Yukari herself is overpowered, like I said before.
The Shion fight was pretty easy itself. It's possible to beat her final spell card without the Fantasy Seal spam.
Still don't know why Yukari didn't know of this trick before, the swapping trick I mean. The solution is rather simple.
Ending summary: The incident was partially resolved. Joon was sent to the Myouren temple, Shion was kept at the Hakurei shrine.
Antinomy of Common Flowers belongs to ZUN and Tasofro.

@@youkaichicken7208 She does, read the wiki. She's one of the Sages of Gensokyo, who helped in the creation of the Hakurei Barrier and the reason why Gensokyo exists in the first place IS the Barrier.
its also really cool how this is only the simplified version of her border power, the fact that she needs to know about how the slave gets sent to the dream world first implies that its not as simple as "border of master and slave" its probably just a simplified version for Reimu to understand, its probably more likely that she messed with the dream world border
@@inkyotaku7406 The better explanation is that the Perfect Possession rumours opens a gap in the barrier between dream world and gensokyo, that being why Dream World selves were capable of leaving and coexisting with their true selves.
Yukari was operating on the assumption Shion+Joon were using forced possession (Which was true, to a degree) and that she could use forced possession herself in order to end with the same result of the final plan, but she did not knew the dream world aspect, which would have ended in failure normally. She only was sure the plan would work once that gap was revealed.
Then Tenshi and Shinmyoumaru randomly appeared, and dream Shinmyoumaru randomly decided it would be more fun to be in real Shinmyoumaru's place, and then Yukari understood how the switch worked- Through a gap into the Dream World.
So since Perfect Possession opened a gap to the dream world, and Yukari was now aware of that, it was a simple matter of manipulating that same gap in order to fuck everything up.
Shion, who was attempting to use the gap to outside the dream world to become the enemy slave (And thus force misfortune upon them) while having the enemy slave take her place as a slave (Giving Joon control over the enemy slave), instead ended going through a gap leading to her becoming the master, while Reimu ended as Joon's master- This is why Yukari couldn't have done the same beforehand whenever Shion/Joon switched- It had to target her, or it wouldn't have worked as she could not see the gap.
Then Yukari focused on sealing this gap to the dream world, this is also why Shion couldn't use Yukari and you couldn't use Jo'on- The gaps to the dream world and back did not work.
In short, the beauty of the protagonists plan to defeat Shion is that Yukari didn't manipulate a border, she just had two gaps lead somewhere else- It's not overpowered Deus Ex Machina "Yukari solves everything", it's a well planned move that has been setup for the whole game.

i think its fitting for reimu and yukari to defeat joon and shion. considering yukari manipulates boundaries (i.e. boundary of master and slave) and reimu is already poor, but also exceptionally lucky

The Yorigame sisters were so powerful that even Yukari herself had to intervene, that's something unusual.
Even scarier, Reimu is forced to to effectively SPAM Fantasy Seal, one of her most powerful abilities, in order to deal with Shion.
(It's technically possible to do so without it, but the game practically begs you to spam it)

The music playing when Shion realized their plan was thwarted by Yukari as she switched the Master and Servant border is gold, this is why we love Touhou.

I forgot to mention this a while ago but it's a nice touch they put Shion's sprite in the background for her survival card since ZUN stopped doing that for extra stage boss survivals.

i love the fact that reimu, even if she seems invincible, has her own weaknesses canonically, and even has trouble dealing with certain more powerful individuals. goes to show that she's still human, with her flaws and mistakes, and she has room for growth (especially with 2 certain areas..)

Well not any god, Hecatia is the most powerful by a very large margin confirmed by ZUN.
I always get confused about how Hecatia's the strongest, especially if Mamizou exists..
What about the fact that the only reason Yukari won is because shes with Reimu who apparently can win every battle just because shes the protagonist.

All the Gods in Touhou can logically speed blitz Yukari concept~wise and logic~qise since they are pretty much embodiments of that specific concept and cant truly be harmed

When I say Speed Blitz I mean it because being an embodiment of something means you are present everywhere regardless of that specific object's restrictions. meaning pretty much Every God in 2hu is Omnipresent

A "slave" could choose not to support their "master" at all (Doremy for example). In this case, why would Joon lend her power for Reimu, her enemy?
who said she lend any power? My guess is that this was part of the plan - if both "slaves" won't support their "masters", then only "masters" power matters - and Reimu is strong on her own and totally capable of working alone and winning even against some "supreme" deities
also, Reimu's power is probably why Yukari didn't use swapping trick earlier. She probably relies more on Reimu than on anyone else in terns of incident resolving, so she decided to not show her knowledge earlier with someome she can't be sure they win
