A track pairing some of my favorite characters of all time. Joon and Wario are so funny and shameless. I love King Dedede, but I much prefer this match up way more. Their scheming partners get to join in as well. As for who would win, I'm not sure actually. Wario is an absolute tank, and both bros have toned their skills in sports competitions as well. Oh yeah, don't forget the time Waluigi beat Bowser lol. Wario also has history with magical items and such. For the Yorigami sisters, Joon is awesome when it comes to fighting with fists. Most Touhou characters prefer bullets, while she's not afraid to get hands on. In other works, she also can become a cool phantom thief. Her ace in the sleeve may be her ability to hurt souls directly. Shion is fun, though she usually relies on her younger sister. Sometimes, Joon almost uses her like a stand. Her ability to spread misfortune may act as a double edge sword, which might be the most interesting part of the fight.
Oh yeah, Wario Land 4 is my favorite game of all time. The main theme can be heard a bit here, with also Wario's castle theme. Of course, "Tonight Stars an Easygoing Egoist" is also heard (which the sisters stole as their own theme). By the way, I also stole the name idea for this match up from another one.
The artist @eternalflamebry did an excellent job with the art. They have a specific way of drawing characters that is cool.

When I first saw that matchup I told myself "quite weird to see Touhou mixed with Mario". Then I looked up who Joon and Shion are and, well, needless to say that after reading a brief rundown of their personalities, I absolutely understand the matchup and it makes total sense.
I mean, what better opponents for Wario and Waluigi than two siblings who respectively are greedy as can be while taking pride in the hurt they cause and misfortunate to a fault while following in their sibling's antics no matter what ? And the song reflects the traits of those characters really well too. I mean, obviously we have the great mix of Touhou and Wario OST in the track but the song itself also has a very unique and fitting atmosphere that's heavily appreciable.
While it's true that the song has dedicated more epic/orchesral segments and more comedic/goofy segments, it's undeniable that most of the track does a really good job at mixing both sides really well, fitting both sides of the matchup and fitting both sides of the characters involved in the matchup. Because of course those two duos have a major comical side to them but they also are quite the powerful individuals so having more serious segments fully fits, making the whole entire track double-layered in how it does what it strives to do.
And of course this also doubles as making the entire track extremely catchy which is obviously a good point. Makes the entire song feel dynamic and varied without at any point feeling stagnant or overwhelming either. It's just generally a really good combination and gauge of what to use when for the song.
Also I do recognize that it's got a progression too but my lack of knowledge of the characters' abilities means that I can't really elaborate on that so I'll leave it at that as I'm sure fans of the characters themselves will know better than me what to imagine and when.
I must also mention what I believe to be a small reference to Appetite For Greed at the very end at around 4:11 with the burst of one-note percussions that recall to the aforementioned song's beginning but it could very well just be a coincidence. If it isn't a coincidence however then I must mention that I really like the addition, it's a subtle reference but highly appreciated still.
Overall this track is pretty much a standard track by Therewolf Media, well, standards: a really solid song that fits the characters, sounds catchy as all hell and feels dynamic and memorable. There's not much I can add to it other than that, it's just a nice and funky song and it doesn't need anything more than that to be heavily appreciable. Amazing job as always with this.

I would love this match-up to start as just both groups stealing from each other without noticing, then as they just walk past each other and saying something like "good day" only to stop and freak out when they realize the other group had their stuff. The battle starting as just some building level shanagance to cosmic scale stuff would be really funny, all of this just because they stole something, heck they could've just stolen something usless without noticing at the beggining, like Joon and Shion stealing a rotten garlic thinking it'll have the same effects on them.
Banter is just both groups (Mainly Joon and Wario) being as petty as possible, like in the middle of the fight taking the time to pick up a coin someone walking by dropped. Shion would be petty as well just a lot less shouty and loud like Joon. Waluigi could be suppoting Wario while trying to help, but ends up getting his ass kicked until one point in the battle were Waluigi manages to do the single most devistation attack possible. How? most likely bad luck on Joon and Shion's part.
Who wins... Most likely Joon and Shion given Shion participated in the creation of Reality. But Mario scaling can go wild so who knows.
Either way, great track and great match-up.

This works so well on so many levels. Joom and Wario, the "successful" egotistical leader of the duo and their unfortunate partner, one who is often forgotten (either in canon or out), never getting the same attention.

Holy shit this MU is peak. Two characters who scale wayy higher than their appearance suggests, who're both greedy and funny. And then there's their sidekicks who are just suffering. Joon is one of my favourite 2hu characters and I didn't think I'd get such a good MU for her.

