So this hit like the literal day after the Astronaut was released. So we were already fresh in our feels. The fact Argentinian armys were singing along and knew the words already tells you how down bad we were. So we're already emotionally vulnerable from the military situation, the song (for many like myself the reality of him leaving hadnt hit til watching the mv), and then we get this performance. The best way i can describe how it made me feel watching it was like someone had poured lemon juice into a fresh open wound and sprinkled some salt on top, but then placed a bandaid on it, kissed it to make it feel better, and gave me a lollipop and a hug.
Yes, we were all crying. So many ARMY went to that concert to see Jin off. Our first member embarking on this journey. I LOVE BTS so much and I love that Chris gave him this.
Jin’s voice is beautiful and emotional. His playlist is amazing! Every member has list of solo songs as you probably know by now. For me Jin has the best emotional voice. His songs Epiphany, Awake and Abyss makes me cry because he is singing about himself. Since he neither had singing or dancing background he trained extra hard to keep up with other members. When everyone was sleeping he would practice more. He probably felt for a long time his talents were inferior compared to rest of members. His song Awake addresses his feelings of inferiority in my opinion but I could be wrong. The words to the song just stabbed my heart when I first heard it.
It was a short time after the Busan concert. Jin just got out of a serious illness, that's why his voice wasn't a 100% but he still pulled it off like a true leJINd. PS. The flight was about 35 hours. FUN FACT: Jin (who's also called a Moon by the ARMYs) was flying there at the time of a partial solar eclipse (covered by none other than the Moon itself). I got teary-eyed when I remembered that after he flew to Buenos Aires. Even the space prepared a proper send-off to our Astronaut.
honestly i didn't cry when the enlistment was announced or when the song came out but it all hit me like a truck when i saw this performance at the cinema and i couldn't stop crying, i was a MESS
I always say, I don't want a perfect BTS, I want a REAL BTS. They ALWAYS sing live, despite the nerves, the technical issues, the dancing, the language barriers etc. Props to Jin, singing with his idol.💜
I was there, I didn't cry at that momento, I was just singing my ass off lol But when I was coming home I felt so bittersweet because this was the first time any of them were here and it was to say goodbye. Also, I want to mention that this concert was sold out for months, maybe a year. I got lucky and my sister got me one ticket. There were a lot of armys but, of course, almost all of them were fans of Coldplay. Nevertheless, they cheered and applauded just as we did. It was truly beautiful.

I broke down crying by the end of this performance the several times I've watched it... Jin has an air of innocence to him that really moves you. The mic thing 😭😭😭😭lmaoooo Yeah. Jin was the first vocal line member to move into the bighit dorms.... I definitely blame the rapline for this. Back in the day they even tried to make jin and the rest of the vocalists rap. They did their best. 😭
holding the mic like that just feels so much more natural especially with the weight of it. Plus sometimes you forget your spacing and can hit your teeth and we dont want that either. But i find it so funny that no matter how big anyone gets mic technique slips even in the heavens.

Jin is not my bias nor bias wrecker but I cried everytime I hear this song. Seeing him go is actually painful. Feels like sending off my own son. Whenever there's update on Jin, I cried again...haishhh just can't control it. Imagine got to do another 6 times.

Here is a 50+ old man ARMY watching this in tears. Jin is so genuine nice young man. From the debuted time asking the crying girl "are you ok?" (Although later found out it was a prank to each member) to dedicate this song to ARMY before joing the the army.
I wasn’t there but every time I see this performance tears come to my eyes. It’s sad because I know it’s a good bye for now but it is so very beautiful as well. They all pulled it off very well. I’ve heard several people making comments about how they hold the 🎤 and after all this time they still do it 😂. It must have been so strange to be there without the other members but he did well. So proud.
My man Jin is the King of Live vocals, you should react to Jin’s legendary high notes compilation video, the record or CD track/version does not do this man justice. Vocals are top tier and he does sing with emotion and makes you feel something when he sings.
And as emotional as that performance was for everyone Jin still gave us a cheerful smile and trotted gleefully off the stage, always a mark of positivity.
Thank you. Jin wouldn't have had a goodbye stage if Chris hadn't offered to give him the chance to perform at their concert with them. I will always be thankful to Coldplay for giving Jin this song and this opportunity. Chris showed up one night at the PTD in LA concert and took the stage with BTS for My Universe. He was very insistent that it was their concert and their stage and so he didn't take the spotlight even though the guys tried to get him to. As soon as the song was finished he left the stage. Well, when Jin said the same thing to Chris that is was his concert and his stage, Chris wouldn't have it and insisted that Jin be the whole spotlight for The Astronaut.

