    a lot of people fail to realize that 8-ball on a 7 foot is one of the toughest games. 15 balls in such a small area causes a lot of problems.

    • @intothepark
      @intothepark 5 років тому +3

      Maybe strategy wise but that's not the main reason why we should watch....more safety play/having to bump more balls/having lots of balls to shoot at/SUPER easy pockets with all short shots makes 8 ball Very very random. The tables need to all be 9-10 feet (for shot difficulty/publicity from the general public) and the pockets need to be the same width to ball ratio as snooker. Pool is just sooo luck based right now... The difficulty of the game based on random chance means nothing, difficulty based on tough shots will usually give you the better player. If you try and go pro right now without knowing you're a s good as shane... You're not the brightest fella with all this luck they allow... I refuse to pay Winner break tournaments. Fucking luck fest joke

      Robert Hunter The commentator says a deaf mute managed to develop into a great player. At 19:08 it is explained that he didn't start speaking until he was 3 years old and how difficult it was. So it was meant that he managed to overcome his speaking trouble, is still deaf, and is now one of the best pool players in the world.

      The % is just the percentage they have for winning the match at that point, based off their fargo rating and the current score.
      How is fargo rating assigned? Just from playing in fargo rated events. Other than that I think the algorithm is a trade secret...I may be wrong on that part, though; I'm no math major, so I never really cared about that part.

    Rack 10. Van Boening scratches off the break and Hohmann plays ball in hand from the middle of the table. Have the rules changed? Shouldn't it be behind the head string?

      In apa it's in the kitchen off a break, I thought it was the same for pros too but apparently not...

      All just depends on the rules for whatever tournament/match they’re playing.

    A win by 2 game of pool would be interesting, the thing is the game might actually last forever. Depends on their stamina and I think Shane has more of that.

    39:30 wtf?! do y'all forgot the 8-ball rules? it's not just ball in hand! it has to be played from the base zone (up to the 2nd diamond, and only forward). What's wrong with the referee and everybody?

      This is a CSI event and not WPA. CSI rules is full-table BIH on a scratch on the break. Right or wrong, those are the rules that CSI set for their leagues and events a long time ago.

    How the hell doesn’t that thing affect the break ?

    • @markonikolic1386

      The break shot has enough power to get the balls rolling. The magic rack does not keep the balls together so strongly, but as you could see a few times it can effect the balls path if it's moving slowly and can be anoying if it gets stuck under the balls. It gives a tighter rack so the balls spread better around the table which imo outweights a few predicaments it has.

    1:38:15 Great example of how just slightly missing position on the first ball, can cascade through the rest of the rack and end up killing your clearance

    old jay Helfert never learned the rules when you get old, which is to be "nice", the comment about Strickland @around 13:21, but when you were a never "was" you have to expect that kind of comments from the peanut gallery.