A track that features both Wario AND Waluigi? This gets an automatic A+. If we were to get another episode involving just Wario, I’d prefer him to fight Lobo (mainly since it would be a double run-back). And even if we got both Wario and Waluigi, I prefer Scanty and Kneesocks for them. Despite that, this seems like an interesting idea, and the track is a banger as usual.

tl;dr You might be wrong, depending on what feats you buy into, but there are more scenarios where Joon and Shion are stronger and faster than Wario and Waluigi.
Touhou might not be the strongest verse of all time but it is somewhat of a boogeyman in the VS debating community. Most of the mid, high, and god tiers are universe level to low multiverse level and are infinitely fast, all of which Joon and Shion would scale to. I've also seen arguments that get Touhou all the way up to high complex multiverse level but this isn't as widely accepted as universe-low multiverse level. And while low multiverse level isn't all that much in the grand scheme of things, these characters also tend to have OP hax that often ignore durability, sometimes even scoring them a win in MUs where they're up against someone in a higher AP tier. Some characters are even able to rewrite or make and unmake all of reality as they please.
As for Mario's verse, the highest I've seen it get would be the Pure Hears at multiverse level+, but whether the Paper Mario games are part of the main canon has always been debatable and scaling Wario of characters to it might take some mental gymnastics, meanwhile I haven't seen any infinite speed arguments for Mario characters.
This is a fun song to listen to.
For me, I think the Yorigami Sisters have this. Especially since Shion can just possessed one of the Waa duo and force them to fight their partner.
Oh yeah, she can just smack them with coincidental bad luck like diet Wonder Of U. Except Wonder Of U can redirect fated trajectories which is basically giving itself hyper luck with extra/less steps (the hyper luck for WoU functions sorta like limitless if limitless could redirect instead of slow).
I can say with absolute confidence that I was not ready for this to show up on my recommended.

STRENGTH: Scales to other gods and Reimu, making them around Low Multi (Thanks to Reimu scaling to characters such as Kaguya, Clownpiece, and Shion herself scaling to Tenshi, who can shake heaven)
SPEED: Touhou is pretty infamous for being RIDICULOUSLY fast, Shion and Jo’on are no exception, able to tag Kasen and Marisa, who are both easily fast enough to cross infinite distances, they are also gods and existed as primordial beings before time itself was created, making their speed infinite, possibly even immeasurable.
HAX: Jo’on has the ability to instill pestilence, forcing misfortune upon someone by passively manipulating them into giving over all of their goods. Shion is similar, though, to a FAR greater degree, her misfortune is SO bad that if someone is tricked into having Shion become their servant, they are guaranteed to lose. She can spread this misfortune in a massive area around her, causing such bad luck as to completely obliterate one’s chances of winning. The only issue is that it's collateral, meaning Shion is also going to lose.
Abilities: Standard Touhou Fair, Flight, bullet creation, the typical.
Wario and Waluigi
STRENGTH: Thanks to the party games, Wario and Waluigi scale directly to black holes and even could stand up to characters like Bowser, placing them pretty firmly into Galaxy Level
SPEED: Both can keep up with Mario, who can easily cross interstellar distances in seconds, making them both Massively FTL+
HAX: Wario has immense regeneration, though it is definitely not as powerful as some may have you think, it is definitely strong enough for him to survive any sort of lethal attack that doesn’t outright vaporize him; he can inhale enemies to send them to… somewhere, and can become invincible through multiple powerups. With the Power Stars, Wario and Waluigi can erase people from existence.
ABILITIES: Teleportation, Summoning Bob-ombs, growing giant, shooting fire, creating tornadoes, creating vines, lightning creation, slowing time, and more.
So who wins?
The Yorigami Sisters obviously have a distinct advantage in speed and strength, having a far easier time scaling to the higher tiers of their verse.
Wario and Waluigi are fast, sure, but they aren’t beating Touhou's levels of speed, even if they get immeasurable feats. Touhou characters are that as a baseline, and Jo’on and Shion have been shown to be able to keep up with characters who routinely outpace immeasurable beings, like Marisa.
Jo’on’s mind manipulation and Shion’s luck manipulation also throw a wrench in some of Wario’s greatest tactics, as Jo’on could easily passively manipulate Wario into giving over all of his powerups, money, and clothes if she’s feeling especially bitchy that day, and if push came to shove, Jo’on could use her superior speed to run away and have Shion unleash all of her misfortune as a kamikaze that would GUARANTEE Wario and Waluigi lose no matter how tough they are.
Even if you want to argue multiversal/immeasurable Mario, Jo’on and Shion would still outpace them due to simply superior speed scaling. (Once again, they outpace characters who can easily outpace other immeasurable/infinite characters) And because Jo’on and Shion’s abilities don’t rely on strength, they can FORCE Waluigi and Wario to lose through sheer overwhelming hax. That's not even considering the possibility of Jo’on fooling the dim-witted Wario and Waluigi into taking Shion as a servant, which would result in them ALWAYS losing.
Wario and Waluigi may have been WAnderful, but they were nothing but Common Flowers for them to trample when going against the Yorigami sister’s misfortune, speed, and cunning brilliance!

