So love your videos and your lil brit. Makes me miss mine and the days in the field hunting both quail and chukar. Thanks for posting your fantastic journeys.
Great video as usual. I like the topo work. I do miss the walking diagrams. I think it show's me why I don't shoot many Chukar. Total dedication and I don't miss the music. Thanks for sharing your hunts.
Glad you enjoyed the video! We will have more of the walking diagrams in future videos most likely, we just thought the story of this hunt was more straightforward using the regions. Thanks for the feedback!
Thanks! Yeah when birds hold tight it can be super tough without a dog, unfortunately. Snow days are your friend without a dog so you can follow those tracks, hopefully we get some good snowfall for you soon!
You’re a blessed man to have Annie, who very obviously has a good nose and a very strong pointing instinct! Great combination for sure and it helps that you guys can shoot. Who needs the wind? Not Annie.
Just watched Eric Forresters video of hunting Nevada Chuckers. He also got into a good number of Huns. Never seen you all get any Huns? Not the right area? Just curious. Great videos. Look forward to the next.
Reed has shot a few Huns over the years (I actually never have) but we haven’t shot one since we started the channel a few years ago. You have to go a bit more North in Nevada to find them and a lot of times we are hunting a little too far south. That being said, it is a little anomalous that we haven’t run into any in the videos because we do have a fair number of episodes where we are plenty far North. We have actually been going to more spots likely to have Huns so hopefully we will get one in a video soon!
I have watched a lot of dogs in the field and in hunt tests, and this is a mighty fine Brittany. I am interested in knowing the breeder and the bloodline of Annie.
...great video and dog work and what a way to start the season...what is your opinion of the Final Rise vests you are using this year, is it worth the money...???...my vest is just about worn out...!!!...
Thank you! The final rise vest, in our opinion, is definitely worth the money. They are super high quality, comfortable, and you can just tell they were designed by a bird hunter. We know quite a few people that have them and they all say the thing.
I don’t have plans to breed her but I got her from Brittany Country of Northern Idaho (brittanycountry.com). They are great people and breed some awesome Brittanys. If you are looking for one, I’d definitely check them out
Personally, (this is Jordon) I prefer females. Of course there are always exceptions but in my experience female hunting dogs always seem to approach coveys with more caution. I also prefer female dog when not in the field; they tend to get along with other dogs better, no marking, etc. Reed has had great luck with male dogs though and I have friends with some stellar male dogs. Ultimately, I think it probably comes down more to the temperament of the individual dog.
We can’t really speak to springers but Brittanys make for great pointers! We know a number of people that hunt Chukar and do field trials with them. They are great house dogs too!
I mean.. you couldn't ask for a better dog. I didn't get mine thoroughly trained, so they make mistakes and bump birds a lot. How many human miles was this hunt?
Thanks for the kind words about Annie, we feel pretty lucky to have her. On this hunt Annie did about 12 miles according to her GPS collar, so we probably walked 5 or 6 total. The area we hunted wasn’t huge but there was a lot of back and forth
Always impressed when someone can make chukar hunting look easy lol. Congrats guys!
Hahaha thank you!
ANOTHER master class clinic put on by the worlds greatest chucker dog!!!!! GOOD GIRL ANNIE!!!!!!!
You said it! We owe everything to Annie!
Looks like you found the "X" for chukars. That's awesome, Annie is coming along nicely!!
Annie deserves lots of treats and head pats for all the work she put in finding all those birds
Couldn’t agree more! We give her all the treats and pets she deserves; she is pretty spoiled haha but that is how we like it!
You guys had a great opening day. Annie did amazing perfect points.
Thank you, Annie was most definitely the mvp!
Absolutely fantastic! You guys and Annie, the star of the show, made a double limit on chukars look easy. Wow!
Thank you! Annie was the star, no doubt!
I love when you tell a dog "Ok" and they don't move. Like, "Dude! It's freaking right there!" Lol
Seriously, it’s so awesome! I’m always thinking “there is no way there is a Chukar between you and me” but then sure enough!
Bravo,şimdiye kadar seyrettiğim en iyi keklik avı videolarından biri, detaylarda kaybolmadan ya da sıkılmadan giriş,aksiyon ve sonuç,tebrikler.
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks so much for watching!
WOW! Great video!
Annie is an absolute ROCKSTAR!!!
Thanks! Yeah she can definitely get it done 💪
This is spectacular. Nice ti find them on a big mesa.
Wow seeing those birds hold so tight and Annie patiently waiting. Great hunt and video!
Thank you! Annie has always been so patient. We cultivated it from a young age but we definitely got lucky with her

That’s an awesome comment, thank you. Glad our videos helped you reminisce for a bit
That’s awesome guys , my favourite hunt of them all , come to California I have few honey holes , God bless
Glad you enjoyed it! We have been considering expanding our horizons and doing some hunts in California!
Awesome hunt! Love Annie's work too.

Good Job Annie!!!!
great vid! makes me realize I’m probably walking right by a lot of birds (dogless hunter). thanks for the OG vids on how to find them dogless too

Annie laughs in the face of the wind haha. Yes, I really feel blessed to have such an awesome pup!
Howdy from Sacramento! Great hunt and great dog work!
Howdy! Thank you!
Crazy!!
10/10 keep it up
Thanks 👊

Well done friends❤❤ In Seattle I look for these lovelies.
What is your shot number? #6
That’s right #6s

Thank you, really appreciate the kind words, we sure love Annie. We got her from Brittany Country of North Idaho

...thank you...this makes the decision a lot easier...@@ReelsandRidges
What loads do you shoot? And choke?
We usually shoot 6s and use a modified choke
Who did you get your dog from?
We got her from Brittany Country of North Idaho
What kennel did you get Annie out of? Are you planning on breeding her?
I don’t have plans to breed her but I got her from Brittany Country of Northern Idaho (brittanycountry.com). They are great people and breed some awesome Brittanys. If you are looking for one, I’d definitely check them out
Hearing you breathing hard makes me remember why I stopped chasing Chukar at 62 yo. I have to stick to the lowlands on the huns ,pheasant and quail
Haha yep, it is certainly a workout chasing them in that steep country!
Do you prefer a male or female hunting dog?
Personally, (this is Jordon) I prefer females. Of course there are always exceptions but in my experience female hunting dogs always seem to approach coveys with more caution. I thought she was a springer - haven't seen a brittany or springer point like that.
We can’t really speak to springers but Brittanys make for great pointers! We know a number of people that hunt Chukar and do field trials with them. They are great house dogs too!
