Just popped this on after wrenching for 2 days straight. New master cylinder, rear calipers, a timing belt kit, water pump, all accessory belts, new power steering fluid, coolant, a fresh AC charge, and a general clean. I am really excited to start filming my car adventure, but the amount of effort in these shots are what make me appreciate your videos that much more.
I’m not a detailer, more of a car detailing enthusiast… but every time your notifications pop up I can’t wait to watch them! Love the videos, edits, and you got mad skill. Keep ‘em coming bro!
Your videos are truly something to be admired. A ton of detail and thought put into every shot you compose. Everything is so intentional and your attention to detail is really something to be admired whether cinematically or mechanically. I’m really excited to see you continue with the e30 project. Thanks for the content. PS you probably already know this but you don’t have a hose clamp on the intake boot directly after the AFM.
This videos make me warm inside =) And I'm more hyped about this E30 series than I've ever been about any build on YT before, and I've been here watching for a long, long time.
Honestly hands down you’re the best detailer! I always love watching your videos and I can’t wait to own a shop like yours one day! Your videos are amazing!
Ahh yes... The ritual for a chilled out evening! :) Chromatic, a cold lemonade and some snacks... Perfect! Really loved that one, but I am biased with my addiction for 80/90s BMWs anyway... :D
What else is there to say. Once again, Well Done! Hood Pad nightmare. I feel fortunate to still have the molded original in ok shape. Those stick on replacements from BMW are No Bueno. What where they thinking.
I started my interest in detailing when I was detailing my dads e30, the engine bay had stuck in oil and all the things that are not easy to come off, I did it all by hand never used water, any stubborn dirt just used a polish to get then off and once you clean these engines you can’t stop the urge to just pop the hood and stare at it😂 next time I detail one I’ll use a jet washer since you had no issues here, I was too new to know what I was doing. Also cleaning the intake manifold makes the engine bay pop
That’s awesome man! It’s funny, so many friends have the exact same story of getting into detailing having started on a family/friends E30 as well. Love to hear it! And thank you 🖤
13:30 damn, that “putting on new grip tape” technique is so perfect for that 😂 I never even thought about that haha Ive always gone straight to the razor blade trim. Man this e30 is GORGEOUS. Another drool worthy, extra envious pick up 😂🤣 I’m In love with that 2 tone 😍 I honestly can’t even remember if I’ve ever even seen that. So sick. Can’t wait to see where this project goes 😎🙌🏼 Stay awesome homie 🙏🏼
Very cool! I wish I still had my 318is. It was beige, and while I had it, I also started to restore it. I unfortunately had to sell it. Hopefully I can acquire 1 again one day.
My man drops a midweek gem on us. Truth be told I’m really digging this car more than that red station wagon. I’m interested in seeing where you take it. What were you using in the IK to foam down the engine?
I never really wanted an old school BMW but you guys make them look so damn cool. Now I find myself wanting the one from stranger things lol. I don't know anything about them but I like how that one looks lol
Lovely work looks great - interesting how the Japanese market only got the two tone paintwork - can I just ask don’t you slip all over the place on that beautiful workshop floor when you hose stuff down?
I’m curious is that the original color DiamontSchwarz Metallic? I have a 323i that’s the same color but has been faded heavily by sun after sitting outside for years. Might need a legit well done paint job to get it back to normal color again.
Just curious because I have a hood full of sound deadening material to remove myself: didn't you scratch the underside of the hood with that paint remover tool?!?
@@ChromaticGarage Alright, good to know! If you could recommend an alternative way of getting rid of the old crusty sound proofing, I'd be all ears! Cheers and love from Amsterdam!
Nice video's you make. But one advice is to never ever again lay bolts loose on your engine. Use a tool tray for putting tools and bolts into. The damage one bolt can do when it rolls into the engine bay without you noticing could be eye watering !
Got 100k subscribers before I ever used warp stabilizer. Still didn’t use it right 😎😭
It's 2022 and you still have to nest stabilized clips to use warp stabilizer 😭
Mega congrats! Won’t be long till 500k
Finally! With those super high quality videos you absolutely deserve it!! :)
been here since 5k dude 🤙🏻
Would totally love to see some “Chromatic” ride-alongs in these immaculate cars. Loving this new JDM BMW.
That’s a good idea Logan! I’ll work on that 😊 Appreciate you!
This!
Yeah! Just a chill drive with some freeway cruising 👌🏼
I must admit that, this is the only channel that i hit the like button even before the video starts..
Haha man I appreciate that more than I could ever explain. Much love 🖤

This isn’t detailing , it’s sorcery.
Wicked job. Awesomeness
Hahaha I appreciate that dude!
Watching this a few days late. Was worth the wait til the weekend. Astonishing car, and somehow even better cinematography.
Haha and I’m replying even later. Thank you brotha!

