@STNeish It should've been common sense to that judge with the way the lawyer literally couldnt go on talking after the squeak. Also nobody gies around squeaking strangers' seats for no reason so the contempt thing was bullshit. The judge saw how the kawyer snapped back straight away after the 3 squeaks so she should've known what it was. Then saying 'you're lucky its nkt assault'is laughable. Assault for what? @@Ebunoluwa13 The issue is that the judge was clearly aware that there was a problem. This never should have unfolded in the way it did. The judge after the first time should have called them up to a sidebar asked what was happening and then warned the plaintiffs counsel that what he was doing was disrupting the flow and decorum of the court. Not only that but a complaint could be filed against him for using a disability to interrupt the defense counsel. He more than likely would have been held in contempt for what he did once it was explained.
Something similar to this happened in The Good Wife where Michael J. Fox's character would use his disability to interrupt opposing counsel when they would appear to be winning. If someone were to put together the data and show that these outbursts only occurred while opposing counsel was doing direct or cross he would have a lot of issues.
The one good scene from Suits was when Mike and Harvey brought that up in a court. Another lawyer would declare a family emergency involving his niece had occurred and requested a continuance. Mike put up the data that this happened more than 20 times and that he didn't even have a niece. The judge was not at all pleased by this which is exactly how that would go in real life. Judges hate it when they're lied to.

      She has severe OCD.
Id research it yourself. But for specific people sometimes the thing that sets it off is a certain action, noise whatever in this case the number of squeaks, so she needed 3 or she would stay stuck mentally, on needing those other 2 squeaks to happen. Im their brain with that disorder it has to be 3.
Could be tapping. Chewing. A squeak they hear of a chair. Each person is different so each person has their own specific ticks and traits. But the feeling of it not happening, thise 2 squeaks NOT occurring is similar if not the same to those felt in life threatening urgent situations.
So they could be experiencing the same feeling as "if this doesnt happen ill die, my family will die" kind of FEELING. They can logically know that wont happen all they want, but the disorder still induces that SAME feeling for them. Similar to dread based anxiety. I know im not about to die, but it still feels that way.

Not OCD, more like severe acute ADHD, called auditory attentional capture or auditory distraction.
It refers to the involuntary shifting of attention towards sudden or salient sounds in the environment, which can disrupt focus and concentration on the current task or activity. It can lead to distraction, loss of concentration, and difficulty returning to the original task in a temporary loss of focused attention on the previous activity.
ALERT: To all up voters. Sorry to inform you that my answer was incorrect as another commenter pointed out to me. What do you all mean: "The judge should have been informed so she can take it into consideration?" This isn't daycare 😭 There is absolutely nothing wrong with people having OCD, but some occupations are just not suited for people with disabilities. A blind person can't be a pilot. A paraplegic can't be a marathon contestant. Someone with OCD who constantly losing her focus from squeaks and taps cannot properly represent their client in court. You can't expect the judge to accommodate someone like that. People's lives are on the line here!
