ANTI-INFLAMMATORY FOODS | what I eat every week
Вставка
- Опубліковано 2 кві 2019
- These are the anti-inflammatory foods I eat every week to reduce inflammation in my body. An anti-inflammatory diet can help with reducing joint pain and arthritis, healing the gut (key if you have celiac, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's or IBS), getting rid of eczema and psoriasis, and keeping other autoimmune conditions such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis in check. It's also beneficial if you suffer from anxiety or depression.
I became well versed in wholesome, anti-inflammatory foods several years ago when I embraced a whole foods diet. After being diagnosed with four autoimmune diseases in two years I realized my body was fighting massive immune system inflammation and I needed to provide reinforcements. Those reinforcements came in the form of groceries.
Watch the video for the list of anti-inflammatory foods - it's what I eat every week. And enjoy the full blog post below all the healthy recipes on my website!

I'm back!!! Sorry for the long break as I've had lots of work travel over the last month. I hope you enjoy this new video and all the gems of knowledge on healthy, anti-inflammatory foods. Do you eat all of these foods? Which are your favorites? xo - Lisa
Thanks so much!
I loved the video as always! For me, you are an amazing health coach. Love you. Thank you so much for sharing with us your knowledge.
Thank you Lisa for your video! I really enjoyed and I learned something new. ❤ What is your thoughts about sellery juice mania and have you tried it yourself? I am planning to trying perhaps this summer (in northern hemisphere). For me seabuck thorne berries, ginger and tumeric has been just a pure healing power. 😍
I am so happy you are back, always look forward to new videos. I eat all of these foods except ginger I have never been a big fan but may try it again.
Downshiftology I’m so glad you said this. The important thing here is to study and be aware. Example. I have type two diabetes. Due to the concentration of sugar at one time making smoothies is not the best choice to make. Instead I should stick with heating maybe a palms worth of berries whole. Is this the correct thinking?
It's so refreshing to hear someone talk about healthy food without talking about weight loss! Thank you!
Thanks for following along to my channel :) Hope my videos are insightful!
Jade Auburn If u eat healthy you never get overweight.
Exactly feel good can be the goal and fat loss side effect.
Jade I agree with you.
I am a French MD. PhD and I agree, healthily eating is making you feeling well, then you can adjust about your weight if you want. First of all support your health.
1. Berries
2. Leafy greens
3. Salmon, trout, sardines (fatty fish)
4. Avocados
5. Broccoli (cruciferous)
6. Garlic
7. Ginger
8. Chia seeds, flax seeds...
Chia seeds are different to flaxseeds - they are from two completely separate plants, and both are excellent value for our health. :-)
Thanks for the nice, quick summary.
@@hehunches and sondonchia seeds unless they're sprouted into microgreens. Terrible recipes here! Be safe!!
Flaxseeds upset my hormones badly. Chia’s good
I grind my flax seeds in a pepper grinder, releasing the oil. Hope that works.
If you had a playlist dedicated to anti-inflammatory diet and recipes, I think it would go over extremely well. Thank you for all the good information!
After a life time of diagnosed with lupus I got cured with the help of Dr Ehime on UA-cam channel and till now I’m free.
Most definitely!
Great to see a channel focusing on what one can eat to combat inflammation instead of what not to eat!

New sub. here and YOU SAVED ME time. Thank you. I was about to need to listen a 2nd time to write a list but can't stand her voice. 😌 thanks again.
p.s. you know, there are a few ppl here in UA-camLand who make compilation lists like you've done and it IS VERY HELPFUL and a generous thing to do. Just a teeny gesture but...
so kind. ✌ 💋
Unfortunately I found out salmon causes inflammation for me. Also grapes, apples and coconuts. It took me a long time to figure this out because these are all considered healthy foods. Truth is every body is different and we have to figure out what works for us and what doesn’t.
I am a doctor and every time I see one of your video a feel that you are doing something very important for people almost like a doctor and sometimes ever better than we do! Your passion and your incredible work around food and nutrition is incredible so much compliments!!!! I love your channel and u deserve much more followers and people start listening to your amazing tips for a better health 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻❤️
Thanks so much Assunta! I truly appreciate your kind words and support, especially coming from a doctor. I'm so thrilled you're loving all of my recipes, videos and tips. I'm definitely passionate about wellness, as I'm sure you are as well. :) x
Assunta Filippini Do you still think salmon is healthy? Or did you learn from Doc Neal Barnard vegan diet or Mediterranean diet!!!!!
I agree. I started a few years ago with all the ANTI-INFLAMMATORY FOODS she describes here and naturally I lost over 50lbs. Great job with the videos, keep up please.