Song was out less than 24hrs, he announced just a few days before that he'd appear at Coldplay's concert to premiere his song and I'm so proud of Argentina ARMY who showed up with the signs, loud chants and already knew the song words for words!! The concert was also broadcasted worldwide in cinemas! People were crying during the session! I watched it at home! I really cried only 3 times in 2022, 1 was a family matter, the 2nd was the Festa dinner and this was the 3rd time 🥲 So thankful for Coldplay as well one of their few friends in the industry! Their relationship means sm! This was a monumental day in ARMY history.. On top of that, this was his first solo stage outside the group and it is Argentina's largest stadium, Hobi was headlining Lollapalooza and pulling the largest crowd in the festival history, Joon was NPR and JK was the World Cup opening ceremony! Their first steps as soloists are crazy! So proud 🥲 10 years in but I feel like it's just the beginning for them💜
Bruv even though I wasn't physically there when Jin showed up I started yelling and I DEFINITELY teared up at the end when Chris and Jin started singing together and he hit that last I love you... I'm still feeling emotional! Mans apart of the biggest band in the world and really flew 35hrs just to sing ONE SONG like the way you have to be so humble to do something like this. And he on stage alone for the first time ever ina foreign country! As a group Jin is loud and chaotic, but he's actually introverted and really shy when he's on his own. Went to see the whole concert in the cinema for this and didn't regret it one bit. So happy he got to do this. One and only performance of the song, and truly created a monumental moment 🥲
I think that was his first time ever to travel alone so far and perform without BTS near him. And it was at the same time his last performance for two years. And probably still recovering from heavy illness (I still have no clue how he pulled out the whole intense Busan concert in his condition). And dealing with hate towards him he received for not going to the military sooner and the fact that he was almost forced not to do it sooner because of that Busan concert. And the prospect to enlist the military in winter which he hoped to avoid. He did so well. I'm impressed with his sheer fortitude. They had the Busan concert the week before this where Jin was dealing with Epiglottitis, getting IV meds just so he could still perform, then he traveled to do this concert, the travel taking 24hrs. He must have been tired but didn't show it.

for me during this perfomance and during yet to come in busan, jin feels like he's gonna cry he doesn't cry as much as the other members, I think we've seen him cry like two times over the years, but his eyes are super glossy with tears for this whole perfomance and during yet to come, and he looks like he's delivering something that had been weighing on him for a while just a background on what happened, the debate in Korea about whether bts would or not get exempt from the military went on for a long long time, like for about 4 years, basically, and in the meantime, people were dragging them in the mudd, particularly jin, cuz he's the oldest and had to enlist first they got a lot of shit from people who opposed the exemption, from ppl who went to the military, from other fandoms who wanted exemptions for their own groups, etc however bts or hybe never said anything about not serving, never took any actions towards the government, they had never said anything about the military until the day after the busan concert in October last year yet because they were the ones which the government was talking about exempting, they still got bashed A LOT also, jin said in a live that bts's company, hybe, asked them not to address this subject (probably cuz it would decrease the value of their stocks, as it happened after they announced they were in fact going to serve), so jin had to silently sit through 4 years of his name being dragged left and right for "not serving" or "getting an exemption" and he couldn't talk about it, he even called the military subject bts's voldemort so yeah, the yet to come in busan and this perfomance were a huge pile of emotions for him and for everyone involved who knew what these meant

