Cut up orange peel (not the part of the orange you eat), place them on the pot soil and they will move out.

Had the same issue. Ants are not harmful to orchids. I did not like the look. So I mixed Dawn soap and a little coconut oil because I was out of Neem oil at the time. Needless to say I found out coconut oil is used as a herbicide. In about two week , I had two favorite cymbidiums dead from the treatment. They die little by little . You start getting one yellow leaf after another. Many dish soap makers including Dawn use coconut oil in their mix. Also the peppermint oil, I would ask if coconut oil is used. You would think the coconut oil would be safe since they grow in coconut husk, etc. Not .. a natural herbicide. For me I am sticking with Safer Soap and Neem oil. Also Hydrogen Peroxide is safe to use. Dilute.

Oh no I’m so sorry! I’ve used peppermint and Dawn in the past without any negative side effects but maybe because I’m using it in such tiny amounts. You would think coconut oil would be safe. Learn something new everyday. Thank you!

Wouldn't it be nice if the ants would eat the spidermites? I noticed an nest of ants under one of my cactus... It is outdoors... I am not sure I should just ignore them 🤔

It would be very nice if they ate them. lol. Make my job a little easier. 😂 I ignore the one outdoors. We have them really bad. Just get you some peppermint oil and spread some around out there. 💜

Hi Danni. There must have been a picnic in your pot, because the entire ant nation was there. Lol. I have the same problem. I do use dish soap and water, but that just evicts the ants and cleans the place for the next group of squatters. I will try the freshly scented peppermint. Thank you.

      Good morning ☀️
I don’t know why they decided to move into the greenhouse but they aren’t allowed to have any more picnics. 🤣
Have a great day Blanca 💜

Where do you buy the peppermint oil? Can I use need oil and dawn detergent? Do I put it on the roots and then rinse it off?

Hi! You can get peppermint oil from Amazon. I’ve never used been oil. I mix it with water and dunk the entire plant. Then air dry in front of a fan. Happy growing. 💜

You got two options. Make chocolate covered ants or buy an anteater. You can share the anteater with other people and open an anteater pest control service. Havnt forgotten. Doing touch ups. Two weeks from this comment.
