      Atleast you're reusing wasted energy. Now Superchargers just feel like they break physics

    Not bad. Still sounds fine. Especially that you did build the engine so vine. And then re-shimmed your lifters, and I saw your compression fall into nearly perfect balance. Your ability to teach and not babble is a gift you have man. Great production. I can't play with my VVT. I drive a completely stock 2001. So this was gold for me. Thank you.

    Probably a little too high effort but would be interesting to see how much power you'd make with the turbo removed from the exhaust and not acting like a big potato in the exhaust system.
    Anyone that turbos their miata in Sweden need to remove it completely before doing their yearly car inspection (equivalent to MOT in the UK) so a common thing is to make a pipe between the manifold and the downpipe for where the turbo would normally be.

  • @wills_garage335
    @wills_garage335 4 роки тому +2

    The potato is likely costing 5hp. My built BP4W also 9:1 compression on 84mm pistons got 126hp with stock ecu, stock intake manifold, Stock TB and 4* timing advance via triggerwheel. I think that lost drivetrain weight helps as well over a stock car NB.

    Hi Greg, be carefull of your turbocharger, running it like ths could cause damage because without it connected it is very likely operating past the choke line.

  • @griplimit
    @griplimit 4 роки тому

    I think you should have done this with the turbo removed, I know it’s not easy but I believe the turbine was creating back pressure at high rpms worsening any effect of valve overlap by not creating a scavenging effect.

    • @griplimit
      @griplimit 4 роки тому

      ...also I do know that valve overlap is not desirable in turbo applications, only at low rpms up until full boost is reached.

    Granted you have a turbo clogging your exhaust I'm sorta surprised my 1994 1.9 with my head I "ported" / polished myself kicks out 127 & its at 8.5:1 compression with just an exhintake mod, megasquirt & very soon its got a turbo goin on. Reassuring knowing a motor I built myself is sorta on par with whats out there.
