I personally think the music and commentary adds more originality to the video instead of just soullessly slapping clips into a video and calling it a day. As a content creator, adding music and commentary isn't just 1 2 3 to add into a video, it takes time, editing and research, and it also makes the different parts of the video more consistent with themselves. The commentary adds another layer to the content, and it doesn't distract from what's going on, anyways.

2:43 - Tanker car implosion; For those who don't know, this is a demonstration of what happens when you release the contents of a tanker car without opening the air intake port on the top. These train cars hold liquids, and those liquids are dispensed via valves on the bottom; gravity does the work to let the liquids fall out of the tanker car into the next reservoir. But the weight of the liquid continuously falling out of the tank, combined with a failure to remember to open the air intake port, creates a lower and lower pressure inside the vessel until the Earth's atmosphere crushes it. The standard procedure of opening the air intake port on the top of the car when releasing its contents via the valves on the bottom of the car maintains the pressure inside the vessel to the same as the atmosphere around it, ensuring the integrity of the structure. What you are seeing in these two clips is literally the column of air above the tanker-going all the way to space!-pressing down on the tank so hard that it practically instantly deforms it like an aluminum can.

      @@torqtorqtorq thanks for your comment. I didn´t
know that without air coming in, content by gravity or vaccum could lower so much inside pressure to get that result. I just thought that at one point almost nothing would flow out.
We don´t think about it, but above us there is tons of pressure just by air weight and nothing should probably resist in 0 bar of inside pressure, just the samething than ill fated Titan´s implosion toward the Titanic. Most obvious cause we all know that water is heavy, so does with the atmosphere.

Ok, now I'm only 2 minute into this and the truck hitting the barriers I believe is a test of safety not a disaster.
    EDITED.
On Tuesday 13 July, the Wyoming Department of Transportation (WYDOT) conducted a dramatic test of a runaway truck arrestor system on Teton Pass - and the whole thing was caught on video.
The test took place around 10 a.m. on the east side of Teton Pass as a way for officials to ensure that the catch-cable system was working properly.
The catch-net cable truck arrestor uses a series of 8 to 10 cable nets that span across a long, narrow ramp adjacent to the highway to stop runaway vehicles.
During Tuesday’s test run of the truck arrestor, WYDOT put professional performance driver Arnold Korbmacher behind the wheel of a 58,000-pound sand truck and had him hit speeds of 60 m.p.h. before using the arrestor. The arrestor stopped the truck and the test was considered a success.
The truck arrestor was last used (in a non-test capacity) in June 2021, when a pickup driver lost his brakes and utilized the system. The arrestor was heavily damaged in September 2019 when it was used by a truck hauling a load of logs and required extensive repair.
I hope this clears things up for some of you. A link is below in a comment.

I've encountered DV40's falling off a ship first hand. I used to be a shipping agent, and one of our vessels lost a load of containers in a storm in the Bay Of Biscay. I had to inform certain customers that their cargo had been lost. The conversation was always like this:
    "So my box went overboard?"
    "Yes, sir, I'm terribly sorry''
"Those containers are airtight, aren't they? Then they would float"
"Only if they are completely empty... Now, my manifest says that your box had a load weighing six tons... That would be... "
"A 1950's Mercedes and some workshop equipment - that would float, surely?"
    "I'm afraid not, sir."
"How are you so damn sure?"
"Er, because the base of that container is still lashed to the deck of the ship... Just the base. Everything above it has gone.''
    "So where's my bloody car?"
"I think we both know the answer to that, sir."

This shows that many people don't have a basic understanding of physics.

    • @StatickyCat
      @StatickyCat Місяць тому

Well sometimes it's more complicated than that. Many of these cases involve people misjudging wind, conditions of the environment, not calculating weight ratios correctly (mostly true for the forklift ones), even totally unfair incidents like the clip where a lady stands on a concrete block and just falls right in.
Cutting down trees or towers, generally it's ideal to chop from the side you want it to fall, but the tree that fell on a person's house after being chopped was leaning against the guy's plans. Same with the tower that collapsed onto power lines, they blew it up on the same side they wanted it to fall, but it fell the other way. And for all we know, they could have been doing it theoretically correct but the wind may have had other plans.
Any fool can look at something and say "tHaT's sO eAsY". Usually there's more to it than it seems.

That’s the most bowel and bladder emptying thrill ride ever!!

Some accidents are te pinnacle of stupidity. Like leaving the traffic lights hanging on the electrical cords.