I don't know anything about microphone technique, but to my mind, every single vocalist in BTS does this - and I'll chalk it up to two causes 1. They learned/honed their singing from the very beginning around established rappers RM & Suga and must have emulated their mic style 2. Their customized mics are famous for being studded with hundreds of crystals/rhinestones - and I can imagine that isn't the most comfortable surface to hold within the hand, so gripping it higher around the head would probably feel better than the rough crystals

He actually had a lot of issue with his voice developing inflammation etc. he actually practically had no voice prior to this performance and had to work with ent doctors to get it back just for this performance. They say it was painful for him but he didn’t want to disappoint ARMY. I think he killed it

He would have learned and practiced Korean pronunciation for it, and I feel more grateful to know that it's not easy.😭 This song reminds me Jin's speech in 2018 MAMA. Jin said in his acceptance speech at the 2018 MAMA that BTS suddenly became famous worldwide and had a hard time for a year due to great pressure and fear. They even thought about disbanding. However, after a year of talking and contemplating with the members, they decided to stay in the industry only for the fans and members. They stayed for ARMY even though they had a chance to return to their normal lives. And at the last concert in Busan, SUGA told ARMY to grow old together because they will make music for another 20 or 30 years. BTS' love for ARMY is very deep, and they always show their love through their music. The Astrounaut is one such song. I can feel the love so well through Jin's voice, and I love him so much. 😭

I just watched Yet to come in theatre earlier and seeing Jin made me tear up. And then this ..gosh.. TBH..no other band nor artist can do this to me. Yes..i do like other artists and bands of course..just for their songs..but fir BTS, its all different...they have us on a personal level. I will be honest I am not the biggest cryer so when this song came out I had a belayed reaction. It took a bit for it to hit and I teared up really good. Then I watched this and rested up even more… When you were talking about how he is holding the mic I think it is because of many reasons; 1. When he was training the company honestly didn’t have much of a program but they did their best 2. Usually they are dancing a lot so I am sure it is hard to make sure you hold the microphone correctly 3. Maybe it is habit because you do see him do it quite a bit. 4. His voice is acting pretty loud and projects a lot and he usually is singing high notes, so idk if he does that so it doesn’t make noise and stuff when he belts (however I do know they can fix a lot of that stuff beforehand)…5. He literally is the oldest member but without any knowledge about music before joining so he has had to work really hard to keep up and get better with the rest of the members… Jin is one of the best members, in my opinion, at sharing his feelings through singing. I love his solo songs just because I can feel his emotion behind them… Also apparently Chris told him he could give a little speech but Jin was humble enough he didn’t want to take over it take Coldplay’s time and their own performance so he didn’t…
they livestreamed this in the movie theaters and i went to attend and i very much cried and screamed this song. i was the louded person in that movie theater and honestly. i didn't gaf and i don't regret anything. everyone else was there simply just for coldplay. while i enjoyed the concert fully and it was beautiful i was mainly there for jin and I'm so blessed to have experienced that.

When that video was released I didn't cry, I kind of cried my eyes out when somebody thought it was a good idea to put the song for youth in the background of the video where the BTS members saw him off to the military...like "I will be with you for rest of my life" hit soooo hard. Then I rewatched this Video and it was harder not to cry again.

I cried like a baby the first time i seen this and also the 100 times after that I watched it. Our Jin is deeply loved by us and loves us back so much. I watched when he went into the military and will wait and watch when he gets out like millions of BTS fans. I am so happy to see that he is doing well and eagerly waiting for his return to us June of 2024. Thank's to Cold Play, Jin had the chance to spend one last night with ARMY to sing his song to us.
There is this beautiful give and take going on where Chris is trying to push Jin to the center stage and Jin is trying not to step on Coldplay’s toes.
I cried for him. Jin always talks about being without his brothers is like leaving your wallet or phone. Seeing him perform on this large stage without his brothers and do soooo well considering all that went behind it was heart breaking and touching. These guys really deserve great things.
Yeah the mic thing, so many vocal coaches who have reacted to them over the years are so confused how they can be so popular, experienced and good while holding the mic 'wrong' haha especially since all members from the vocal line do it so often that I can even say they do it most of the time hahah

