Apparently False Face did appear in the comics, in one single story in 1958 - as several people here in the comments have informed me. I apologize for that erroneous bit of information, and feel deeply ashamed...

The thing I always liked about king Tut , was that he sometimes acted childish.( as in literly the boy king, as.TUT was referred as) in one case TUT had Robin in a.fix., Robin: " You just wait , Batman will be here!!,," TUT: "BAT mm.an. nynnnamn na! !!" " TAKE HIM AWAY!!!." , my favorite line from that episode . TUT acted like a sniveling teenager towards Robin.

The 66' TV show was very special to me, it was the first adaptation of the Dark Knight I was ever introduced to,
And I still occasionally watch it, to this day it is one of my favourite portrayals of Batman and a great way to do a light-hearted Batman,
And character's like Frank's Riddler and Romero's Joker still remain as classic, although unlike- portrayals of the Rogues.

Honestly, all the original villains from this show should be in the comics in some form (I know that they've been sneaked in as references or been given one-off stories in the past, but none have been fully transferred into the comics as reoccurring villains, at least as far as I can remember), but if I had to pick one, it would be Egghead; I don't know how I'd bring him in or what his motivation would be (though I like the idea of him being an intellectual associate of the Penguin), but I do know that his design would be basically unchanged from the show, as you simply can't design anything better suited for him than what he's already wearing.

The chameleon isn't a copy of false face because false face's comic appearance wasn't that known until the 60s show. Th chameleon was created in 1962 and was based off soviet spies (fun fact, skrulls were also inspired by soviet union) so the creation of both character was a coincidence

Buono said portraying the character gave him the opportunity to do something he normally couldn't do. Overact. I have the complete set, all 120 episodes. The names that appeared on this wonderful show as villains and cameos: Van Johnson, Tallulah Bankhead, Milton Berle, Liberace, Rudy Vallee. My dad used to watch this show to see who'd be playing a villain or sticking their head out of a window on a Bat Climb. And he would laugh his ass off! Fun facts: Frank Sinatra was considered for the role of the Joker. Mickey Rooney and Spencer Tracy were considered for the role of Penguin. So, my three favorite OCs on Batman '66 (because the Big 4 are a given) were King Tut, Egghead, and Shame. I loved King Tut's Egyptian theme, to the point of using him in a fanfiction for another Batman series, while Shame came across as a relatively (and refreshingly) serious villain, a sort of palate cleanser when you'd had just a bit too much zaniness. Egghead, on the other hand, was a chance for Vincent Price to let his full hamminess out to play, and I enjoyed watching him clearly loving every minute of it.

I love all these villains and it was such a bummer that DC couldn't use a lot of the OC villains due to copyright reasons so expies had to be created as substitutes (Dr. Aesop for Bookworm, Bedbug for Sandman, ect) but Paul Dini said that now DC owns all the rights to them. Personally, I've always liked Col. Gumm since his scheme is just simple counterfeiting plus he's played by the late great Roger Cormel AKA Harry Mudd. Louie the Lilac was also fun since he was pure gangster.

I sometimes try to come up with weird origin stories for these one-time, TV show-only villains. I like to imagine that Bookworm was originally the same character as Burgess Meredith played in the classic TWILIGHT ZONE episode, "Time Enough at Last", and that the whole "surviving a nuclear war only to break his reading glasses" was just a dream he suffered after a gang of bank robbers botched the job and a bomb they'd brought along went off too early, knocking him unconscious. The mental stress of his dream, coupled with the abuse he'd suffered from his anti-intellectual wife and co-workers, caused him to go around the bend and become the Bookworm, his crimes meant as much to force a need for literacy as well as to display his love of reading.

