    I have used both the moisturizer and the cleansing balm and I really liked both products. I do think many younger people are not that into this brand however I must say I feel an odd sense of comfort in being able to purchase some reliable "oldies but goodies" when I want them.

      You are so right I remember when I was in high school like this was the brand to be buying for acne even in college but now it’s not the hot ground anymore. I’m glad you find the sense of comfort in having somewhere that you can still get your traditional skin care and you’re comfortable with that…

    I am 50 years old. I started using Clinique when I was 20. I have used other products over the years, but I always come back to Clinique. For my combo skin, I have nothing better for me then Clinique. I will stay with Clinique until it changes it formula. I am of the mind set regarding my skin care, if it ain’t broke, do not fix it.

      The science with Estée Lauder is so proven and Clinique. I have nothing but great things to say about them. This has been the skin Karoline all through high school that took me out of really bad skin into skin. I can be proud of so glad you’re here and happy new year.

    I’ve loved Ester Lauder products for over 40 years my skins youthfulness is proof “If it’s not broke don’t fix it”.
    Sadly I’ve watched many great products be discontinued whenever I would try other brands, because I’m sensitive there’s not much out there and that’s another reason I love Clinique they have been faithful and loyal. So it didn’t take long for me to realize It doesn’t get any better than Clinique.

    Brilliant, helpful, and informative! Great to hear the history of a brand I love-but cannot afford! Fascinating to hear how it needs an up-grade on some of the ingredients in it's range. Thank you for this research which is unbiased, and should be a wake-up call, for the brand to stay relevant!

    ‘Relevant’ today means it captures social media for two weeks, after which people start chasing something new and shiny. That’s not what I want in my skin care. I’ve tried so many ‘clean beauty’ products. Most of them irritate my skin and eyes. I’ve never had issues like that with Clinique.

    I've been using Clinique for 12 years and it's a shame that their viral product moisture surge is never been friendly with me (gets itchy). I always use the DDML moisturizer. Aside from it, I love Clinique brand and I always get compliments from everyone how my skin looks good and hydrated. I never went to any derma clinic because I never have problems with my skin.

    The clean beauty community needs to mind their own business. They are not skin care experts, and that is a made-up term with nothing behind it. I have just rediscovered Clinique Dramatically Different moisture lotion, because it doesn't sting my skin. At 69, I have used various products, including sunscreen every day, and my skin looks great. However, many of the drugstore moisturizers sting my skin. The DD lotion does not. In fact, I have moved to the moisture cream t put on after I use my Tretinoin. I hope Clinique continues to do what works for them as a brand and not make major changes.

    Great video. I always go back to the Dramatically Different Moisturiser Lotion because I find it so soothing, such a simple and effective moisturiser, it feels really light. I've used their serums too, although prefer Paula's Choice's ones as they have better texture. I love their foundations as well.

    Great review Sean. I have used the moisture surge and would like to try the dark spot corrector. At 59 years old I have grown up with Clinique, first using their acne products almost 45 years ago. I appreciate some of their new additions but I believe they need major innovation at this point, particularly with those three step kits for each of the skin types. Their concepts are too basic and many products for oily skin are harsh and drying compared to other brands. They were once considered cutting edge. They could be again

    • @SeanKBeauty
      @SeanKBeauty  3 роки тому +1

    They used to carry a GREAT WELL formulated men’s beard/skin hydrator and beard conditioner. It was, for me the best out there. Then they discontinued it, just like that. 😢😮 I’ve tried their other moisturizers and all of them either - makes my skin shinny, too drying, too oily, or burns my eyes. I’ve moved on to Drunk Elephant, which cost more but my skin and eyes are happy.

    Without intention, I am an Estee Lauder fan. I had troubled skin until my mid-twenties when I found Aveda (who was later purchased by Estee Lauder). Over time I tried ALL of Aveda's face creams until a few years ago when my skin no longer responded to their moisturizers. I'd tried Clinique products before landing with Aveda. So when I began searching for a new facial moisturizer I didn't trust the trial and error process because I did not want to compromise the balance I'd been able to maintain for my face. I believe I received a sample of the Clinique moisture surge intense as a Sephora bday gift... and that was that. My face looks well loved with Clinique's moisture surge intense. I've tried the regular moisture surge and it's good for the summer months, but the intense is the one for me. (I still use Aveda's gel purifying cleanser daily, and the exfoliator weekly, before moisturizing with Clinique's moisture surge products).

    I still like Clinique. I used the three step for a long time and have tried many products from the line. I have found other products that I like as well but the clarifying lotion is a staple for me. I always find myself coming back for it. I also like Moisture Surge. Bottom line for me is that I'm open to new things and innovation but there are times when you just need to be able to grab what you know is going to work and go.

    As someone with oily skin, I find I come back to the 3 step system as I find it really helps reduce the oil build up. I feel nostalgic about Clinique as I remember my mum and I using it years ago. They have some great products, their eyeshadows and lipsticks are beautiful and I think they're trying to stay relevant especially to the younger ones with their colour pop range which are also of great quality.

    If it’s not broke don’t fix it. Skin care is a personal choice, so for those products that aren’t considered “clean” just don’t buy them if you’re looking for clean skin care. I’ve been using clinique for 4 years now and the smart night and smart custom repair serum are a god send. They really brightened up my skin and the moisture surge doubles as a moisturizer and makeup primer (or at least it does for me)

    I’m amazed Clinique has managed to survive with all the skincare brands on the market. I view it an an ‘old school’ brand and can’t remember the last time I bought something from them. This and Clarins was my (and I think many women) first foray in to ‘luxury’ skincare- that toner stung like hell and I continued to use it because I didn’t know better 🤦🏻‍♀️. Is anyone still using Clinique out there? And if so, what are your recommendations?

    • @SeanKBeauty
      @SeanKBeauty  3 роки тому +3

      I’ve heard that a lot about that toner and it really is because the witch hazel and alcohol is a lot for the skin to endure… I think a really great toner would be using just aloe vera juice the pure aloe vera juice
