Man, the c stand tip is EASILY the most valuable tip in this video. Ive been in the industry for 13 years and the amount of people using the c stand with the arm on the "loosening side" is astonishing. And dont get me started with how many youtubers do it... great job on this video!
@@ryanmickeyonly thing with the c stand is just adjusting the arm so it’s not sticking out behind the stand. Or at least using a tennis ball or tape on the end so someone doesn’t run into it
@@remywebber5330 Best tip I've seen for marking the end sticking out is printing out photos of the Director of the shoot and taping them on there, then nobody wants to get near it at all ...
Oh man...pure 🔥🔥🔥. I came here because of Epic Light Media but I stayed for the lighting tips. How is this even your first video? Looking forward to more. Yes, the moonlight was believable. Great job adapting your set.
I had saved your video to watch later. I thought I was watching a 1+ year old video of a youtuber now having 100k+ subs. Surprised to see this is your first video. Feel good bgm too. Thank you.
thanks for that. will try to film myself playing on console to put this knowledge into practice. oh, and shout out to epic light guys for this recommendation!
DUDE this is fantastic. I'm sticking around. I'm a filmmaker as well, be it as it may I'm still building my craft, but I've been doing things for a few years now. anywho, stay creative, you got my follow.
I found you and subscribed because of Epic Light Media's promo of your work. Nicely done, keep producing and hopefully you will get to 100,000 subscribers real soon.
such a clean video! love how straightforward and calm the delivery is. I subscribed immediately. I look forward to seeing more from you! Big thanks to epic light media for sending me your way.
Excellent work, my friend. Absolutely love the style of this video. It's elegant, minimalist, and most importantly - very easy to understand. We've had our knowledge built upon and reinforced by your brilliant piece of work here. Looking forward to seeing more.
I feel like I'm repeating what everybody else in this comment section already said but it really is a great video. It provided very valuable information while not making it unnecessarily long. The only thing that was throwing me off, was that the symbol for camera and light looked very similar which sometimes made it difficult to understand the lighting setup. But otherwise a fantastic video! I can't wait to see the content you're going to put out next! Keep it up! 🙌
will be watching you for the time being. Hope to learn. BTW, I'm using a d5100. A basic DSLR camera. Hope you can help me make my compositions great, Ryan! Thank you so much!
It’s really good but I was curious about your lens kit. I tried finding it in your link but couldn’t find. The image quality of the video is beautiful.. keep up the good work!
Nice intro video. 🥳 You could perhaps have added a bit of boiling hot water to your cup in the final shot, to simulate it being filled with tea/coffee. Not sure if the gentle steam would have been visible, though...? 🤔
Amazing job. Love how you make your eyes pop so beautifully with lightning in every scene. Color grading on point. Reminds me a little bit of Elijah Woods lightning on his eyes in Lord of the Rings. I would speed up the first three minutes a bit and slow down more towards the final scene/outro. But again, incredible job.
This video has no business being THIS good!!! Keep making content and you’ll get a nice K after that sub number for sure.
It’s true!!! This puts ELM to shame. Maybe ELM should promote this channel next!!?

That means a lot, thanks Ben!
This is awesome, definitely going to remember the dimmer on the lamp trick. Those practical lights always gave a problem. Thanks the tip!
Thanks man! Also, besides using a dimmer, you could always expose for the lamp, and then add as much light as you need after that.
The algorithm recommended this to me, and I’m glad! Great work, Ryan!
Wow, thanks a ton!

Great video
great start! Go Ryan! What's your talking head lighting setup?
Thank you a ton! I currently use a 300x with a parabolic softbox as my key, and a 60x with barn doors just kinda adding that small slash to the wall.
Nice video, appreciate you having your on character and not overhyping everything like most UA-camrs. I'll keep an eye out on this channel.