Nice to know that someone else prefers the original Sanders Freeze - most people seem to prefer the Preminger version. I mean, he was fun, too, but the Sanders Freeze really does have quite a lot of depth - I think the makers of B:tAS borrowed a fair amount from him when they came up with their version.
I really love Egghead. I agree with you, it really wouldn't take much to transfer him to the comics. He's got everything - a unique and interesting look, a distinctive personality, even trademark weapons. The trick, I think would be to play him just a LITTLE more sinister and intense than he already is - like, he's already basically Vincent Price, so mix in a bit of one of Price's other iconic roles - say, the villain from 'House on Haunted Hill'. Keep him playful and eccentric, but give him a darker side. He never shouts when he gets angry; he just gets very, very... calm. He gets exaggeratedly patient. His voice becomes silky and menacing, the egg-puns start becoming less frequent and more pointed - he starts becoming scary. After that, his silliness would take on more of a Joker-like edge; yes, he's funny and weird, but when you know what he's like when he STOPS being that...

@@brianthomas2434 An argument could be made, I suppose, that Price is just one of several villains working towards their own ends, or even that the real villain is the house itself, but the fact remains, he's the headliner, and the reason why everyone in the movie is risking their lives in a murdery ghost-house in the first place. The box cover of my copy is a reproduction of the movie poster, and this tagline is on it: "For $10,000, would you spend a night with Vincent Price in... HOUSE ON HAUNTED HILL[?]" Doesn't exactly paint him as the hero, does it?

The Black Widow deserves some love too.
Her implied background as a veteran in the criminal underworld, her killer hideout set design and colour palette, the deep, husky voice...
The episodes themselves were okay (the first one was pretty good actually), but her perfomance and general atmosphere put her along False Face as the show's darker villains.

@Mr. Rogues Probably, the closest character to ''King Tut'' in the comics was ''Dr Gibson''. Who first appeared in (Detective Comics #262 1958). Gibson was the assistant of an elder archaeologist whos name was Dr. Coombs. Both Gibson and Coombs found (the mask of Anubis) on an ancient ruin in Egypt and they brought the mask back to Gotham City for the Gotham Museum. Gibson was in charge of showing the mask to Batman, who became suspicious of Coombs after he learned that the elder man liked to wear the mask from time to time. Shortly after this, a new criminal appeared in Gotham under the alias of (Anubis, the Jackal Emperor). Coombs was the main suspect, but after a few encounters with the criminal. Batman soon learned that he was in fact Gibson, who tried to frame Coombs. Eventually, Coombs was captured by the Dynamic Duo, who kept the mask of Anubis as a (trophy in the Batcave).

OH, HUZZAH! THE BEST VIDEO TO WAKE UP TO!
Ahem...so, let's get on it...I shall leave comments in the order the villains appear on the list. I won't be commenting on ALL of them, obviously, but just the ones where I can throw my own two cents in.
I've actually always liked David Wayne's performance as the Hatter quite a bit. I would argue that he does feel crazy, but it's a different kind of crazy. The way he shudders and shivers and twitches here and there, and the way he goes absolutely BERSERK during the fight scenes, seems to indicate there's definitely something wrong there. It also helps that his goons, especially in his first appearance, tend to be rather skeptical of him and even seem creeped out by him at times. I'm actually reminded of, out of all things, Edgar Allan Poe's "The Tell-Tale Heart." The story literally starts off with the main character/narrator telling us he can't be crazy, because he's so calm and so rational...but the simple fact he CAN be so calm and rational while talking about all the absolutely demented things that happen in the story shows us that he clearly IS crazy. I'd say the same goes here...simply in a less horrifying way, obviously.
False-Face actually DID appear in the comics: batman.wikia.com/wiki/False_Face. Other than that, I've got nothing to say.
There were plans to bring the Bookworm back in Season 3, apparently, but according to McDowall himself, "either they changed their minds about the Bookworm, or I was off doing something else at the time, because it never came to pass." Given how bad Season 3 was, I'm not sure if this is a tragedy or a miracle in disguise. XD
Incidentally, despite only appearing once, Bookworm is my choice for the best original villain from the show...but Egghead is a close second. Mostly because Vincent Price is one of my idols, as an actor, and I absolutely adore him as the World's Greatest Criminal Mind. (No, not Ratigan; that came later.)
Sanders was an AWESOME Mr. Freeze. When I did my own list of my Top 12 60s Batman Rogues, I put Freeze at the very bottom of the list. This was only because I felt I still had to take the other two Freezes in mind; Eli Wallach is fun, but, as you said, nothing special...and I'm going to be totally honest, I cannot STAND "Awful Otto" Preminger as the second Freeze. The shame is that his episode is probably one of the best in the writing department, but I just never liked his performance at all. If I had decided to focus on Sanders, and Sanders alone, I would have placed him at least a little higher, though I can't really say for sure how high. I mean...come on, it's Adam West vs. Shere Khan! XD
I was surprised to see Catwoman take the top spot, and while I have my own problems with Newmar's Catwoman - I think it's more the writing's fault than her own, to be fair, the more I look at it - I can DEFINITELY understand the appeal, and I can equally understand why she's still considered the greatest of the 60s Catwomen. Oddly enough, I'm of the minority that actually likes Kitt and especially Meriwether more, largely because I felt they were more threatening, though each had their funny moments...but, to be fair, threatening is not necessarily the goal for this series, and Newmar was easily the funniest of the three, while still having her menacing moments, so I suppose it's a toss-up there.
All in all, not a bad countdown, my friend! With the exception of Mr. Freeze, basically every villain here is among my top ten as well (and, to be fair, again, if I had gone with only Sanders on my own list, he could have easily been in that top ten, with a little bit of switching around), and while the order of rank is different, I can't say I necessarily disagree with your choices or your reasoning. An excellent and long-awaited video; it did not disappoint!

