The Final Escape concept is one that i really like and i wanted to do my own spin on it
I editted this whole thing in Sony Vegas so there are a bunch of mixels, i tried my best to make everything in the same resolution.

It was likely that EXE didn't account for Metal Sonic since he, by technicality, didn't possess a soul. This allowed Eggman to plan an ambush tactic with Metal Sonic, who possessed the single strongest attack in the Classic Era: The Maximum Overdrive, which could burn through any material including the unbreakable spikes.
Either way, well done on the thematic theme of the steel-plated Faker being the key to distract the blood-crying Faker.

People usually underestimate Metal Sonic in .exe scenarios. He was created to be the definitive counter to Sonic himself by matching his speed, power and maybe even more in durability.
Theoretically, X can torture all the other characters because they had souls, however Metal Sonic does not so he decided to not bother with him. He over looked Metal Sonic and that ultimately is what made him lose. He didn't account for how powerful Metal Sonic would be.
Most interpretations usually have Metal Sonic be this one time use get out of jail free card for Eggman to escape so to see him be used in a way that solves the conflict is interesting.

Mecha isn't as known thanks to not being used and as such it's thought that mecha was scraped and not to mention metal doesn't need the master emerald to be incredibly powerful. As much as I love mecha it makes more sense or metal because metal has more reasons to be in there.
i absolutely adore the way knuckles, eggman and metal were basically escorting tails up to when Sonic joined in, it really shows that when their world is at risk they will stick together as an army. Tails was never alone in this fight.

This is one of, if not the best rendition of final escape, the triumphant feeling the last minute has combined with the stunning art gave me chills, amazing job!!!!!!!!!!

This is an awesome take on Final Escape. A very rare instance of Sonic.exe related material that not only respects the sonic universe as a whole but also gives it a fair and canon reason as to how X could be defeated even with all that power. Amazing work!

Strongly agree. Good to see that characters from canon classic Sonic era are being used (Vector, Mighty, Classic Amy and Espio) instead of ones that are sort of anachronistic or not from this canon (Modern/Fleetway Amy, Cream and Sally Acorn).
It doesn't feel like FNF, it feels like a sonic original here. Very nice.

I really love how after EXE was weakened/removed from Sonic, his design references an actual Sonic 3 glitch that messed up Sonic's pallette and made him look like Sonic.exe. That's some great attention to detail!
Overall, this remix was incredible! Your music just in general is very good.
It's either based off of Sonic's messed up pallette in the Sonic 3 prototype before the SEGA text, or a glitch that can happen if you use debug mode after Sonic's victory pose in Launch Base zone.

A few bits I love
3:17 I love how somber and hopeless the music feels here, you feel like Tails and everyone's doom is imminent and there's nothing that can stop the darkness closing in around them
But then you get a sudden shift in tone at 4:40 when Metal Sonic's eyes flash from within' the darkness and the melody becomes hopeful and triumphant again, you actually feel like they managed to pull through at the very last moment and everyone is saved.
It's a very clever choice to use "What I'm made of" from Sonic Heroes here because it takes on a completely new meaning. It's no longer a song played for a boss you're fighting it's become a song about how you've broken free from your shackles and can't be toyed around with any longer, they're no longer bound by X's rules and are going to escape.
I know, right, kupo? "What I'm Made Of" in this feels like Metal saying to Sonic.exe, "I may not have a soul; but I am still a threat. You have power over souls. You have no power over me. You look like Sonic. You are not Sonic. I look like Sonic. I am not Sonic. I AM METAL SONIC! And now, it is time!" I mean, he's probably thinking it, kupo. After all, Eggman did punish him for what happened in Sonic Heroes, kupo.

Also, I need to add (JJ: I don't need to but I wanna add) that Metal Sonic more than likely still has his own thoughts but he's still grounded, kupo. Or if this is Classic Metal Sonic, Classic Egghead probably heard what Modern Metal Sonic did in the future and future-proofed Classic Metal Sonic, kupo.
I love the implication that the plan only worked because Eggman knew X would purposefully try to slowly kill Tails and make a show out of it, which would allow Metal plenty of time to arrive.
Not only that, but also a bit of confidence that Tails and Knuckles would take a while to actually be caught by him, buying more time

Metal Sonic literally takes the W for this one. He is SO underrated in the EXE series, and I'm actually so happy he got acknowledged. This video is probably the BEST, if not, ONE of the best videos in the EXE fandom. Props to you for making this!

