I think this is just a joke, based on an incident reported in the book that Richard Cole wrote about Led Zeppelin - the incident was that one of them slept with a transvestite without realising it at first but when he found out, said he didn't care. I don't know if it's true or who the person was. Plant said most of the book was inaccurate. If the story was meant to be about JPJ, maybe Plant still jokes about it - maybe JPJ stayed friends with the person.

With him and the band dressing in drag, doing gay stuff with their manager (as in posing in odd positions, kissing him, Robert kissing Phil Collins, etc., lol), never saying hateful stuff towards gays or the most part, liking QUEEN (and honestly I think they might have helped them get started and have their success believe it or not as I think they consciously knew they and Black Sabbath were exaggerated extensions of Zep as far as I'm concerned; one being a more heavy horror themed focused group and the other a more gay in a bi way. If anything I think Jimmy would have been more likely to be homophobic in the lot of them as he did not respond well to a lady reporter who thought he and Robert were a couple and did not get along with Bowie.
