How I glaze Peacock Eye pieces:
The first glaze is applied to the outside and down to around the top of the eyes. This glaze is usually an opaque solid colour, typically using titanium/rutile for the opacifier.
Then a fluid translucent glaze is applied to the inside. It should overlap the first glaze, coming almost to the rim. There's no reason it can't come beyond the rim, I just like the increased contrast between the solid outside and patterned inside.
The way I glaze the inside is to pour only as much glaze as I need into the piece (this takes a little trial and error to find), rolling the piece around to first evenly coat the inside then putting any extra glaze on the overlap for greater glaze movement. If you do it this way, it's a good idea to have a sponge or large brush on hand to scoop glaze back out if you accidentally pour far too much in.

Oh My Word! A car dent puller! Awesome. I always make such a mess. I have been doing it backwards. I had been using a liner glaze inside first then doing the outside. Always make a mess of the inner portion while trying to glaze the outside. Thank you for this video.

Yep! That's how I did them at first. The glazes need to be fairly thick to get the movement

What causes the spots? Are the a result of the surface texture of the inside of the piece?
He pushes little dents into, in this case, the mug. The glaze then naturally flows around it.
@@Scott_CThey are too regular to be random so I suspected they were either dents or bumps (from the texture on the outside) and that is causing a change in the glaze thickness and thus produces the effect. The peacock eyes come from his technique's effect on the glaze.
Exactly that. It's stamped from the outside, and the glaze flows around the texture to create the pattern

Probably, but you'd need to experiment with the glazes to get a similar result
Are these cone 5 or cone 10 glazes?
According to the recipes linked in the description, they are cone 6.
