Suspecting a driveshaft on my T6 as a potential cause of a vibration between 65-70mph when under power. Great video for instilling a bit of confidence!

Hello, I've replaced my stub shaft. and like yours my brass type olive has broken. When you fitted your new stub shaft did you push the c ring that is tight up on the olive on removal back into the same place on the new one or into the groove at the end 30mm before the end of the splines inner gearbox end. thanks for any feed back

Can you tell me what special tools are required please, i have a 1/4 drive impact driver with a 1/2 adapter if that powerful enough? Did you change inner stub shaft on both sides?

Nothing special really. Only thing you will need for changing stubby shaft is the long Allen key socket to reach.

How did you separate the control arm ball joint? I've tried bashing, levering and pullers and it won't budge. Bought an M14 spline bit to remove the whole thing but it doesn't go in, going to try cleaning rust out to see if that helps, my van isn't that rusty as I had it for most of it's life in Australia until 2021. I'm on my 2nd attempt at doing the job now

    • @AXISUK

It only takes a fraction of wear on the splines to cause a slight knock, plus a little wear on the bearings all adds up.
