Sugar's fruit honestly sound like something a neglected child might think up. Forcing people who generally don't have time for you to play with you until your satisfied, no one will interrupt you as theyll be forgotten and never having to grow up. Fairly innocent from a child's perspective
but the contract and other things are way too specific.
@@bhabinbashyal honestly I've only read dressrossa once so I don't remember a whole lot about the contracts but from what I can recall It could be similar to how kids role play with their toys? Through contracts maybe the toys have to fulfill specific roles and commands like how you wouldn't expect a barbie doll at a tea party to start spontaneous battle rapping idk? Just like how sabo and ace use the mera mera slightly differently I'm sure something as specific as a contract could be adapted more innocently by a kid

I could imagine the contract being similar to Table manners for a tea party and what not. but tbh I see it as this neglected child growing up bitter about their desires, ultimately dying and causing the fruit to spawn from their unfulfilled desire.

One slave dies hoping Nika will save them but realizes before death that it was all a myth, giving rise to the real Nika through the fruit based on your theory on how they grow

The best positive spin I can give the creation of the a Hobi Hobi no Mi is that it's from an extremely traumatized child who just wanted bad people to go away and to forget they exist and leave them to their toys. The contractual part of the fruit comes from a certain devilish twisting of "playtime" where the child gets to do anything to the toys because real toys can't really object or consent to their treatment, only be controlled by the whims of the child.
Out of this entire video, I think the Tequila Wolf theory is just awesome in the most messed up way. It's such a fucking perfect encapsulation of the horrors of the Celestial Dragons. It's something they would totally do, and there wouldn't even be a logical reason to the evilness, it's purely because they can do it.
I think similarly the memo memo no mi is created by someone who only ever had negative moments in their lives and wanted to be rid of them, to live a life where they could be happy without any bad memories weighing them down.
Or maybe a toy maker who wants the world to forget the bad things/people and always be able to make people happy with their toys. In decent hands that MIGHT be something you could use for a somewhat good especially if it removes memories of bad things from people, but in the wrong hands you get its use in One Piece that we see.
Sugar's originator could be a child who wanted toys and friends who couldn't abandon them
or parents who could play with them forever, just like toys, and their jobs would forget about them so they never had to leave for work.

I think it's fitting for desires to get twisted much like how when you ask for a wish from a devil in fiction it tends to be not how you pictured it or desired it.

Concerning the evil dreams theory, I feel like you could probably explain most, if not all, those seemingly evil powers with children's dreams. Children will wish for the wildest things without thinking about consequences. Especially if they have been hurt or are suffering on some way. For example, a child might wish for the ability to remove memories because of the wish to remove some trauma, or maybe a child is overreacting because people won't play with them enough, so they wish for the ability to eternally play with them even if they don't want to, which might result in Sugar's DF.
Sugars fruit could just be the desire to be a child forever. The turning people into toys ability might not even have been an intentional part.
I really love the darker side of one piece, the eeriness of the series is subtle but enough to make you ask questions.
Sugar's fruit seems like a 5 year old that doesnt want to ever grow up, and just wants people to play with but hasnt figured out consent yet

Now that we've heard about world flooding, what if Tequila Wolf is meant to be a way to travel after the sea levels rise? It likely wont be more than the prison you mentioned, but i think it'd be just another clue to the end of the world.

I think some of the powers evolve overtime. For instance the hobby fruit the progenitor probably just wished they could play with mommy and daddy the way they do with their dolls, then another user just wanted to play like a kid forever and ever, etc.

I personally have a theory that is really far fetched but could still possibly happen. S-snake is obviously smitten with luffy, so I could see the seraphim being let loose by york and she sides with the straw hats and escapes with them. Then on elbaf she wants to join the crew so one of the remaining satellites reprograms her to remove the order hierarchy and give her free will (or something like that) Theres like no chance this will ever happen but itd be a really cool way to see how the seraphim grow. I still think bonney is a guaranteed member of the crew though