It's like you can FEEL the fear and the need to run in the music and the more intense tone makes me think "oh, this is all they have left. He's the last one and all he can do now is SURVIVE."

This is probably my favorite take on Final Escape. Genuinely sounds like a boss theme and stays consistently good throughout the entire song.

This was a whole experience, but the "What I made of..." bit killed me, because it's my favourite boss theme in the whole franchise..... That's right here is the BEST "Final Escape" in my personal opinion. Even the official one is lacking in comparison

there's something about seeing the main cast actually win and survive, including sonic himself, that got me so hyped to the point of getting emotional. Not a single piece of EXE media has ever come close to making me feel hyped like this one has. Outstanding job, genuinely < 3

1 year later, and this is STILL the best take of "Final Escape" that has ever been made.
Where do I even begin? First off, I love how you put in the effort to make it seem like an actual in-game battle! Most takes don't show full sprite animation throughout the entire video, I absolutely love it!
For Eggman's part, I love how he plans Metal Sonic's appearance since the very start. Eggman knew he wasn't gonna survive, so he sent Metal Sonic to ambush when X was caught off guard towards the end. I also love that when Knuckles' part starts, the eggmobile falls into the abyss in the background. It's a neat detail.
For Knuckles' part, I admittedly think it's a little too boring. I like how Knuckles fights X, but I feel like there isn't much life to how Knuckles just walks into him. Knuckles should have punched X before he fades away, and I feel there should have been more going on like Eggman looking into the distance and Tails seeing X imitate Sonic in their parts. It's still good, though.
For Tails' part, I kinda wanted to see Tails fly in some way. Even just to dodge X, or anything like a little few seconds lasting detail. Also, in the part when Tails is seen with X and all the dead characters, I don't think I saw Amy there. Knuckles, Eggman, Mighty, Vector, and Espio can be seen, but not Amy. It's just a slight oversight, but other than that, flawless! I love it!
Now for the final part: Metal Sonic. Holy christ, Metal Sonic was used PERFECTLY here! I genuinely love how you gave the characters a canonical and sensible way to defeat X by using Metal Sonic as an ambush! X doesn't account for Metal Sonic because he doesn't have a soul, which ends up being the one mistake ending in his demise. Perfectly set up, perfectly used, perfectly ended. I also love how Metal Sonic isn't "overpowered" in this take. He's not able to kill X, but catch him off guard and knock Sonic's soul out of X, setting the other souls free, and giving everyone time to make a run towards the end, being the red ring. I love how even Sonic ends up surviving all of this, making a beeline for the end with his friends.
The final thing I'd like to note is that this genuinely makes this all feel canon. This feels like if the characters were actually in this scenario in the Sonic 1, Sonic 2, Sonic CD, and Sonic 3 & Knuckles era of the games, this is what would happen! Eggman saving and helping Sonic and his friends in this video feels really canonical given this scenario. I just genuinely love the thought and detail put into this video!
Also, I think it goes without saying the music itself is faithful to the original classic Sonic games, which is why I haven't mentioned it. It's perfect, I have literally no criticism on the music and sounds part of this video! Outstanding job!
Oh, and just a fun fact: This was uploaded on June 22nd. My birthday is June 21st. It's just kinda funny to me, LOL!

I love how he uses classic characters instead of Sally and Cream, they look better, as well as using the classic design of Amy.

@@crisisboy5822 Sally technically *isn't* cannon, because Sega doesn't consider much of anything other than the games cannon to the Sonic universe, but it's a very easy mistake to make. She's in the Archie Sonic comics, Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, and has a cameo in Sonic Spinball! In the end, some people would consider that cannon, but Sega disagrees: in Classic Sonic, Sally didn't exist. So, it would've been inaccurate to use her here.

Dunno why it took me so long to find this. But it's absolutely sublime! Lowkey feels like how a sort of "canon" version of sonic.exe would be handled. Playing into the horror a bit but not going super over the top with it. I especially loved all the little motifs you threw in there (especially so with the play with me part) Keep up the great work!