Thank you Jeff! I actually used brake buster. I find it’s a less aggressive then using strong degreasers on all the old plastic/rubber bits
Great work bro. Definitely in for some ride alongs ❤️❤️

Gorgeous videography, and even more beautiful e30 ❤
wonderful! you give second life for cars! C:

Nice improvements! What was the black product sprayed on the valve cover? Thx
Thank you! It was VHT black wrinkle paint. You can find it literally anywhere 😊
Thank you for this nice video and greetings from Germany 👏👏
Much love from Canada man!🖤

Lovely work looks great - interesting how the Japanese market only got the two tone paintwork - can I just ask don’t you slip all over the place on that beautiful workshop floor when you hose stuff down?
Thank you very much! There was a grit added to it so it's slightly textured. Not very slipper at all :)
🔥🇺🇸just straight fire like always man!

Such a beautiful car those bmws
I couldn’t agree more Steven!☺️
Nice vid. What kind of paint did you use on the valve cover? And what grit sandpaper did you use. Looked great. Thanks.
Its nice to see the progress coming along with the new Horse in the stable but what happened to the 944?
He flipped it

Most of the car is original, front end is not, I will have it resprayed once the engine is in and it’s driving
i like your vintage and natural outfit style also your detailing.

@@ChromaticGarage oui merci tout va bien pour moi.
17:46 what grit sand paper are u using? looks amazing
Thanks man! I believe it was either 200 or 220. Either would work fine
Do you get technical on the water pressure going into your kranzle or just open the water and whatever pressure is there you just go with it?
Haha no no I’m not that guy. As long as water is making contact it should be fine haha
Amazing! Would you mind sharing your importer please. Thanks.
Thanks man! The car was already in Canada for a bit luckily 🙏
Love yours video ! Nice Jobs with cara Man !! Cheers
Thank you brothaaaa!🖤
you did the perfect job bro👍👍👍
Thank you Brian! Trying my best🙏
hello, I like the result of the matte black in relief, what paint did you use ?
Thank you! I used VHT black wrinkle paint 🙏
Can I ask what soap you used on the engine bay and under the hood? I have the tasks to do on my 88 & 89. Thanks!
lol I guess not
I was just using P&S brakebuster.
It’s an acid free wheel cleaner but works great on anything super greasy
So cool. Great job.
Thanks pickles! 🖤🫐
loved every second of this!

What’s the first orange brush u are using.
The CarPro Boars hair detailing brush 🙏
Как всегда всё на высоком уровне!👍
Thank you so much!
you better use steelwool for sanding.
I didn’t 😩
Can you share where you get your car parts as well like the hood insulation?
I assume it's not the easiest to find 90's car parts.
Most parts come from FCP Euro. The hood insulation came from Delta Park Auto, however it’s a bmw part so you can order it almost anywhere
What watch is that if you don’t mind me asking it looks sick !
It is a Japan only release that Kapital did. Fitting for the car 😊
@@ChromaticGarage I thought it was the Chinatown market swatch they did a while back the 1 you have is definitely sicker tho

I think you're missing a hose clamp that goes between AFM and intake elbow.
Thanks man! Didn’t arrive before I filmed this 😌
Aha… uhahaha… yeah, issa nice Wednesday now
Haha best day of the work week 🫡
Is it actually okay to water the engine like that?
Yessir it’s literally in a car exposed to the road all day haha
Cool!
Beautiful! Just a thought, is that hood pad gonna hold up to the heat?
Thanks man! I mean it’s literally an oem part haha, it better 😭
You will be my inspiration 🥺
From Japan? interesting. My e30 came from Hawaii, Not one speck of rust, only sand to blow out.
What type soap you sprayng on engine bro?
Why do I find it fascinating that all that dirt is from Japan
Haha Japan dirt!
as always....good job
Thank you friend!
Should have just let the isolation on the hood out.
Better cooling for the engine and more of that beautiful BMW engine noise.
What paint did you use on the valve cover?
I used VHT black wrinkle paint
This may sound strange. But I love your pants. Lol. What brand? Thx. Great. Video too. As usual