Oh, the Hatter was definately mad on the show, I'm not denying that. I guess I just wanted a more "whimsical" mad from him. In the comics, the fake Hatter always has a crazy grin on his face, we didn't get that from Wayne. Of course, each to their own!
I feel ashamed for not knowing about False Face... and I call myself a villain expert!? SHAME ON YOU, ROGUES!
I guess we'll just agree to disagree about the 60s Catwomen ;) I myself don't really want kitty to be TOO threatening - I don't feel that's quite her thing. And I for one, really liked Newmar's weird flirt/obsession with Batman. Her love/hate relationship with him almost reminded me a bit of Harley and Joker.
And thank you! I'm glad I finally have this done and wrapped up! I'll probably watch a few more episodes, just for fun, though.

My favorite Cat woman moment was when she had Batman on the ground in an alley . they exchanged dialog. THEN Cat woman asked for a kiss. Batman was almost.taken in when suddenly you hear Robin's voice saying." Batman hurry up , comissioner Gordon's here!". Then a dissapointed.Catwoman sighs. " Thanks a lot, boy BLUNDER !!?". It looked close for Batman , but she didn't get the kiss!,..it was a. Julie Newmar episode. Robin's closing statement. " HOLY MUSH!!".

    Great video Mr. Rogues. You know a while back I thought up a couple of a list of Batman villains who didn't appear on the show, either due to not existing at the time or being too scary for the show and the actors who could have played them. The list includes;
    • Raquel Welch as Poison Ivy
    • Edgar Burgen and Charlie as the Ventriloquist and Scarface
    • Tim Curry as Copperhead
    • Warren Beatty as Black Mask
    • Lon Chaney Jr as Anthony Lupus

Hi. I'm back. There are 3 things that I wish to voice after watching this video again. First of all George Sanders portrayed Mr Freeze very well in his debut episode no denial but then Eli Wallach also did a pretty good job as Freeze balancing the serious villainous role with over the top acting just right knowing what he did on The Good The Bad and The Ugly. Both actors are good but not Otto Preminger his is completely separate. Second I agree with you on The Bookworm Mr. Rogues. He is a relatable villain because we all have dreams that we want to come true but never could. He should've appeared more on the show and he is no rip off of the Riddler, but a character all on his own. Third and finally the mask False Face wore should've covered Malachi Throne 's face except where his mouth should be. It could've been less and False Face could've appeared more. What do you think about?
