So you want to know what are the main causes of Breast Cancer in women. The most important factor that causes of Breast Cancer is the age itself. In simple words, as you grow older, the risk of Breast Cancer increases. So generally we say anybody above the age of 50,that is after menopause, the risk of Breast Cancer increases significantly. There are other factors involved in causation of Breast Cancer like very late onset of menopause, that is a person who attains menopause very late or a person who has attained menarche very early and people who have never been pregnant are also prone to getting Breast Cancer. Late pregnancy is also another factor, that is anyone who get pregnancy after 30 years. Many causes that cause Breast Cancer are not avoidable. There is no way you can decide that this day you will get menopause or this day you will get your menstrual periods. but there are some things that are avoidable for example drinking alcohol is a known factor that causes Breast Cancer. Smoking though there is no significant proof though it does not cause other cancers. So though there is no proof for it, so generally it does cause many other cancers. So there is no proof. So it is something to be kept in mind. There are other things like consumption of high calorie diet that can cause cancer like Breast Cancer is one of the things that is caused by heavy fatty food. Obesity or overweight is another important factor to remember. So any of these factors can be prevented, very often what we see is Breast Cancer inherited. Yes it is inherited but only in 5 to 10. So most important cause of Breast Cancer is not hereditary. Anybody can get it. Just being a female or a woman increases the risk of Breast Cancer because Breast Cancer or more common in women in comparison to me. Infact only 1 in 100 Breast Cancer is a man. So these are the factors. What I would suggest is those ones that are avoidable and we shod try to avoid it. Prevention is better than cure.
