Their makeup is very good! I've always enjoyed their cheek and lip products especially!

Great video, thanks! I love turnaround cream, clarifying lotion 2, city block, khaki eyeliner. Clinique is the only brand I can count on not to irritate my skin.

They make the best shade of khaki, I agree!

I have used Clinique products for over 25 years. I have tried multiple eye creams. My holy grail from the clinique eye cream is clinique smart custom repair eye treatment. I'll be 63 next month and it is one of their best. The moisturizer you used was good in my late 40s but not in my 60s. I find I like their clinique smart clinical multi-dimensional age transformer duo. At the end of the day, it all depends on your skin texture. Have a great day!

Hi Kathy. I have always wondered about their smart clinical range. Hmmm. I may need to try that next as a step up. I'm glad you're enjoying the custom repair eyecrea. Another one for me to look out for. Thank you for the info x

Hi I have used a variety of Clinique products over the years - it was always a fragrance free brand my sensitive skin tolerated fairly well. In latter years I have used the redness relief cleanser and moisturiser (both are nice, but the moisturiser is quite lightweight and only really suits my very dry skin in warmer months), the black honey balm (also looks good on my ultra pale/cool toned skin) and the cleansing balm (works well for me, but it is a bit overpriced). I have used quite a few of their makeup products many years ago, but over time they were all decluttered - lipsticks, eyeshadows, mascara etc. They have some good reliable products and are easily accessible in many countries (I live in Scotland). Tbh the reason I don't use more of their skincare is price - whilst the cleansers etc are under £20, the moisturisers are all around £33 upwards. Having very dry skin means I go through moisturiser quickly and a 50ml pot usually lasts less than 6 weeks for me - that becomes an ouch price tag quickly in those circumstances. The famous moisture surge gel/creams are far too lightweight for my super dry, rosacea and eczema prone skin, although the overnight mask works better for me as a daycream. The eye cream shown is also too lightweight for my skin btw. Apart from a few weeks in the Summer, Scotland is not a hot/humid place and I need a rich/buttery cream to keep my skin comfortable all day. All the gels, lotions and gel/cream textures they do so well, just aren't enough for my skin. I can imagine in a much warmer place they will work well though. The mineral spf works for me, but it is a fairly small bottle and isn't inexpensive. Best wishes.
ps they do a toner that doesn't have alcohol - it's the one aimed at dry/sensitive skin lol.

Hi Loraine. I agree with you about them being overpriced. That certainly seems the case here in SA. They often have flash sales on their website which is the only time I buy their stuff. The cleansing balm is good but way overpriced for what it is. I can concur regarding the moisturisers not being enough for dry skin. Even on my combo skin, the 100hr moisturiser is fairly light weight. I could probably use something richer in winter. I've used their mascara before which I loved, but again, not worth paying full price for it. We get one of two of their eyeshadow quads here but I'm not prepared to pay full price for them, even though they look lovely. I also find it strange and perhaps a little outdated that their toners still contain denatured alcohol as the 3rd ingredient. It's good to know that they do have an alc free version though. Thank you for all your feedback. Kind regards :)

Based on your recommendation, I want to try “all about eyes” and “city block”. Also, I must get “black honey”!
I own one of their High Impact Eye Shadow Duo’s. This compact is extremely practical for someone who is new to eyeshadow or only has time to fill in the base and crease. The compact is mirrored and both shades get used. It’s not like a big pallet full of colors you never will use. I have number 4 called “ Sweethearts”. One shade is a nude pink base and the crease shade is in a rosewood/tan shade.
Their soft shine lipstick in pink feather is one my classics. It’s a very sweet and angelic shade. Someone I’ve been close to for years goes crazy whenever they see me where it.

I have yet to try their eyeshadow and the duos seem like a great place to start. Thanks for the recommendation! Sweethearts sounds like it could be right up my alley. I'm also going to look at pink feather. I used a gorgeous pink lipstick of theirs years ago but it was discontinued 😢.

The eyeshadow duo sweethearts and pink feather lipstick would be very appropriate for a 15/16 year old girl just starting out with makeup as it is very sweet and subtle looking. It’s also appropriate for a middle-aged woman who wants to look more fresh and open up the eye area a little more!
I also wore “Red Angel” and “10 Gold Apple” lip liner to my 21st birthday. The chrome case has started to rust and it looks like it’s been excavated from a historical site. Unlike the Revlon one that now smells like chemicals, this one now smells like candle wax! A boring terracotta red color that I wanted to make myself look more mature!

I put the 100hr Surge cream and the all bout eyes in my refrigerator until im ready to use …it is so soothing and makes you feel refresh after washing your face and starting your day with the 1st steps of applying makeup. When the chill product touches your skin it’s just amazing ..

Have you ever used any products from the brand Clarins? I’m a cosmetics consultant with Clinique, Estee Lauder, and Clarins. Clarins specifically has different products dedicated to pre and post change of life. They have a lot of natural ingredients and plant extracts. You seem knowledgable about ingredients, and I’d recommend you look into their brand!

I’d also recommend going down in your clarifying lotion to a 2. The combo oily (3) is probably too harsh, and I’d recommend once a day either morning or night

I also really appreciate seeing videos from an influencer who’s giving a more mature opinion. I don’t see that too often, and i think it’s really important. And ginger pop is my color too! I also love the bronzers!

There's no fragrance in any of Clinique products, never has been. I worked for Clinique for a very long time

Hi Anna. You are right. I thought about that afterwards. For some reason I associated the spf with a certain fragrance but I realised after posting that Clinique have never used fragrance! Thanks for reminding me x.

This is a random question, but you seem so clued up. What kind of mirror(s) do you use? Same one for skincare as for make-up?

    • @Fifty-sense
      @Fifty-sense  2 роки тому +1

I use a 5x magnifying mirror. Only for my makeup though. Skincare I do in the bathroom in front of my normal mirror. It's a bit less traumatizing!! 🤣🤣
