Please do reach out - there are so many who need offers like these. It may be the biggest gift you ever give another human.
I'm in Australia, such a long way from Ukraine, but have successfully been able to assist a young refugee to relocate here.
Via our local Ukrainian Society, I've also been able to assist in other practical ways - simple things like helping with enquiries due to language barriers.
There's something everyone can do to help, should they wish to. Thank you for having the heart to do so! 💙💛

Why would a woman want to come to your nightmare of a country, where their children can be shot in an elementary school and the government has control over her body.

Ukrainians are such lovely people that all of this feels wrong. There is very little hate in them just love of their homeland and their family which gives them true courage.

This lawyer mirrored my own emotions upon first seeing Russia visit such atrocities on Ukraine and her people.
Like him, my initial instinct was to help, but being in Australia, I felt too far away to give the practical support I desired. I couldn't be there helping at the borders or offering practical service.
So, I began with small donations for aid as I could manage, and began sharing information and support. However, I felt the same pull to do more as the lawyer expressed. I, too, wished to find real people to help directly.
With this on my heart, I came across a young Ukrainian on social media who wished to relocate to Australia. I've been able to assist them to navigate the process to do so, and now continue to provide friendship and support as they build a new life.
Our local Ukrainian Society is also in need of support to aid other families arriving each day. I was able to help them make connections to support arriving Ukrainian families with food, goods and services. Then I was asked to make some career enquiries on behalf of a few Ukrainians - a simple task made difficult by language barriers. Easy for me to do, yet so helpful for those involved.
I say these things to encourage those of you who wish to help, but feel helpless. Please trust me when I ask you to reach out and discover how you can help, as you may find one small act of kindness changes lives for others.
You don't need to have lots of money or resources to help - we all have something to offer. It's most important we stand alongside those suffering and do what we can to ease their pain, helping them fight for the path to their future.
Ukrainians (and the world) deserve so much better than Russia's desire for world domination and "Ruski Mir".

We have a hotel full of Ukrainian refugees here in my mountain town. On one hand it is nice, on the other hand I am not sure what we will do with them long term as the town only has about 1000 houses, there’s no way to get all the Ukrainians apartments even if they can get jobs locally. I hope Ukraine soon can win the war or at least reach a favorable peace that lets them join the European community, so that its scattered children can once again return home and live full, meaningful lives rather than the transitory existence of a refugee. If the war drags on it may be necessary to find some way to distribute the refugees more evenly across the West, to avoid forcing the poor refugees into poverty and unemployment. Hopefully more countries have good samaritans like the excellent fellow in this video.

That is great! The Czechs I have met do not take kindly to the Russian people. One of them described them as uncivilized people that can't be trusted. That's not been the case with me I have met mostly good people from Russia. Only once did I meet a Russian who was a confused woman, with a horrible disposition and negative attitude still rooting for the Soviets in the 2000's. She was a client, I turned her business down. I dreaded meeting with her while we still had some unfinished business.
Edit: I trust no one, maybe that's why

"That's not been the case with me I have met mostly good people from Russia."
You're lucky that they never invaded your country and occupied it for 22 years. That can leave a bad impression.

    • @Logoned
      @Logoned 2 роки тому +1

@@MrSonofsonof I've had the same experience with Russians I met as a child in Cuba and on the icerink, same goes to Czechs I have met playing hockey. However that's not the case here. Their government still has the old Soviet ways woven into the fabric of their leaders, soviet communism.
I have found some Czechs do not take kindly to most Russians, considering them less civil is how one woman described it. When I thought she was Russian and greeted her in Russian, lol, she set me straight right quick.

If you look at what countries people flee to, it is always to a more free and prosperous country, never the other way. If China and Russia want to succeed they first need to stop the want of their citizens want to leave for a better country.

Well it depends. if he had a Czech visa and was staying in the Czech republic before the start of the war, the ukrainian law forbidding the men to leave Ukraine was not applied to him.. There were about 200 thousand Ukrainians in the CZ before the February 24th, and about half of them have returned to fight.. The other half was and still is helping the refugees, as there are 381.000 to this day...

Not every person is poor and not every person has war at place they live in Ukraine.
