I love the idea 💡 about the painters tape!!!! Thank you so much 😊
Lovely tutorial; thank you!! I guess I am lazy, but instead of the laborious hand stitching with floss, I would choose to do a decorative stitch along the border on the sewing machine using a contrasting thread.
1955annemarie what a great idea!
Very nice tutorial showing fun things we can do to our sweet baby present. I like the floss idea and the soft ribbons. Many samples on Pinterest of this tag blanket. So Creative and such a good idea using the painters tape... whether you sew a decorative stitch by machine or hand sew your big lovely contrasting thread stitch... it makes the line straight looking which is good because I know my lines would get a little wavy or crooked eventually. Your an outstanding teacher and thank you for taking the time to do this tutorial. Do more please.
Thanks for your encouraging comment!
What is the purpose of the ribbon? Ive never swen this done.
Love the quick flannel quilt .
I added the ribbon just for fun and decoration.
Thank you for the quick response
When babies are a little older, they have fun exploring their blanket & find the ribbons intriguing. Speaking from personal experience.
@@juliec2393 so you're not worried about their little fingers getting caught in them?
@@lisaalaniz1 - not when they're monitored
Nicely done. Thank you for doing this Tutorial.
Loved your video. I found it very helpful. I just finished a baseball themed baby blanket for a friend and it turned out beautifully!
Thank you so much, I really really appreciate your time and effort too. And although I’ve seen this before, I really really enjoyed watching this again. Stay safe and well too xxx Mags
Use the Chinese sticks. great for pushing the corners.
I love the tutorial, but I do not understand the purpose of the ribbon tags...they don't seem to add to the "look" or the design of the blanket. Anyone know what the purpose of the tags are?? I am just picturing a baby getting their fingers caught in them... 🤔
The tags were added only for interest. If you google "tag blanket" you'll see where I got my inspiration for the little ribbons. They certainly are not necessary. :)
Baby's okay with them. They are considered self soothers.
taggie blankets are very popular... babies love them!!

Well I never heard such a thing as Taggie Blankets until now. This is cool as Cucumbers! Love the idea! Thank you for asking the question I wanted to know and thank you for the responses!😇 I’ll have to make one for my niece’s Baby.🥰
I like this video beth, but I'm going to add a layer of sew-in interfacing. Then sew the layers together on the sewing machine. Then do a decorative edge around the blanket. Thank you for this tutorial it's given me a few ideas as I just stated. I have an upcoming granddaughter baby gift to give and this is perfect Thank you.
Thank you for this tutorial. I found it very helpful.
Thanks so much! Happy sewing!
what are the ribbons in the blanket, decorations?
Babies like to rub and play with the ribbons.👍
Such a nice blanket. The hand stitching makes it special. And the stitches mimic the stitch design on your fabric. Thanks for the nice explanations, particularly a wider seam allowance and hand stitching away from all the layers. I never thought of the painters tape as a guide for hand stitching.
did you say quarter of a yard or half a yard or a yard? I suggest putting the notions in the description box, in both imperial and metric measurements.
I think she said a yard and a quarter
Cute! 😃 I like the ribbon tags. They seem to be popular now.
Wasn't that orange corduroy???
it's flannel. orange with a very faint stripe. 👍
This is cute!
Thank you
Nice baby blanket idea. I like the simplicity of it. Out of curiosity, are the ribbon tags a decorative element or do they serve a utilitarian purpose? Your hand stitching really added charm. Thank you for the video 😊👍💕
I added the ribbon for decoration and because babies like to fiddle with tags sometimes. There is a baby item that is called a “tag blanket” that gave me the idea👌
Where did you get your fabric?
I purchased this fabric a few years ago.
Hi and thank you very much for this tutorial! 😎🌸
You're welcome. Happy seiwng!
Thanks, love the idea of foundation square!
Thanks for sharing! Just what I needed to see.😊
Lots of babies that have I want to make this for. Thank you.
Thank you, Beth for your time and effort. I have releaarned so much from you. Very straightforward teaching. May God bless you and keep you safe during these trying times.
Glad it was helpful!
Cute and love the colors.
Corners are sturdier with handling every day if you run the sewing of the edge and start again half an inch in.
thank you for the tip!
Easy Peasy! Thanks
What is the purpose of the ribbon?
I have seen little ribbon quilts for baby and thought it added some whimsy as well as a little thing for baby to fiddle with.
Tku love your video
did you shrink all the fabric
I did not pre-wash my fabric for this project. Happy sewing!
Very nice
A baby could hurt a finger on the ribbons, don't think that is a good idea.
You don't need to add the ribbons. I think I got this idea from the many "tag blankets" or "ribbon blankets" that I have seen elsewhere. Happy sewing!!
I worked in Child Protection so I guess I have remnants of things that we were taught to look for that sometime most people didn't. Loved the tutorial otherwise.
meh. If a woman can bother to buy or make her own swaddling clothes, then she's probably not the sort of mother whose baby ends up in foster care.

Cmon seriously?! Btw great vid & thanks for sharing... ;)) ❤👶
Thank you for making this tutorial! I love it!
Am loving the cutting system you are using!!!
What are those loops for?
Diana - The loops are there for the little one to fiddle with (like a tag blanket). I think they're also kind of a cute addition to a simple project.
