ah finally, serotonin
This was a beautiful journey. I’m excited for the channel to slowly become an improv sitcom between you and Caleb in motel rooms across America.
Don't forget the four-hour barbecue mukbangs!
there is just something that's so pessimistic and self-ironic but yet so spot-on about your humour in these videos that keeps me addicted.. It is just too relatable. Always cheers me up big time
Jason's Post-ironic grace
Same here, the exact reason why I'm a sucker for Jason's videos!
Btw nice avatar! I loved the Moomins as a kid! And still do...
self deprecation?
Would you say he's almost a bit 'NEGATIVE'?
Thoroughly enjoyable from beginning to end.
* The motel sign with the deep sky.
* Pretty much all your B&W work for exposure and crispness. The building exteriors are really great, consistently making pleasing images from sketchy structures. Leveraging on that, the ghost town shots were particularly good examples of such.
* The pink bathroom. I never thought a toilet could look so pretty or apropos for the decor. The shower was nice too. (Your little fake-out was hysterical.)
* The booze ad setup.
* The outdoor shots, especially that hidden lake. Again, crisp.
* Those Fuji colors do rock. The Gold performed well too.
* The quaint motels and their quaint surroundings.
* The food...just the talk of it made it sound so good.
* Your narrative, which pulled me along like a river of syrup. You really have a good voice for this.
* The entire road trip atmosphere throughout.
* With all the talk of showers and stinking, you needed a beach volleyball scene.
Although longer than usual, this was good flypaper. I was stuck on this for its content the entire time, every bit of it.
"nothing is candid if you believe in destiny" | That quote hit me deeper than i thought it would
Man, that Industrial photos are splendid.
Took my procrastinating ass a while to watch this masterpiece, but watching this fullfilled some of my inner sorrow. Time to get exited to shoot film again and notice that only 5/1000 of my shots are average or good, before moving back to the dslr world. Thank you.
That shot of Caleb playing with himself is a good one
That T Max yellow filter combo is *chef's kiss*
a 40 minute video?! time to brew my coffee and relax 😌
Jason I get more and more inspriated each time I watch your videos man. I cannot wait to photograph tomorrow.
Grainydays = Comedy Gold
The voice and the delivery are amazing, I will have to watch this again. Keep up the good work!
So enjoy these road trips and both of your films and approaches to composition. Commentary superb as ever. Brilliant.
,,
The Fuji industrial shots are magnificent!! Love the yellow filter on the B+W too.
40 minutes of grainy day goodness for my birthday !
Beer and grainy days road trip. That's my evening sorted 👌
this video was so beautiful and well-paced. you really out-do yourself with every video you upload! thank you for sharing this
I just love this channel so much.
Jason is making a book? About time!
Sheeeeesh, dropping 40mins on the tube... hoping to see a worthy successor to "the toilet"!
Great my lunch is only 30 minutes.
Great work, everything!
Exactly what I needed before my college class 🥲
21:34 transition was so smooth!
you can still get fuji industrial 100 fairly readily in japan, but there is a weird caveat. You need to buy a box of roughly 100 rolls. Not that would be an issue.
Great video and photos Jason. I really enjoy the acting-comedy part, love it!! Btw what is the spookiest experience that you guys encountered on the abandoned properties?
I'm addicted to your vids man, they're so damn good
edit: the toilet pic still goes hard ngl
Just amazing!
The inn's sign lasted longer than me, great video
photos with the fuji 100 are insane!
blessed with a 40 minute grainy days video
Damnnn, those shots from Bodie slap harder than the heartburn and intestinal contraction from spicy mountain dew
This episode gave me some brokeback mountain vibes. Such an amazing couple
You missed out on incredible shots in Bodie. Most of the buildings contain furniture and other stuff. If you find a somewhat clean window and move the camera lens right up to the window glass you can make cool shots into the rooms.
The flipped shot at 36:48. Intriguing.
Great video!
Head up to Oregon, misty forests moss covered buildings, cool stuff to look at.... once you find it.
The sound of you screwing the filter on - yum yum!
Such an inspiration for my own work, thank you Jason.
amazing video!
its interesting to me to see places where abandoned buildings hold up so well. things here are so damn that stuff goes to rot pretty quickly
Excellent shots brother
Fwiw, the courthouse at the 20:13 mark was an exterior location in Out of the Past, one of the greatest noir films of all time.
