that's the best way u can put it ☺
" the best way u can put it"😆😆
I think that this is a metaphors for something dark inside you or major depression or major anxiety you can only defeat it if you remember all the things that you're proud of and the things that keep you going which in both of Harry and my cases, is our family and friends, and love and hope and not to give up to remember that those things are all you need right now
walp that was deep for just a movie.
That is a really good point Vincent Stevans. I never thought about it that way.
Vincent Stevans wow that’s deep af congrats
I was suffering from chronic depression and anxiety for the past two years until I started binaural beats therapy and it literally felt like all those negative thoughts and feelings left my body. I watched this a couple days ago and started crying because this scene really did describe that moment.
Vincent Stevans Yes
This is a metaphor for something dark inside you; mental health for instance. And when you fight it, it will stop. Harry is battling with his conscious (voldy).
Hello Hannah, how are you doing
IMO this is the best scene in the whole series. Really captures the mortal human being Harry is and his growth as a character, in the first couple movies I can kinda see the argument that he's a bit of a Mary Sue who just stumbles into everything but definitely not by this point, and this scene really cements that. He's clearly already an emotional wreck throughout this whole movie, constantly treated like he's too young to fight for himself and gets used and neglected by people like Snape and even Dumbledore, then on top of everything has to watch the closest thing he's ever had to a father die right in front of him. And yet he has the strength to not only stand up for himself but take the higher road while he's being possessed by the literal personification of evil. There's not a more powerful moment in this series and it's just so perfectly executed... the flashback montage, the background music, the acting, just an absolute cinematic masterclass all around.
Me too, it’s my fav scene.
Harry Potter is an unbelievably patient character, in my view. The things he has gone through, the things he has seen, and the pain he's felt is unparalleled, and anyone would go crazy. But the way he's handled all of that is just, wow, it's almost like it never happened. And he still continues to try and enjoy his childhood before all of the peril and war, and he succeeds beautifully. He always sees the good in everyone, even Voldemort, and that helped him win over. All I can think about are how he never reveals what he's going through to anybody, because he cares about them and doesn't want them to worry about him, and that's just heartbreaking. He's been suffering with survivor's guilt ever since Cedric died, and how his friends are there for him, how there are still people who love him and want to be with him is just wonderful. It's just ironic that even though he deserves the absolute best, he gets only the worst, yet he never gives up and never stops fighting for who he loves, and maybe sometimes his enemies as well. Every time I read the books or watch the movies, I can sense Harry's imminent desire to get away from everything for once, and yet the only reason his life is made up of borderline crap, is because Voldemort got a multiple choice question. Harry, wherever you are, I will never stop wishing for your happiness, and you have earned my true respect from the bottom of the heart. To Harry Potter, the boy who lived!
P. S. Here's to Daniel Radcliffe, we could never ask for a better Harry Potter!
By multiple choice question, you're referring to the prophecy about how a child born in june will be his demise right?

the worst and the sad moment when I noticed that the beginning of his happy memories are the Hogwarts years which means that the first ten years of his life are miserable and meaningless ,
time to hate the dursleys
Harry is so accepting of death that it is amazing. He welcomes it. Just like in the story of the three Peverell brothers. The last brother welcomed death like an old friend and so Harry welcomes it because he would be able to see his parents and Sirius. And he was always so brave that even Voldemort admitted in the first book that he was as brave as his parents who faced him when they died. And Harry at the end of the Goblet of Fire decided to not hide behind the grave stones and die on his feet facing Voldemort just like his father did. The goosebumps that I get when I read these scenes!!
Rowling has said that this is the biggest difference between him and Voldemort. To be a master of death is being able to embrace, not going to such lengths to avoid it, and that makes Harry stronger.
This scene is a literal heartbreak I can still remember how I bawled seeing Harry in so much pain and it was terrifying how Harry has somehow became snake-like at the way he glided and lifted his body up at 00:47

I just reread this scene in the book recently and, wow. Just wow. It read that he was in so much pain, that he just wanted Dumbledore to kill him, to stop it, so he could be with Sirius. And how even through the immense pain he was experiencing he still thought of Ron and Hermione, of all the good times he’s had with them, it was truly shaking and devastating. The Order of the Phoenix book is truly so underrated, just because people said it was “too long” or “Harry was annoyed and angry the whole time”. The people who have said that, clearly didn’t see the beautiful story and reasoning that was lying in the book. He had watched his parents die, experienced an abusive upbringing, had to constantly be cautious and aware of Voldemort so he couldn’t have a REAL life, watched his friend die and blamed it on himself, all in his 15 year of life, just for people to say he was an angsty teen?! What?! His life was a constant caution, and he may have been the boy who lived, but he never really lived. He lived to die. But somehow he was still stronger than one of the most famous wizards of all time. Because of the love he held, because of the friendships he had, and because of the people who loved HIM. And that right there is a powerful book.
This comment is just amazing

