Yall go read the original story. This happened in Brazil. She was telling him uncle you have to sign. I can't sign for you. If you don't sign I can't get the loan. All this for 3k. The bank ppl said he looked pale and lethargic. She said he always looks like that.

As a former Banker under NO circumstances is this legal or ethical to defraud someone.

I know this happened in another country but I wonder what additional charges this woman would have faced if this took place in the United States .

Yeah I don’t think somebody has to be a banker or a former banker to see that this isn’t right. 😂
I used to be a teller. Tellers insist that the customer endorse the check when they get to the window in the presence of teller unless you’re at the drive-in.
There are so many things that could go wrong in this scenario. What if the teller wants to make small talk with the customer? "How you doing today, Mr. Smith? How are the grandkids?" Did the personal assistant always bring Mr. Smith to the bank or is this the first time? Experienced tellers know when something seems off. Finally, how long after death does rigor mortis set in?
@@bernadettedevereaux8694 Been banking since 1988 and have never had to endorse a check in the presence of the teller when inside of a bank. Have deposited plenty of checks that were already endorsed prior to me entering the bank. I just had to present my ID and have the teller verify I have an account at that bank. Unless the check was drawn on that bank in which case, I wasn't required to have my own account there.
Well an abuse of a corpse charge would be one thing. Is attempted fraud a thing? Maybe some extra charges just for being absolutely ridiculous
I was POA for a lovely centenarian because some relatives were doing some slightly shady things with her finances...but this lady was LAWYERED UP! and there was me, we don't play that! 😅

This happened in Cleveland. Actually, Ashtabula. Cleveland got enough going on. This lady and her friend put the old dead man in the front seat of the car and drove him through the bank drive-thru to do a withdrawal. When they were done, they just dumped the body off at a hospital. I work at a bank, they sent around an email with a link to the story telling us to watch out for this sort of suspicious behavior. The dayva dead body is sitting at my desk, would be my last day.
He probably said, "You can have this money over my dead body." She took it literally. Now they're at the bank. I mean That's a verbal contract.

All seriousness tho, I was scrolling on IG and saw that video and my heart felt a jolt. I don't like seeing REAL dead people on social media. Maybe it's the reminder of the way we all shall pass or maybe it's the disrespect of being handled that way after death. It could also be the images that have been burned in my brain of slaves that were killed and the piles of dead of the Holocaust. I just know it always makes me uncomfortable and don't ever purposely view it.
Perhaps she could have gotten him to write her a check first thing that morning in her name. Then she could have just went to the bank by herself.