I think cream or amy being one of the characters would make sense but not sally i feel cream at the start would have trouble surviving but just due to how fast she is (I don't know her true speed but ima assuming its slightly faster then tails) could end up being one of the last survivors
Okay, I absolutely adore this take on Sonic.EXE- As a matter of fact, I adore the presentation of it all. The intro makes this feel like a legitimate it takes place in a Sonic game. Like- if this were a game, I'd want to play it just from vibes alone.
The Addition of the Chaotix was amazing. And the motifs were fire.
We only saw mighty vector and espio ,no charmy and the other robots I keep forgetting the names of,but still nice seeing them here!

Ok so I absolutely love this animation so I wanna take a few minutes to talk about how good this is.
First, the level of detail. There are little touches to this I loved like Sonic exe using the insta shield to break eggman's eggmobile, The lives being the character's First letter like Mania's encore, Tails icon flashing as he's the "final life", the fact the score is not just blank and actually has a amount to it, the timer being broken, and the game being called "Sonic.exe" when the game seems to crash. Also I love that the Sonic exe separated form has the sonic 3 ending palette glitch. Great touch.
Second thing, I like that the way Tails and the other's won made sense. Having Metal Sonic ambush Sonic exe while he's distracted and basically make him "lose a life" to separate him from Sonic's body was not only a smart idea but also makes sense game wise, as it would make sense that if Sonic was being controlled by Sonic exe that making sonic exe "lose a life" would separate him from sonic's body. Much like how you lose a powerup after dying.
Lastly I gotta give props to the animation itself, while yes most of the sprites were used from official sprite sheets and not made just for this video they were used smartly and done in a way that made it feel natural. Not once while watching then I feel like something was off or shouldn't have been there. And plus the way it was animated really made it feel like a sonic game. The way they moved jumped and turned during the animation felt as it should and never felt floaty or uncanny.
Overall, amazing animation. This is a great video and I can't wait to see if you'll do more animations in the future.

The whole thing is magnificent. Having the characters each be taken down in ways similar to how they were in the game, having Knuckles turn around when running and attacking the mirages, the Blue Spheres easter egg screen with X and Tails being the only two alive, Then the climax with Metal and all of them fighting back to stop him. The best part had to be at 4:00 with Tails falling in place around the souls of his lost friends and the box closing on him like it did Sally in the game. Such a masterpiece.

I love this take on the song, and there are A LOT of reasons why. I'm not gonna list them here, since it may be a bit long. Though, I also like the tribute to Sonic.exe and Sonic as a whole here, and I love how the last form is based off of that one Sonic 3 color palette glitch. I mean, it does look very similar to Sonic.exe, after all.

That finale was fantastic. The key change coupled with V. Overdrive suddenly boring into Exe's chest was an excellent use of Chekov's gun - gave me chills. I loved the use of the TMNT brass, harkening back to the use of the orchestra hit that's been there from the start, helping to tie it all together.
I saw the post on Twitter when you were first teasing this, and was totally hooked by that intro. It was great having the finished product be recommended to me.

I have a lot of words for how magnificent this is.
First off, the song was composed really well, as it has a horrific tone throughout, even at the end with Metal defeating EXE himself.
Second, the animation is spot on, too. The first animation with the piracy screen was... Eh. Then the chase with Eggman, it's touching that Eggman thinks of Metal as a son, as when those letters flew by, my assumption was that Eggman's first though was Metal Sonic.
Knuckles, of course, would try fighting the demon. I was genuinely worried about Tails, though, as the poor kid looked traumatized throughout. I think Tails was only one left alive, just to be tortured.
Up until Metal thunders in, grabs EXE, and uses the Overdrive long enough to damage Sonic's body and set him free. Also, I think as Sonic was set free, everyone's lives were restored. Not sure how that works, but it's warming to see, especially with Knuckles, Eggman, and Metal sticking by Tails until Sonic ran up.
Also, a neat idea to make EXE's true form a reference to a glitch in Sonic 3.
If this doesn't become an actual game, I'm gonna make it happen myself.

I always adored this song. The familiar tones of a sonic track, some you can idfioety turned into a struggle. EXE is dominating most of the track, a desperate dash that you arnt even sure you'll make it to the end until the end where it turns triumphant, a light rendition of a ever powerful sonic track, What Im Made of. The music leading you onto to the final escape.

