We bought a new Blazer 2L with the 308 hp V-6 engine. We tested several other vehicles of which the Toyota Highlander was a total disappointment due to excessive road noise and the Subaru Forester lacking in carrying capacity and engine power. After one year of ownership we can find nothing to be a disappointment in this vehicle. It gets respectable mileage at 24.5 MPG overall. We got this vehicle for under $33K out the door and think it a very good value for all the features and functions inherent in this car. I am 6' tall and can get in and out of it without folding myself up to do so.

In my fairly small town there are three dealers - Ford, Toyota and Chevrolet. Anything else I would consider is a 30 mile to 65 mile drive away. That may not sound like much, but when you're dropping off a car for warranty service and you have to leave it all day or several days, its a p.i.t.a.. Basically, you've got to get either a loaner (if they have one) or a rental. So, its down to those three for me and really none of them are my favorites. That's why I might consider a Blazer as Paul said "if" they would heavily discount it.

Serious question to y’all. Would like to hear your opinions... what leads someone to buy a car like this? Do people not do research before dropping like half their salary on something? How could you logically look at the myriad of vehicles in this class and come to the conclusion that this one is better than all the others?

With America's ridiculous obsession with SUV's and CUV's, we basically phoned in our enjoyment of driving about 20 years ago. We're getting what we deserve with these kind of vehicles.
America's SUV phase says a lot about the cultural rift endemic in our society and what facets get the most coverage overseas. Single people without a lot of money living in major cities want these. Stay at home moms in small towns sometimes buy these. The rest of my state doesn't care. Most people where I live drive sedans, trucks, jeeps, and sports cars from the 80s, 90s, and early 00s.

Wrong. If you think GM designers and bean counters go into a project thinking “What would Ford do” you’re just as delusional as the rest of GM trolls.
@@mybro727 you're the delusional one if you don't see the cash cow GM could pull against the Bronco and Wrangler. The Blazer would've been the appropriate name as a competitor.
@@briannavarrete49 What does that have to do with the point I’m making? Why would GM “regret” putting the badge they wanted on a vehicle that is selling so well? Arguably a bit more expensive than it should be, but great quality, styling, tech, comfort, and aesthetic. But despite the commercial success GM ought to REGRET the project because a competitor decided to move back in a different direction?

Love your reviews , but you also forgot to mention how the " All new Blazer American built " is actually made in Mexico. Detroit Tigers stadium ( see link below) had 6 of them on display until they found out they are made in mexico and had them removed from the property. Also the 3.6L has class action lawsuit on them, for timing chains stretching out due to lack of lubrication . The known issue with GM 3.6L v6 engines get 10K+ miles on them and they start sledging up because of the lubrication feed & drainage holes being too small. They still haven't fixed the problem in the 2021s, and now with oil changes they are being told to put in oil-flush before doing an oil change to attempt to get out the sludge build up. ( I know a service manager at a GMC/Buick dealer who even says " Buy a Ford, not this crap ) He also said that GM has told dealerships were told to start stocking the 3.6L V6 engines for quicker engine swaps under warranty & prioritize warranty swaps over non-warranty swaps. www.thedrive.com/news/27237/gm-pulls-mexican-built-chevy-blazer-from-detroit-tigers-stadium-after-uaw-workers-backlash