What kind of doctor are you?
Thank you so much for sharing this! My Brother and I both were diagnosed with autoimmune diseases- I have Raynaud’s Disease and my Brother has Fibromyalgia, RA, and Raynaud’s Disease. We’re wanting to incorporate anti-inflammatory foods, so I appreciate you sharing this information!😊
I love this! Thank you. I have 3 autoimmune diseases and I’m struggling to reduce the inflammation in my body through food while still reducing the amount of histamine I consume. These recipes are so inspiring and have given me loads of ideas. I’d love to see a playlist from you on more recipes for overall health
How generous of you to share all these amazing recipes! Most UA-camrs tease us and then try to sell their cookbook.
You're more than welcome! And I have hundreds more recipes on my website. :)
@@Downshiftology Thank You SO much. This information is incredibly helpful. You are a treasure!

Tina Halford Why?
Tina Halford Broccoli and other cruciferous vegetables are goiterogenic foods which can suppress thyroid function. That’s why they are not recommended for people with thyroid conditions, including hashimoto’s. This does not mean that they are not anti-inflammatory. 😊
Turmeric is another great anti-inflammatory food. I add avocado oil and black pepper to mix the turmeric with my food.
You are so right. It was a game-changer for me!
@@itgetter9 more info plz ??🤔🤔🤷♀️🤷♀️
@@rosamanno1478 Since I've been cooking with turmeric (putting it into stir-fry, curries, and making a bedtime drink called "golden milk"), I have noticed a few things: weight loss, deeper sleep, and less pain. Golden milk is made by heating up some milk (nut milk, soy milk, coconut milk, or cow milk), and then adding a couple teaspoons of turmeric, along with a bit of black pepper, and a bit of cinnamon and/or honey, if you want. This is the best bedtime drink. I hope you find turmeric to be helpful!
@@itgetter9 yes I tried this golden milk before... I need to lose weight due to knees and back problemsI will do it again... thank you for your reply
@@rosamanno1478 Thanks for your reply as well. I wish you good luck with your journey! Eating anti-inflammatory foods, eating only 2 meals a day (called "Intermittent Fasting") and drinking plenty of water in between, and doing an exercise that gets the heart rate up fast for only SHORT segments of time (15-20 minutes -- something like weightlifting), are all things that might help. Good luck! You can do it.
I have chronic migraines with the worst inflammation, my migraines are primarily triggered by weather changes. I made an anti-inflam smoothie after watching your video, all the pain I was experiencing (joints) left me! I wasn't expecting that, and it changed my entire day! Thanks for your videos!!

I'm working on my fertility and reducing inflammation and I am so pleased that all of the foods listed are part of my weekly diet as well.

My favourite quick snack is guacamole toast. For the bread I use a healthy sourdough type and toast it until it is just golden. Lots of fresh squeezed lemon juice in the guacamole too. I was diagnosed with a rheumatoid immune condition and told I would be on some type of toxic medication for the rest of my life. 8 months later and after following a strict anti-inflammatory diet with the help of an excellent naturopath, I am 98% back to normal. :-)

This was well displayed and easy to follow with my adhd brain. Too much information gets my brain overloaded and I end up not being able to listen to it, but this was perfect! I can even use this as my guide at the supermarket. Thank you!
I wonder that can we download this video..?
Me too!!!
Same!! Plus short enough to hold focus
This has been so satisfactory. It's great to see experts actually recommend the foods that you eat on a weekly basis. All these great foods form part of my/ our regular diet, and l have learnt great ways of preparing them on this channel. Thank you!

