Beautiful footage, love how high quality it is. Really got to see those fish clearly. The pearlescent betta was gorgeous, and always love seeing the batik arowana. I've seen them before in arowana show videos. Absolutely nutty!
This is SO COOL. I could have watched a half hour of it. At one time I had up to a dozen fish tanks. All freshwater, with live plants. Not a personal fan of the really huge fish, but there are some really cool ones there. Love the rays!
It is so funny because we like so many fish but don't have lots of tank options so we have to assess everything with questions like, "those will get eaten..." or "these don't get along". The one huge option to us is the end-game to where we can ignore the fact that some get absolutely huge because they just graduate to the pond and we start over again with something else.
They seem to get better every time we stop in here and look and it is just represents refined breeding. The black diamond rays are really getting outstanding.
Always amazed by how many different types of fish there is . The variety of stingrays is breathtaking. What was the one after the arrowana that looked like a hunchback . The head reminds me of a snake necked turtle?
Vending fish looks like a lot of work with having to individually contain them in water. I would be afraid a bag or acrylic would break at that market! Fish are so beautiful. I wanted to bring them all home and put them into enriched habitats, the tanks were so bare and crowded with fish❤. There is a really well done book on fish cognition and behavior called What a Fish Knows, I recommend it. 😊
This is basically the hub for the global fish trade. While there are some shops creating some of the best award winning habitats here, the giant predator fish "monster fish" are solitary species consuming massive amounts of food and creating a lot of waste so the bare tanks are best suited for them in this commercial environment. I can guarantee that the high end customers paying $5k+ for one rare fish are putting them into some amazing pools inside their mansions that you could swim laps in.
02:18...Brother, You may wish to work on your camera angle just a wee bit, if you get my drift...no disrespect intended...but that was rather distracting...LOL!!! 04:40...Beautiful fish...Have not seen one of those in years. I know"Batik" patterns typically come from the wax-resist dyeing techniques for textiles of Java vernacular specifically. If this a a current description, than it has changed from the historic vernacular for this pattern style which was called...."Vermiculated Pattern"...very common in some of the stone restoration work I have done in the past, but also found in textiles, ceramics and of course, nature itself. Perhaps the reason it is now called "Batik" (?) is that these Javan textiles are based on these natural patternings... Thanks as always for keeping us up to day with your adventures and goals...
@@DMExotics LOL!!! When I get over there in the next year, I do hope we could meet up for a coffee. If you ever have and "open position" for someone on your staff with experience in exotic animal husbandry, enclosure natural biome design or the related, please do post that or reach out. I'm retiring (LOL) but hope to get involved again, at least part time, in this line of work if I can...
😊sooo good to see you both amazing couples back in beautiful Thailand 🇹🇭 can't wait to see all you house tour of animals at some point to see how things are progressing, plus the traveling. Awesome channel. 👍🏾👍🏾👍🏾 Like and subscribe people. Bless up to you both and your families ✌🏾🥳
@LoriTorrini I have a Pixel 6 now. The biggest issue is storage at this point. All the videos and pics plus regular apps running out of space. I can store to the cloud but even then, too much space. An SD card for each video would make organization easy. And a little boost in video quality.
I am using a DJI Osmo pocket 3 and sometimes my iPhone. For me it is all about how compact I can get my kit down to. I also have a new GoPro 13 that I haven't used yet. It is mostly for underwater footage but also a solid back up and this new one connects seamlessly to the DJI mic system for great audio. It alls fits in that little shoulder sling easily. Nothing wrong with a newer iPhone but you need to stay on top of storage.
There is still a "green arowana" but the batik from Myanmar gained species status in 2012. I'm pretty sure that I have never seen one before. I love the fact that most of the time I can walk out of that place seeing something new regardless if fish, bird, reptile or mammal.
Fish shops most open every day but for the full experience, a weekend is your best bet. The "fish day" is on Wednesday's but that just means that a bunch of sellers bagged up wholesale groups in plastic bags and spread them out in the covered parking lot.
The video would be 2-3 hours long if we explained every single fish. Average attention span on this platform is about 60-90 seconds. We explain the rare ones :)
Welcome back guys!!!!
Oh what fun!
Really cool getting to see all those fish
🍎 smile is bigger in 🇹🇭 . First of many video to come 👍 . I was waiting for the food. Hope you get some rest when at the 🏠

Thank you :)
😃 you're always welcome
I had to subscribe due to quality teeshirt
the black fist at the end looks like the giant asian salamander. looks prehistoric.
Yes, Chinese....they were always very prohibitive about us taking pics/video but this time when we asked they said ok.
What is the little camera you use? I am looking to change up my filming other than my phone.
I bought an expensive camera for filming and hated it. The quality actually wasn’t as good as my phone so I returned the camera and use my phone.

I’m not a professional videographer but when I do take photos or videos I turn to my iPhone 14!😁
interesting , batik finally get his own species name , for a long time i always thought its a green arowana with defect scale or something ,l ol

What is the fish at 5:38 ?
That is a species of snakehead(maybe Channa barca).
Please please is that market like this every day or is it one day a week or what?

At first glance I thought that Myanmar arrow was a Jardini from Australia.
Always stoked when I see something for the first time...$3500 and might have been the only one in the whole place.
I wanna no wat happens 2 the fish they dont sell ????
They grow and get bigger…this isn’t a one day sale, this market has been in existence since 1942.
sorry, why do they only run so fast ? Why not explaining what fish were shown?