I was going into this expecting another random Final Escape cover I was just gonna forget about but I was so wrong
this legitimately blew me away, I would’ve never expected actual animation and story, and the music was just absolutely beautiful in so many ways. I’m actually glad it wasn’t FNF related (as in no vocals), I think that really just sells the entire animation for it to be just pure instrumental

Ok, this is an amazing remix and it sounds like something out of the actual genesis era- but the VISUALS! It looks authentic like it's a recording of a game, and it's just to showcase a song! I absolutely adore the incorporation of Encore Mode mechanics from Sonic Mania, and all the visual references to past Sonic games with the twisted Sonic.EXE spin on them is really cool to see, the "Play With Me" reference gave me nostalgia I didn't even know I had, and the Sally.EXE reference... ohh, that takes me back. The ending featuring the ENTIRE cast of the classic games (with sprites, anyhow) is something I've never seen anything Sonic.EXE related do, so even if it's just a series of cameos it's still a first for this fandom to my knowledge, and EXE's last appearance being Sonic 3's sprites with Sonic 2's palette is a deep cut I was not ready for. There's just so much to admire, I wish there were more animations like this one.

Well, I know what I’m gonna have on repeat for the next few days. I love how this looks and sounds, especially with the little stylistic flourishes (in particular eggman’s dialogue and final cut-in and the use of the “No Way? No Way!” screen). All that _and_ a good story, to boot? I think this turned out phenomenally. Well done!
I love this a lot, honestly. Everything feels just right; the vibe, the anti-piracy screen at the beginning with its transition to EXE on it (side note, why does the beginning of Final Escape feel like an anti-piracy theme), and everything in between.

I just wanna say, I fucking love everything about this. From the storyline and Metal's big moment, to the motifs used throughout the song, to the incredible spritework... Every piece of this was meticulously crafted, and it shows.

I love the small motifs in here, some of “His World” and what I assume to be a hint of “Sonic 2 8-bit’s Bad Ending Theme” during the Tails segment all were really well placed, and don’t get me started on the “What I’m Made Of” segment after Metal attacks Sonic and we get to see the Chaotix and Amy run by goes so hard.
This was a literal masterpiece. Sonic.exe's true form being the s3 glitch is a genius idea.

I have been coming back to this every few days since it released, watching it multiple times every time (i did the same thing with confronting yourself, which correct me if i'm wrong, but i assume is the prologue to this?), and it blows me away every time.
The entire composition and pacing of the song, the storytelling both in the presentation AND in the meaning of the melodies and leitmotifs you chose?? Absolutely phenomenal. Hands down one of my favorite sonic.exe anythings.
I also have my theories for why metal was able to catch X off guard (im not sure if this is xenophanes or just sonic.exe 2011 so i'll just call him X), but it sounds a bit silly to write down lmao. I'll just say it is refreshing to see them like..actually win for once? I understand the hopelessness is the point in sonic.exe, but it gets a bit rote when it comes to an actual narrative. Its why Spirits of Hell/Sally.exe is still one of my favorite versions of the story, simply bc u know..they can fight back. So its good to see the "final escape" concept applied to the souls and not just boyfriend!!
Anyway, great job, cannot wait till your next release, whatevwr that may be.
Ps. The fact this was all sprite editing in sony vegas blows my goddamn mind. You're getting leaps and bounds better too with each animation!!

This is honestly amazing, the pixel art segments were great and I love the inclusion of not only Amy but also the chaotix, the part referencing the end of sally.exe (at least that’s what I think is happening there) was great as well, and I love how you seem to reference that one texture bug from sonic 3 that made sonic look like sonic exe
I like how overconfident you made EXE here! Everything from briefly disappearing and reappearing to pretend like Eggman had a chance against him, to him taunting Knuckles as he fails to land a hit on him. Heck, all the stuff he does with Tails is just exemplary of that - dedicating that whole dramatic scene with everyone Tails knows being in Angel Island's flames as walls close in on him.
Whether that's EXE taunting Tails for being the final victim or because he revels in the irony that is killing Tails whilst wearing the skin of his best friend, it makes the finale with Metal Sonic's interference feel that much more cathartic! All in all, an amazingly put together rendition of Final Escape. One that I'd have no qualms referring to as the definitive, dare I say!
When i saw the thumbnail, i was sure that would be peak, and it absolutely is. The music is awesome, the animation is very well done, and i love how you used the sprites of the Remake. Great job on this, i absolutely love it.
