I use 2Solvol Autosol" on a polishing pad. Attached to my machine-polisher. Works a treat and takes about 10 minutes

Fantastic videos, am looking for a Elgrand, being put off with the 4 cats fitted to the exhaust. Have heard of horror stories with them getting blocked and causing engine failure. What do you think?

It has been known. But as with all horror stories. No one ever writes about 'never having a cat blockage'.
When i Bought an Np300 Navara, EVERYONE told me it was bound to snap its chassis and break in half!.
Amazingly although it has happened to 'some' cars it didnt happen to mine.
Id say life is too short not to try the toys you really fancy as long as you can afford them.
You can get decat pipes to half the number of cats if it really worries you.
Thanks for watching. and I hope you find a nice one like I did👍

    Hello John,
Good video again thanks, I have some wiper scratches on my XK8 windscreen, can that be polished out?
    Cheers,
    Jon Slade

Yes you can! but you need the right polishing compound as the abrassive has to be small enough to cut without destroying the glass, but hard enough to deal with glass.
One of our watch experts will no doubt be able to suggest a product used on Mineral glass watch faces? Anyone ever done this?

We'll have to see how lack of UV resistant coating affects long term results. Even a light clear coat helps against UV.

Yes Gary. I think I will avoid re coating the lens for a while and see if i can detect how many washes/miles before the lens starts to cloud up a little. I know from experience that if you dont put anything on, then a couple of weeks is all it will take in the summer to start seeing the haze reappear.. We are two washes and a couple of weeks in now and all is well

It seems to be one of the few areas where the detailing supplies trade have not tried to charge an arm and a leg. maybe thats because currently its not a very lurative market as 90% of headlamp resoration is done by specialists who already have the kit rather than DIYer's. It does look a bit scary for most folk i guess