After a few health scares I have been on a quest to better my health. I am so happy I found your channel. I will definitely try some of your recipes and prep strategies.
This was so incredibly done. I appreciate the amount of info you gave without making it super long. Just subscribed and can’t wait to watch more!
I just “stumbled” onto your video looking for ways to heal my autoimmune problems with food . It’s so nice to hear someone address these issues without relying on medication and giving us practical recipes that don’t sound like they’ll break the bank. My main issues are fatigue (CFS) with brain fog. Hoping the food and recipes from your channel and website can help. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!
Just found this video and watched it twice, then shared with my son who’s fighting auto-immune issues as well. The biggest struggle must folks struggle with is the battle of the mind to make the first step. Thank you for sharing all these wonderful videos.
So true that the battle to begin new habits begins with the mind. I’m almost 70 & am trying by watching & studying UA-cam vids about healthy lifestyle to get it to sink in. There’s so much good info it’s hard to know how to begin putting it all into practice. I take notes, but it still hasn’t meshed. Gif bless you & your son on your wellness journey.
@@user-ei8rb7sj6c thats quite inspirational. my late mum always used to nag me into eating my greens, telling me it'll make me strong. i thought it was bogus, thought red meat is the way to grow muscles. turns out she was right all along.

I’ve been living with MS for 17 years (I’m 32 now), and now Rheumatoid Arthritis is added to the MonSter mix. I’ve been putting off changing my diet throughout my 20’s but now with both autoimmune diseases I have no choice.
I think it’s a safe bet that auto immune diseases often come in clusters (not just one) and a change in diet is a must if one wants to live a longer, less painful, and healthier life.
Thank you for making this video for auto-immune sufferers.
Anne boroch, candida cure, healing multiple sclerosis, it will take 2 years to rebalance, first 2 weeks my depression lifted then my vertigo, yeast overgrowth, balance it
Ouch, you waited for long. Well hopefully you'll heal. Mine came on quicker, I nearly died within a year so I had no choice but now the three pages on A4 full of symptoms are a lot better. Six years or so.
I took a lot of bone broth powder or freshly made too (with organic chicken bones, grass fed organic ghee, organic coconut oil, ACV and some salt. Also the fat from chicken skin helps, beef fat too. You'll likely have inflammation affecting your brain and cells, they need protection and healing). And fasting helps, A Lot (I do intermittent sometimes and longer every few months max).
I do recommend a daily salad, some nutritional yeast maybe (it depends on how you are perhaps as certain foods would mess me up and it varies), some cooked spinach could help, fish also too.
The right gut flora to digest certain foods properly is essential, but how you get them and what you need now, I don't know. It's a long road, but very necessary. Just as you think you've felt the worst, you still haven't. Never have. I've experienced emotions and physical symptoms I never even thought of.
Meditation could help, I used no focus tools and just went for a deep, "blank mind", meditation. Took away thought.
May God guide you and heal you, friend.
how's it going?
I reversed my RA on the medical medium info. Tried everything. Doctors, naturopaths etc Dropped all his ‘no’ foods. Took a year
It seems good to find a video that's loud enough to hear and someone who talks clearly.
IKR, no crappy musiccccc

It's satisfying, for sure.
And isn't long-winded and boring.
I am so so grateful for this video. I was just diagnosed with inflammatory disease, I’m so excited to feel better and fuel better💙
This was a great watch! I do regularly eat all the items on your list but I am now inspired to increase leafy greens and ginger. I have rheumatoid arthritis and your list of foods basically confirms that my diet has been a factor in keeping my RA under control! Thanks for this informative video.
I also ra.u have relief with this diet PlZ reply
Luv your recipes.! I’m GF and have been fighting with knee inflammation. I’m 50 and very active and your meals and ingredients have eliminated flair ups. It’s true food choices can alter/eliminate body inflammation. An rv oven and blender travel with me along with your receipts. Keep them coming!
THANK YOU! You have give answers to the plethora of questions I had about body issues and functions that I have. AND so much information on the foods you mentioned. Especially about the chia seed. I didn't realize the shelf life of it ---- that it is kind of like yeast, losing it's 'power' if it hangs around in storage too long. I have boat loads of it that I will probably have to toss now. I WILL test it, for sure. Hopefully I won't have to dump it. I found out the hard way that Flax seed is much like nuts, and goes rancid. So, am totall grateful for this informative video. Also, I am SO eager to try out all the recipes you mentioned, too!
After a grueling month of agonizing abdominal and back pain, extreme diarrhea, and a complete loss of appetite, I was hospitalized for extreme weight loss and dehydration. I was finally diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis (which explains my many years of random agonizing cramps), and after losing 30 lbs in 30 days (essentially turning into a stick man, since I was at a healthy weight before), I'm finally gaining back some of my weight and can eat regular meals again. I watched this video while making myself some avocado egg toast with salmon, so seeing avocado and salmon on your list was reassuring.
My mom had UC and went through the pain you went through. My heart goes out to you. I hope that you're feeling better now and are finding food that helps...this is a great channel!

