How to make perfect Rice Pathiri / Nice Pathiri / Handkerchief Pathiri. (Kerala Special Rice Roti) This is a regular at my place. This video is for those who are struggling to make perfect pathiri / rice roti at home. With Ramadan approaching, I thought I will share my video with all my tips.This recipe yields about 20 pathiris. Make only this much if it is your first time. Then just double the recipe as needed.

For reheating the pathiri from the fridge.. Sprinkle a tiny amount of water and microwave for a burst of 30 seconds till softened OR steam in seeming rich over simmering water...

Being a north indian who eats roti paratha almost everyday. I never thought it can be made from rice flour too. They look delicious and the best part is they all are puffed like wheat rotis. It was so satisfying to watch them puffing. I would love to eat but it’s too much work for me lol 😂

I used to prepare nice pathiri by using pressing machine past 20 years.. but it was not so good.
I thing your tips will definitely helful to me to prepare tremendous pathiries.

Here, in our area, I mean in Ambur, Vellore District (Tamilnadu) in almost all Muslims house it common dish for Morning Breakfast with Kheema curry. In Vaniyambadi, Pernambut & Melvisharam also this is common.
Here we call it Fashtiyan (فاشتیاں).
Once when I was working in The Nilgiris, a friend in Gudalure invited us their home, for a dinner. There, they served this dish. I told them it is Fashtiyan, then they informed us that they call it Pathiri.
They told it is a special dish in Kerala!

It is called rice bhakri in maharashtra... We make it every day... Tastes good with non veg curries... 😋
Bhakri and pathiri are different.....pathiri is very thin and soft