1:06 Harry's like why does crap happen to me
Everybody sees Harry Potter as a story of magic, going to Hogwarts, adventure with Harry. But many has forgotten the meaning inside. The only thing that Harry Potter is trying to bring out is love. Love in a family, love in friendship, love in romance. He got the power to fight back because he remembers every good memory of being with his friends, his godfather, even the only time he meets his parents not even alive, facing the mirror. This is how pure Harry's heart is. He doesn't desire power, he only desire the safety of everyone, not just the good side, but everyone. Good side, bad side, all are people. A life loss is a life loss, no matter a good lif eor a bad life.
“You're the one who is weak. You will never know love or friendship. And I feel sorry for you.” So strong!
I'm not a huge Harry Potter fan however, this scene was really amazing. It reminded of the memory-infusion scene in Dark City. Harry Potter series definitely had some great moments and I personally liked this scene the most out of all the movies.

can't stop myself from crying every time
sinead mc laughlin ok
“You’re the weak one you’ll never know friendship or love and for that I’m sorry for you” Dumbledore looked like he thought Harry was talking to him
Harry: you’ve lost old man...
Dumbledore: well that was rude 10 points off slytherin
Said slytherin because dumbledore loves gryffindor
Harry Ptter and the Order of the Phoenix is in my eyes de best movie from the Harry Potter movies.
It's my favourite
This scene gives us a good reason to like it best:)
0:50 happy voldemort
LMAO!
😂😂😁
Metaphor: Voldemort is depression
Original Voldemort: You! You've lost, old man. Turkish Voldemort: Sen! Sen kaybettin, yaşlı adam. (Sen Kaybettin, ihtiyar.)
I love harry so much 😭 he has always been my favorite character and he is suffers through so much it makes me so sad 😔
Only i who noticed that Harrys movements in this scene is kinda Snake-ish?
Voldemort: your a fool Harry Potter and you will lose everything
Harry: at least I won't lose my nose
Starlight •
Wtf lol
😂😂😂
And hair also
1:10 to 1:23 it was so heart warming seeing the good flash backs and I almost cried
'You're the weak one, because you'll never know love or friendship. & I feel sorry for you' this is where Harry exposed his most vulnerable parts. Good always defeats evil.
Love is far greater than any kind of magic.
I cried for the 40th time! This was by far the best scene in the movies!
I feel like, before I die, I'm going to get flashbacks of all the happiest parts of my life, sort of like at 1:13
is it just me or is this also making you cry?
nope this scene made me cry too :'(
Me too :(
I'm tearing up too.
Me too 😢
+Luke Bengco It made me sad as well, but I started cracking up at 0:49! xD This Voldie is sooo goofy and OTT compared to the how he is in the books!
This is the scene where Harry actually defeated Voldemort
This is the actual defeat of Voldemort, the defeat of fear of Voldemort from Harry 's mind.....
Such an amazing scene Daniel did it sooo well he really showed all the emotions that Sirius's death made him feel. Harry went through so much and still had those happy thoughts, why? Because he appreciated every moment of happiness. Daniel did SPECTACULAR portraying this love him!💖💖💖💖💖💖
In the book Harry thinks he is gonna die so he accepts the death cause he thinks he is gonna see Siruis again. When he thinks about Siruis his heart fills with so much love Voldemort cant stand it and leaves Harrys body. I love this scene and Ive seen it before the book and I thought it was awesome. But when I read that part at the book I cried so hard, it felt much more wholehearted then this scene..
Since Tom was the result of a relationship through love potion he truly cannot know love, harry cut deep with that line.
Voldemort makes a lot of strange noises, doesn't he?
1. NYEEEEAAAAAAAAHH!
2. TEH!
3. ROAA!
and, i believe, others...
I actually laugh at this scene when voldy goes "Teh!"
When you realize that Harry is basically dealing with PTSD throughout the entire film!!
This is such great acting. As Dumbledore says, love is the only thing that could defeat Voldemort. The people Harry sees are the only people who ever cared for him without any expectations in return; Lily, James, Sirius, Ron and Hermione are the only ones who loved him unconditionally, without expecting any personal gain, the only ones who would've given anything for him, the only ones who put themselves in mortal danger for him multiple times. Harry's feelings show who he truly is, held upright only by the memories and love of his loved ones. Love is the strongest weapon in the world.
You forgot Molly Weasley and co.
And Remus
RIP Michael Gambon you are truly moving! Move...on! we all truly salute you
Harry: and you'll never know love, or friendship.
Nagini: am I a joke to you?
Understand the joke but nagini is his soul
@@dracula9994 so......he has a friend?
@@logancunningham4261 Since it's his own soul it's not an actual friend since an actual friend is a different soul than anybody else's.
I know this scene is meant to be serious and emotional, and it is brilliant. But Voldemort’s little “TA!” at 0:50 kills me every time😂
*Deh
Harry potter is kinda like Naruto who agrees with me
