Matthew McConaughey stars in Jean-Marc Vallée’s DALLAS BUYERS CLUB as real-life Texas cowboy Ron Woodroof, whose freewheeling ways are cut short in 1985 when he is diagnosed as HIV-positive and given 30 days to live. Shunned by many of his old friends and unable to access possible life-saving treatments, Woodroof takes matters into his own hands and starts a “buyers club” with a HIV+ transsexual Rayon (Jared Leto). Rejecting the advice of his physician, Dr .Eve Saks (Jennifer Garner), Woodroof tracks down alternative treatments from all over the world, thus prolonging his life, and the life of others around him. Also starring Denis O’Hare, Steve Zahn, Dallas Roberts, and Griffen Dunne.

What a movie ! the level of admiration I have for McConaughey skyrocketed after seeing it. For those people out there who still enjoy real films - intense, real story based on real facts and displaying life-like characters and not the CGI crap- you are going to love it. It was on Netflix not so long ago and I'm pretty sure it'll be back.
I am a 33 years old guy and since I was 20 I am positive!! Polluted with blood 's transfusions I Am ETERO OF COURSE!! I TURNED OUT BEEING POSITIVE NOW I AM NEGATIVE AND I HAVE WRITTEN A BOOK ABOUT MY LIFE!!! And My STORY / TRAGEDY I HAVE HAD PART OF THE JUSTICE!

I tend to,think movies today suck but there are a few that knock it out of the park and thus give me hope. This one is a grand slam.
Thanks for the clips. I can't watch the show I would bawl my eyes out, but seeing these clips makes me have hope for the future of the human race. One man at death's door against the entire world's corrupt drug corporations. They don't want a cure. They want to make money from the "treatment".

I can see Jared's Triad tattoo on his left arm near his elbow!!!!!!! I don't now how that did't get covered up or how they didn't reshoot it. I guess that's the deal with independent films. But whatever. I don't care. It's going to be a very fine movie. Can't wait to see it :)

This film will destroy me .I will fall in love with Rayon as a person and then the inevitable death scene and then there is the fact it is based on real people.

As good as this story is, the message I got from it was: "Don't let this happen to you."
That's why people should ALWAYS use condoms; and observe all safe-sex practices, as well as NOT sharing needles.
Yeah risk can make things exciting, but remember you have to live with the consequences of each and every choice and decision you make.

If I was a health or phys Ed teacher in a high school I would show this film to my class each year. Then we would discuss it and talk about the themes and ideals in it.
This film is so much more than just a film about HIV/AIDS. It actually changed my entire viewpoint on combating illness. Treat and minimize the symptoms rather than obliterate the disease (which ends up killing healthy cells and tissue as well). Take COVID for example, and how myself nor my gf or her kids ever got vackseened (spelled wrong deliberately) then when we finally all got it in late 2021, we combated the symptoms with vitamins, healthy diet, lots of water, taking care of each other, etc. We were only sick for a couple days then it subsided and within 2 weeks I felt normal and was back at work.

At least in your country you have a release date. It may be too long, but I'm quite sure the wait will definitely be worth it.
But here, in the Philippines, this film has no release date. And now I'm thinking that it'll never be released here or maybe it will but it's going to be later than March 2014.