Waluigi provides the backup but realistically he doesn't have a lot like Wario so unfortunately you could consider him canon fodder unless he's got like some op ass ability I don't know about

Touhou Beings have a LOT and I mean a LOT of accuracy. Rivalling that of many featureful birds. And as such both Wario and Waluigi will have a bit of trouble. As in their gameplay, they have a little trouble dodging things in their own minigames. After the Bowser Gives Up Era. But Wario has a lot of muscle and defense. He can not only tank, but defend. And with Waluigi helping with defense, The Brothers Bad might be impervius to these girls' onslaught. Though a very cartoonishly burn Wario and or Waluigi might be a result after victory. :P

Joon and Shion Yorigami are pestilence gods from Touhou that have the ability to drain people of their financial assets and bring about bad luck to those who get near them.
As such they act as con artists just like Wario and Waluigi, with the short one taking charge of operations while the tall one is subject to the misfortune involved with being In one of their partner's schemes.
Joon also has a move in Touhou 15.5 where she shakes the money out of an opponent similar to how Wario does in Wario Land Shake It.

I did NOT know that those two were from Touhou, mostly because i could never get into it properly because of both the language barrier and the confusion with where to even begin. Just how extensive is the cast there, that i could recognize their parts of the song? Could anyone direct me to somewhere to best start, or somewhere where i can see in what order Touhou is best to learn about? It really seems like something i'd love if i knew better.
Touhou is a fairly chronological series, with each game taking place after the last one. If you want to learn about the world and characters in a more relaxed setting, there are some official novels and manga.
If you're interested in the games, they have a soft reboot at the sixth game, which is the game to start at narratively speaking. If bullet hell isn't your thing and you aren't too concerned with the chronology, there are fighting games.
Touhou tends to not have major overarching story beats, so aside from adding new characters to the world, jumping-on points aren't _too_ heavy on requiring info from older games and literature.
The touhou wiki should have a list of the official works. Start there! :)

@@xtraveller8596 There's a lot of Touhou characters who have green hair, but whoever you heard the MU from was probably referring to Sanae Kochiya. She doesn't actually have a lot in common with Luigi, the connections instead come from the fact that they're both "green player 2" characters. The main character of Touhou, Reimu Hakurei, wears a red dress, is a shrine maiden, and stops "incidents" that occur in Gensokyo. Sanae has green hair, is also a shrine maiden, and is also an incident resolver. Because of this some fans might jokingly call her "Green Reimu", which happens to be similar to how some characters in the Mario & Luigi series mistake Luigi for "Green Mario".

Both are secondary protagonists in their respective franchises, whose main color scheme is green and blue. Coming from a franchise that is well-known for their red-themed main protagonists (Mario and Reimu) who are known to be pretty eager and competitive in personality, and sometimes even prideful and arrogant, even have the same occupation as them as well (Mario and Luigi are plumbers/Reimu and Sanae are shrine maidens).
Despite being in the main character's shadow, they are actually living a lot better in their lives than the main character (Luigi is arguably the richest man in the Mushroom Kingdom/The shrine where Sanae works vastly outperforms the shrine where Reimu works in total visitors and donations). Born as gifted children with extraordinary powers destined as something greater in the future (Luigi being born as one of the 7 Star Children/Sanae was born as a descendant of the mountain goddess, Suwako Moriya).
Both have met gods who have given them access to powerful abilities they weren't able to do before (Luigi was taught lightning powers by the Thunder God/Sanae has the power to summon and use powers from her patron gods, Suwako and Kanako). Both having weather-related powers used for combat (Luigi was taught lightning powers by the Thunder God, can create miniature tornadoes by himself. Also having some Power Ups like the Cloud Flower and Ice Flower/Sanae has the power to manipulate weather and summon wind, rain, and even tornadoes with the power of her miracles).
Both have faced ghosts and phantoms in their lives and even had games that as the main plot (Luigi deals with poltergeists in the Luigi's Mansion series/Most of the Touhou Project games involve solving incidents relating to youkai, which also includes ghosts and phantoms in some installments). Even have fought in space before (Luigi has been in space in numerous Super Mario titles, most notably Super Mario Galaxy/as for Touhou Project, the second half of Legacy of Lunatic Kingdom, where Sanae was one of the main playable characters, mostly took place in space).
Both used have personal conflict about themselves that relates to other people like them with the same occupation.(Sanae may have somewhat of a complex about herself as an incident resolver, thinking foes won't take her as seriously as the other experienced youkai exterminators./Luigi aspires to be like his brother Mario, due to him sometimes being a coward)
Both had feared certain conflict they had face but later on putting away their fears aside for what's more important besides themselves (Sanae was afraid of leaving the world of humans, but as a person with the power to call on miracles, the anticipation she felt for going to a world of miracles outweighed her terror. Luigi was afraid of the ghosts but still was determined to save his brother). Eventually, they would adjust their roles in locations where they're needed (Sanae had become familiar with them, and carried out her daily jobs without any discomfort. Luigi became the heroes of the mushroom kingdom and even adjusted his liking for ghosts and has a pet, Polterpup)
Both characters originate from massive well-known Japanese franchises that have had many games of different genres. These franchises have gained such a massive following in not only Japan, but have expanded to other countries as well, and have thousands of different kinds of merch. However, on the contrary, Luigi is from one of the biggest triple-A titles of all time, while Sanae is from one of the biggest indie titles of all time. To add, the franchise where Luigi originated is owned by a company that often discourages fan-works, while Sanae comes from a franchise that actively encourages fan-works.
