ANTI-INFLAMMATORY FOODS | what I eat every week

  • These are the anti-inflammatory foods I eat every week to reduce inflammation in my body. An anti-inflammatory diet can help with reducing joint pain and arthritis, healing the gut (key if you have celiac, ulcerative colitis, Crohn's or IBS), getting rid of eczema and psoriasis, and keeping other autoimmune conditions such as diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis in check. It's also beneficial if you suffer from anxiety or depression.
I became well versed in wholesome, anti-inflammatory foods several years ago when I embraced a whole foods diet. After being diagnosed with four autoimmune diseases in two years I realized my body was fighting massive immune system inflammation and I needed to provide reinforcements. Those reinforcements came in the form of groceries.
Watch the video for the list of anti-inflammatory foods - it's what I eat every week. And enjoy the full blog post below all the healthy recipes on my website!

Downshiftology I’m so glad you said this. The important thing here is to study and be aware. Example. I have type two diabetes. Due to the concentration of sugar at one time making smoothies is not the best choice to make. Instead I should stick with heating maybe a palms worth of berries whole. Is this the correct thinking?

Ouch, you waited for long. Well hopefully you'll heal. Mine came on quicker, I nearly died within a year so I had no choice but now the three pages on A4 full of symptoms are a lot better. Six years or so.
I took a lot of bone broth powder or freshly made too (with organic chicken bones, grass fed organic ghee, organic coconut oil, ACV and some salt. Also the fat from chicken skin helps, beef fat too. You'll likely have inflammation affecting your brain and cells, they need protection and healing). And fasting helps, A Lot (I do intermittent sometimes and longer every few months max).
I do recommend a daily salad, some nutritional yeast maybe (it depends on how you are perhaps as certain foods would mess me up and it varies), some cooked spinach could help, fish also too.
The right gut flora to digest certain foods properly is essential, but how you get them and what you need now, I don't know. It's a long road, but very necessary. Just as you think you've felt the worst, you still haven't. Never have. I've experienced emotions and physical symptoms I never even thought of.
Meditation could help, I used no focus tools and just went for a deep, "blank mind", meditation. Took away thought.

THANK YOU! You have give answers to the plethora of questions I had about body issues and functions that I have. AND so much information on the foods you mentioned. Especially about the chia seed. I didn't realize the shelf life of it ---- that it is kind of like yeast, losing it's 'power' if it hangs around in storage too long. I have boat loads of it that I will probably have to toss now. I WILL test it, for sure. Hopefully I won't have to dump it. I found out the hard way that Flax seed is much like nuts, and goes rancid. So, am totall grateful for this informative video. Also, I am SO eager to try out all the recipes you mentioned, too!

After a grueling month of agonizing abdominal and back pain, extreme diarrhea, and a complete loss of appetite, I was hospitalized for extreme weight loss and dehydration. I was finally diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis (which explains my many years of random agonizing cramps), and after losing 30 lbs in 30 days (essentially turning into a stick man, since I was at a healthy weight before), I'm finally gaining back some of my weight and can eat regular meals again. I watched this video while making myself some avocado egg toast with salmon, so seeing avocado and salmon on your list was reassuring.

    I would add:
    pomegranate to the berries
    Tumeric to the ginger
All typs of onions to the garlic
    mussels to the fatty fish
Olives or a high quality olive oil to the avocado
Mushrooms deserve their own point, so do legumes, if you can stomach them, greentea is great too, but people with anxiety might prefere to leave of coffain.
Tomatos are too crazy healthy and recomended for everyday consumption . . . But many people react to nightshades with inflamation and than it does the opposit of what it is suposed to do.
And I would add something prebiotic like inulin containing jerusalem artichokes, resistant starch or whatever.
Otherwise trying to eat as colorful and diverse as possible is the thing to thrive for. Colors often indicate healthbenifits and trying to get them all helps to asure you are well balanced.
Also as healthy as baby spinach is and as much I love it, it is simply healthier to eat a huge variety of greens than always the same. Bok choy, chard, (suiss) chard, all sorts of cabage, beet greens, turnip greens, arugula, morning glory, pennyworth, nettles . . . .in smaller quantities parsley, cilantro, basil, mugwort, mint, carrot greens . . . There are realy so freaking many things no one realy tried in favor of eating the same 5 dishes all their life