Ah yes the sun god raah has blessed us with a 40 minute grainy days video
I love the dark room!
we love you jason
Fabulous 🤩🔥🎞️
Do you wear suncream?
Hey Jason, great video... Again... Damn dude, I really want to do a trip like this with you two guys... If you ever come to Europe I invite you to my house in Germany 😉... And please... GIVE ME THIS BOOK!
so when did the 16mm join the lineup? Or am i late to the festival?
Ooh, a long, traveling blog style video. I'm on board.
Great channel … curious though, what’s the end goal for these photos of abandoned buildings and signs we see throughout your videos?
Kept me laughing the whole video, awesome content! 🤙
The catch.
♥️♥️ need to try some of the tmax and yellow filter action
The fujifilm color is out of this fkn world
Love your videos man. If your ever in the Ny area a little north of NYC hit me up. There’s come abandoned mental institutes that will probably be knocked down in the near future. I photographed the crap out of em like 12 years ago but they’re still there
You should be doing backflips over the image at 14:30, its a wonderful composition.
Love the ‘loading film in direct sun’ announcement~
I mean, what’s sun anyway, f22? Shade is only f8, so who gives a f, right?
Leicas in titanium finish are not solid titanium, unlike nikons and contax. They are just plated with titanium, so they are not any lighter. In fact, for some reason they were few grams heavier if I remember the specs correctly.
You should try Leica Minilux or CM some day. It would fit you great!
Jason, did you check out the outhouse at Bodie? If not, you should go back.
It IS a spectacular toilet.
Did you shoot the 800T at box speed or the usual 400 during daylight?
What do you use for video? Love these videos
Hey man I like your Tmax shots a lot in this. You mentioned in one of the early clips in the video that you were shooting at 1600, were all the Tmax shots exposed at 1600?
Damn missed some good spots on the way. Gotta do it again
When I get big I wanna be just like you.
Shutter Slapps and Taco Bell problems.
Id buy a print of those industrial 1 hundo shots...
please do the 2022 camera review
Damn, Bodie has been on my list since I moved west. Very tight indeed. Near as tight as the drunk weight challenge.
Where can I get that Mountain Dew?
Emm... WHERE'S BAXTER?
bussin' bussin'
and here i am thinking my morning poop couldn’t get any better. but alas here i am, better.
Love the scare video bro keep it up
Does anyone know how to get the hazy look that he has in the video (not the photos) ?
Lens filter most likely a Pro mist filter
@@eatenbyopium thanks!
Or glow/halation effect in davinci resolve if you prefer doing it in post
I’ll be honest, should have brought the Pentax 6x7. Point and shoot cameras are for 1990s soccer moms and Polaroids are for serial killers.
a blessed day
need to ask, how do you do those perspective changing pictures at the end of every vid?
How are you / are you scouting these locations in advanced?
YES
Jawa droid transfer from Harry Potter 😮
lol, I HAVE been watching a lot of cave exploration disaster videos lately. I feel seen! 😅
Why you are using 3 camers
17:18 Is that Caleb’s H16?
Your friend has a channel as well? I'm curious to see he's shoots as well.
You mentioned Lana Del Rey ❤
“If photography isn’t a struggle, is it even worth it?”
Masochists unite, haha.
Just a couple more months until the next Ektachrome Christmas
I think I would define my photo aesthetic as "the opposite of a 12mm lens shooting vertically" Lol
I took a toilet photo in Gila Bend, AZ and it’s all your fault. Glad you’re still pursuing the art yourself.
Out of context, this would be a real puzzler to an outsider.
Ah yes. Now I wouldn't sleep.
nice
After I started shooting film I sold my entire Sony E-Mount system for Fuji x because film made me realize how utterly sterile and characterless the pictures out of that camera felt in compassion to my film Scans
What is that LUT?! You've got to share it for charity's sake.
“The shape of the building kinda reminds me of the Jawa droid transport from Harry Potter.”
Me: 😄😀🙂😐🤔😣😖😫💥
I can’t stand up from the toilet after watching this. And my hole hurts. Don’t know why.
man.... i love Ur video man...... no homo