Here is a 50+ old man ARMY watching this in tears. Jin is so genuine nice young man. From the debuted time asking the crying girl "are you ok?" (Although later found out it was a prank to each member) to dedicate this song to ARMY before joing the the army.
I wasn’t there but every time I see this performance tears come to my eyes. It’s sad because I know it’s a good bye for now but it is so very beautiful as well. They all pulled it off very well. I’ve heard several people making comments about how they hold the 🎤 and after all this time they still do it 😂. It must have been so strange to be there without the other members but he did well. So proud.
My man Jin is the King of Live vocals, you should react to Jin’s legendary high notes compilation video, the record or CD track/version does not do this man justice. Vocals are top tier and he does sing with emotion and makes you feel something when he sings.
And as emotional as that performance was for everyone Jin still gave us a cheerful smile and trotted gleefully off the stage, always a mark of positivity.
Thank you. Jin wouldn't have had a goodbye stage if Chris hadn't offered to give him the chance to perform at their concert with them. I will always be thankful to Coldplay for giving Jin this song and this opportunity. Chris showed up one night at the PTD in LA concert and took the stage with BTS for My Universe. He was very insistent that it was their concert and their stage and so he didn't take the spotlight even though the guys tried to get him to. As soon as the song was finished he left the stage. Well, when Jin said the same thing to Chris that is was his concert and his stage, Chris wouldn't have it and insisted that Jin be the whole spotlight for The Astronaut.

Song was out less than 24hrs, he announced just a few days before that he'd appear at Coldplay's concert to premiere his song and I'm so proud of Argentina ARMY who showed up with the signs, loud chants and already knew the song words for words!!
The concert was also broadcasted worldwide in cinemas! People were crying during the session!
I watched it at home! I really cried only 3 times in 2022, 1 was a family matter, the 2nd was the Festa dinner and this was the 3rd time 🥲 So thankful for Coldplay as well one of their few friends in the industry! Their relationship means sm!

On top of that, this was his first solo stage outside the group and it is Argentina's largest stadium, Hobi was headlining Lollapalooza and pulling the largest crowd in the festival history, Joon was NPR and JK was the World Cup opening ceremony! Their first steps as soloists are crazy! So proud 🥲

And he on stage alone for the first time ever ina foreign country! As a group Jin is loud and chaotic, but he's actually introverted and really shy when he's on his own. Went to see the whole concert in the cinema for this and didn't regret it one bit. So happy he got to do this. One and only performance of the song, and truly created a monumental moment 🥲
I think that was his first time ever to travel alone so far and perform without BTS near him. And it was at the same time his last performance for two years. And probably still recovering from heavy illness (I still have no clue how he pulled out the whole intense Busan concert in his condition). And dealing with hate towards him he received for not going to the military sooner and the fact that he was almost forced not to do it sooner because of that Busan concert. And the prospect to enlist the military in winter which he hoped to avoid. He did so well.

I'm impressed with his sheer fortitude. They had the Busan concert the week before this where Jin was dealing with Epiglottitis, getting IV meds just so he could still perform, then he traveled to do this concert, the travel taking 24hrs. He must have been tired but didn't show it.
I understand Jin travelled 30+ hours (one way) including long stopover in NY.

just a background on what happened, the debate in Korea about whether bts would or not get exempt from the military went on for a long long time, like for about 4 years, basically, and in the meantime, people were dragging them in the mudd, particularly jin, cuz he's the oldest and had to enlist first
they got a lot of shit from people who opposed the exemption, from ppl who went to the military, from other fandoms who wanted exemptions for their own groups, etc
however bts or hybe never said anything about not serving, never took any actions towards the government, they had never said anything about the military until the day after the busan concert in October last year
yet because they were the ones which the government was talking about exempting, they still got bashed A LOT
also, jin said in a live that bts's company, hybe, asked them not to address this subject (probably cuz it would decrease the value of their stocks, as it happened after they announced they were in fact going to serve), so jin had to silently sit through 4 years of his name being dragged left and right for "not serving" or "getting an exemption" and he couldn't talk about it, he even called the military subject bts's voldemort
so yeah, the yet to come in busan and this perfomance were a huge pile of emotions for him and for everyone involved who knew what these meant