Here's my addition to vegapunk's theory what if someone ate a devil fruit and then thought I would like to do this and modified the devil fruit (this can be explained by awakening) or how sugar's fruit could have been originally made by a kid but got modified
Thinking about it, we actually have a demon trio in the Strawhat crew consisting of Swords Demon Zorro, Devil child Robin, and Soulking Brook.
My theory on devil fruits being the wishes of past people is that the fruits aren't exactly what the person wants but rather an over the top or twisted way of fulfilling their desire.
Like the hobby fruit, it could be derived from the wish of a child who wanted nothing more but to have as many toys as they want and to play with them forever.
We can reconstruct what happened 800 years ago. The Ancient Kindom learned of the rising sea (they might even caused it by using the Mother Flame). The 20 kingdoms (later World Government) found out and fought a war to get on one of the only safe places, the Red Line(this is why they left their kingdoms, except Lili). They need to keep the flooding secret, or everyone will want to get on the Red Line, too.
I also noticed something interesting: Joy Boy's allies are unaffected by flooding. Wano built a wall, fishmen and sky people don't care, minks have Zou and the giants have the tree Adam.
Just seeing the bridge reminds me that One Piece has so many unsolved mysteries

The yami yami no mi is actually a mythical zoan under an alias just like the hito hito no mi: model nika. That's why Blackbeard can't become intangible. Rather than becoming darkness, he became a god of darkness.
All the different races in the One Piece world are the result of the original devil fruit users having children and passing on mutant traits. the world government banished the mutants to distant islands, restricted access to devil fruits as tightly as possible, and enacted a global conspiracy to cover it up (the void century). A few more benign mutants passed under the radar, and that's why we have 20 foot tall humans, humans with horns, and humans with sharp teeth.
Pika's devil fruit would probably have that bridge built in a year as long as they had enough stone to supply him for its construction but theoretically he'd be able to just keep pulling it from the earth.

about the bridge, if you ever watched kino no tabi, one kingdom does exactly that form of torture, but instead of a bridge it is a rail road they send one worker to disassemble the parts of the rails away after 5 years they sent another one to align it back together and after 5 years they send another one to assemble the rail again.

Occam's razor doesn't state that the simplest explanation is the correct one; it states that the explanation with the least assumptions is likely the correct one. The simplest explanation to everything, could simply be "god did it" or just "magic". It's essential that you understand the principle correctly, when using it.
I had already deduced the basic concept of "The Dark Desires Theory" when I first heard about Vegapunk's musings on Devil Fruits being born from desires/wishes. There are indeed Devil Fruits that were born of pure intentioned people with the desire to better the world, just as there were evil people wanting to destroy or enslave the world. The worst case scenario is Devil Fruits born of good intentions being perverted by current users with wicked and dangerous ideas for selfish gain, if not worse.
If name matters Demons are not a thing, only demonic actions are. However if names don't matter a Demon is like Gear 5. It is a temporary presence that gets turned on when a specific action is done. This is not a theory, so it is fine for anyone to use it.

I think many devil fruits are actually twisted interpretations of more innocent desires. Like, the hobby-hobby fruit could have formed from a desire to always have someone willing to play their games. Could have just been a lonely child who had trouble making friends. The orders you can give toys comes from the simple act of creating rules for the games you play.
Actually the bridge itself proposes an even worse fate for a Pirate Theme World:
Land.
Easily defensible and predictable Land.
In this world, it's far easier to handle highwaymen than pirates.

I have a different view on Soru Soru No Mi, it might also be used by a lonely person trying to make plants and buildings talk with him/her by providing his/her soul even if it shortens the user life, big mom taking donations and from enemy is misuse else she also use it by providing souls to plants and buildings "families" or something making all lively. that's sure for someone who fears loneliness.

I have always thought the D. stood for Dreamer. And that the D. Clan had the ability to manifest their dreams. Either like Luffy/Roger and make their dreams come true themselves, or now that we know Vegapunks theory about DF's literally manifest the power of their dreams as a fruit.

Now that I think about it, I don't think the existence of souls is actually confirmed. It's like what vegapunk says about devil fruits, you don't even need to think about if souls exist for the powers to work as long as someone dreamed it up

I think that Dolflamingo rescued Sugar & Monet from a culling tournament and their fruits are the prizes from that tourament which Dolflamingo stole and they ate them.
The effects of the hobby hobby fruit could also stem from incomplete desires. The manipulation part could be the result of a "be careful what you wish for" type of deal. "I wish the people near me want to play with me", sure you can now force them to do so through this nifty contract concept, just touch them.
