If there's a super Mario Maker 3, they need to flesh out the super worlds more and include hidden exits
How would that work with the Course Maker/Editor? Would there be a toggle to bring courses with exits into Super Worlds from Coursebot?
@@retro3188 maybe you can add a flag or a key hole(for smw) as a object and in normal playing it just works like the original goal pole, but in the super world maybe you can connect that secret exit to a different level or world
@@retro3188 The only fair way would be to make it so secret exits are exclusive to Super World levels. The way people incorporate secret exits into a level is too varied to have a solution that would allow them to work well in non-Super World play.
Some people make entire separate paths that split from a point in the level that lead to a secret exit, which would make it impossible to have something like "if you find a key and keyhole when playing it as a standalone level, it gives you some sort of reward" since you'd be stuck at an effective dead end in this case. Having both exits count as "beating the level" would also make it a bit unfair when tracking completion time because two paths could be so wildly different that comparing the two accurately is impossible.
On the flipside, some people also like to just make secret exits a little side room that you can get to easily (like the one in Vanilla Dome 1), which would work well for giving the players some sort of reward, but since that would mess with the other kind of secret exit, it would have to count as an end to the level. If it counts as the end to a level, then you're _really_ screwing with the accuracy of completion times, and probably have a decent chunk of players simply not playing the whole level.
Rather than find a work around that accounts for both of these possibilities (and any others that I can't think of), it would be far easier to just prevent people from having secret exits outside of Super Worlds.

To that one person in chat at 3:20, yes there is! I know a dude that completely remade not only SMB1, but also SMB2J with the NSMBU style levels. Everything is redecorated, everything has the same spirit as the original, just reworked for it to work with the new context. Maker ID is **830-GT5-XYF**
Also fun fact as to why I have his maker ID even tho his levels are 1 and a half years old, I have the World Record on like 97%+ of all his levels, including his 1-1 remake that has over 2600 plays. That's how fun these levels are, including all the A to D worlds. The rest of them I didn't get are from levels that you can't shave a single frame off of and I got sniped. At one point I did have WR on all his levels at once, but now I'm missing like 2. I'm still wondering to this day if someone is brave enough to conquer them.
Thanks so much for sharing this! I just got this game a few months ago after getting into Penga, and I find Super Worlds to be my favorite way to play, especially when they capture that Mario charm like this one achieves!

Seeing this kind of stuff makes me both impressed at the ingenuity of level creators... and dissapointed at the lack of possibilities in the Mario Maker games.
The dev team should try recreating every mainline 2d Mario game in SMM3 before launching it, so as to make sure they won't miss THIS many stuff.

Anyone else think if he went down the pipe at the end of yoshis island 2 (level 1) it would have brought him to yello switch palace? After seeing just squeezing in green palace in DP1 ;) I have a feeling that was the first pipe he missed.

I am _SO_ glad that Super Mario Maker 2 super world's don't let you keep your power-up. It makes it possible to do so much more with it. It's fun in the original SMB games, I must admit... but it is really hard to design around. Especially because in Super Mario Maker you could actually go back to an early, easy level, to gain a power-up, and because in Super Mario Maker you don't game over.

either way dude your UA-cam quality has improved in the past year or so. Especially since romhack Wednesday started even tho I know I saw it a little before but don’t have a clue how long ago it was but I know I was continually watching for not too long but a bit before rom hacks and I prolly wouldn’t have if I didn’t like it. I subbed prolly the third time I noticed I liked watching the smb1 speed runs you had WR for and noticed you were doing some awesome in smb2J prolly one of my favorite games tho I kinda suck and had to use save states to beat and really appreciate it. As a kid on my 7th or so Christmas and I got all stars with my snes I was in love but knew I would have to practice one day to beat it after getting frustrated. Anyway jeez.

This reminds me of the Super Mario World remake that Nintendo Addict compiled in the Wii U Mario Maker. Everyone in the community contributed at least one level of the 96 exits, and he played them all in sequence on stream. One maker actually tried to sneak a Dev Door fake level in to the project.
Some of my fondest memories are from the Wii U Mario Maker.

Ok I can see this is amazing I gotta try it out. I love watching intense crap but suck at it but this might be a reason to play again.
Also the whole thing I think with sending power ups and yoshi to the next level in the worlds was because of the diff levels can have different power ups between the types.

Actually I remade all of SMB1 inside Super Mario Maker 2 with a Super World as well! Not all courses are 100% accurate but I really tried and went over the courses over and over trying to fix issues. 4-4 is the only level with a working maze, though.

They did well for what they had, but it's a real shame how lacking SMM is compared to the original games. You would think the concepts of the originals would have been fully fleshed out in these games. No Charging Chuck? That's one of the best characters in SMW, even though he's a random character that seems to be a parody of Americans, because of the sports, also the name "Chuck."
One of my favorite parts as a child was the fact you could get the secret keys and get a secret path to a new section of the world. I always thought that was such an awesome feature that never appeared again in any Mario game. It's a real shame that there was never a SMW2 earlier on, granted, the newer Super Mario games look great from what I see of them, but I haven't played a console since Wii/early-Wii-U.

That momentum feeling off is what I get when I play any 2d mario game on wii and later. New Super Mario Brothers WII I always found the precision to be really off compared to the NES and SNES releases.

Every time I see Mario maker 2 content, I realize it most definitely did not add enough to warrant a sequel. It should've been a deluxe version of SMM.
There's so many lacking features. Just to list a few: still no level collections feature to make avoiding trash levels easier, a large number of objects and enemies from Mario games that aren't here, no decorations at all, no alternate exits in worlds, there's still no logic objects, and the online is still atrocious.
Online was by 1 person.
I like this. Some things this game does better, others, Mario Royale.

This was actually really cool. I may actually play this Super World. I sort of hate the Super World concept and never play Super Worlds, but it works well in this one.
RE: Fire under water. Yoshi has magnesium breath. That creates fire under water.
This is the second Super Mario World 2 recreation. I can't remember much about the first, but it's one of the only full "game within a game" that I played with Mario Maker.