I don't know anything about microphone technique, but to my mind, every single vocalist in BTS does this - and I'll chalk it up to two causes
1. They learned/honed their singing from the very beginning around established rappers RM & Suga and must have emulated their mic style
2. Their customized mics are famous for being studded with hundreds of crystals/rhinestones - and I can imagine that isn't the most comfortable surface to hold within the hand, so gripping it higher around the head would probably feel better than the rough crystals
Argentina has one of the largest BTS fanbasss in the world! Top10 statistically and second only to Mexico in Hispanic and Latin America countries , also Brazil and Peru are top 15.. Venezuela too 💜

First time I cried when the enlistment came & 2nd time I cried watching this performance & 3rd time I cried after seeing Jin's buzz cut, that time the truth hit so hard because I was in denial 😭😭
He actually had a lot of issue with his voice developing inflammation etc. he actually practically had no voice prior to this performance and had to work with ent doctors to get it back just for this performance. They say it was painful for him but he didn’t want to disappoint ARMY. I think he killed it

This song reminds me Jin's speech in 2018 MAMA. Jin said in his acceptance speech at the 2018 MAMA that BTS suddenly became famous worldwide and had a hard time for a year due to great pressure and fear. They even thought about disbanding. However, after a year of talking and contemplating with the members, they decided to stay in the industry only for the fans and members. They stayed for ARMY even though they had a chance to return to their normal lives. And at the last concert in Busan, SUGA told ARMY to grow old together because they will make music for another 20 or 30 years.
BTS' love for ARMY is very deep, and they always show their love through their music. The Astrounaut is one such song.

I just watched Yet to come in theatre earlier and seeing Jin made me tear up. And then this ..gosh..
TBH..no other band nor artist can do this to me. Yes..i do like other artists and bands of course..just for their songs..but fir BTS, its all different...they have us on a personal level. And i know i cant love another band of people the way i do them. The connection they have with ARMY..is not just their great artistry but also them as human beings

When you were talking about how he is holding the mic I think it is because of many reasons; 1. When he was training the company honestly didn’t have much of a program but they did their best 2. Usually they are dancing a lot so I am sure it is hard to make sure you hold the microphone correctly 3. Maybe it is habit because you do see him do it quite a bit. 4. His voice is acting pretty loud and projects a lot and he usually is singing high notes, so idk if he does that so it doesn’t make noise and stuff when he belts (however I do know they can fix a lot of that stuff beforehand)…5. He literally is the oldest member but without any knowledge about music before joining so he has had to work really hard to keep up and get better with the rest of the members…
Jin is one of the best members, in my opinion, at sharing his feelings through singing. I love his solo songs just because I can feel his emotion behind them…
Also apparently Chris told him he could give a little speech but Jin was humble enough he didn’t want to take over it take Coldplay’s time and their own performance so he didn’t…

they livestreamed this in the movie theaters and i went to attend and i very much cried and screamed this song. i was the louded person in that movie theater and honestly. i didn't gaf and i don't regret anything. everyone else was there simply just for coldplay. while i enjoyed the concert fully and it was beautiful i was mainly there for jin and I'm so blessed to have experienced that.

Jin is the member that hits me emotionally the most. ❤ His voice is actually INCREDIBLE!!!!! Sooo powerful 💪🏽 And his love for ARMY is humbling and pure. He NEVER forgets us. The MV took me by surprise too. I cried uncontrollably for days ( I still do ) 😭 Especially with all the ARMY references and his amazing vocals/visuals. Jin is the BEST. When that video was released I didn't cry, I kind of cried my eyes out when somebody thought it was a good idea to put the song for youth in the background of the video where the BTS members saw him off to the military...like "I will be with you for rest of my life" hit soooo hard. Then I rewatched this Video and it was harder not to cry again.