Thank you for making this video. I've had to learn a lot about my own health recently, and I was surprised and delighted that I regularly consume all of these foods. I'm 70, been eating fairly healthy and exercising all my life. No alcohol etc. Feel good no problems so far, only had one full check 48 years ago. I didn't know about inflammation, going to check out what that is.

You had me with all things Fresh!! Garlic ginger, greens, fish, I love it all, and am so ready to start making and following your recipes!! Thank you!
I would add:
pomegranate to the berries
Tumeric to the ginger
All typs of onions to the garlic
mussels to the fatty fish
Olives or a high quality olive oil to the avocado
Mushrooms deserve their own point, so do legumes, if you can stomach them, greentea is great too, but people with anxiety might prefere to leave of coffain.
Tomatos are too crazy healthy and recomended for everyday consumption . . . But many people react to nightshades with inflamation and than it does the opposit of what it is suposed to do.
And I would add something prebiotic like inulin containing jerusalem artichokes, resistant starch or whatever.
Otherwise trying to eat as colorful and diverse as possible is the thing to thrive for. Colors often indicate healthbenifits and trying to get them all helps to asure you are well balanced.
Also as healthy as baby spinach is and as much I love it, it is simply healthier to eat a huge variety of greens than always the same. Bok choy, chard, (suiss) chard, all sorts of cabage, beet greens, turnip greens, arugula, morning glory, pennyworth, nettles . . . .in smaller quantities parsley, cilantro, basil, mugwort, mint, carrot greens . . . There are realy so freaking many things no one realy tried in favor of eating the same 5 dishes all their life

Thank you 🙏 so much for getting this information out to those of us who need it. I’ve recently received a diagnosis of AMAG (autoimmune metaplastic atrophic gastritis), along with pernicious anemia with very little guidance on what foods to eat and/or avoid. Thanks for creating this video, Lisa! Yes, I eat all of them except for broccoli, which somehow makes me really hungry, and chia seeds, which tend to get stuck in my gut. I have my own health issues and really make an effort to reduce inflammation. My diet is low-carb/Flexitarian. Thanks for putting this out there with anti-inflammatory foods/drinks. Sorry to hear about your 4 auto-immune conditions. Way to beat it.
I'm waaaay late to this video, but thank you for sharing this information. I have had Celiac for several years, and was recently diagnosed with three other autoimmune conditions, so I feel quite overwhelmed. This helps! 👍☺️
Thanks for sharing
Today I tried the banana snack with the almond butter and cranberries and almonds. It looked spectacular and tasted even better, and I am not starving, and it was healthy. Thank you so much for sharing and caring.

I have rheumatoid arthritis and this video has been crucial for me, thank you!
Amazingly, what you eat can change your health. I stopped eating red meat and try to chose healthier dairy products, and so far I have lost 20 pounds, have clearer vision, and I fell so much better.
You have pushed me so hard to cook with fresh, whole ingredients as well as getting into buying simple appliances to grate for seasoning purposes. My whole outlook on food and flavor has been altered. You are so great of an inspiration when it comes to creativity in the kitchen, thank you.
I am so happy to hear my recipes and lifestyle tips are helping you to get into healthy habits 😊
