funk is a rad direction that I wish Mega Man X would have leaned into more. I'm super hype for you to dig into composing with SNES samples as well. Not just well known stuff like Uematsu's intruments he made for the FF games or the bouncy Jun Chikamura intruments of KDL3, but some of the less explored stuff like Last Bible 3 or Yuzo Koshiro's Super Adventure Island stuff.
