    0:00 Intro
0:05 The valve cover gaskets and oil pan gasket was leaking. Just incase you were wondering.
0:36 Good reminder, change your oil and do it correctly!
1:00 Mechanic said: "He did not hit anything he said on his way up it started ticking then making a clunk the a horrible noise then no start I believe it was starved of oil and blew the crank and pan to pieces."
1:14 The mechanic removed the lug nuts (didn't come in like that). Good thing the customer brought it in, though. Crazy how a tire shop didn't see this.
1:44 Mechanic said: "Oil leaked out from the oil filter canister and now the engine has a bad knock." It was on a Toyota Camry.
1:59 Mechanic didn't mention anything else about this clip. Not sure on make/model.
2:10 Did more get any more information regarding this clip, but good thing they came in for a tire rotation.
2:24 Well that's scary and surprising they drove in.
2:40 Please don't ever do this lol.
2:47 The mechanic said it came in to get the exhaust reconnected and he saw this custom cross
    member.
3:02 Vehicle was a Toyota Auris.
3:16 Broken lower control arm. Look's to have rusted where it cracked but hard to tell on the video.
    3:26 Some very bald tires.
3:36 Mechanic said this customer drove the vehicle in to get air in the tires.
3:41 Mechanic said this: "Last trailer in a triple road train. He mis judged coming off a weighbridge and ran the wheels up on a large concrete berm while loaded."
3:52 Mechanic said: "This was on a steer tire on a semi-truck, so the tire had to be replaced."
    4:02 Outro. Thanks for watching!

To be fair, that truckie with the bent rims probably did what he had to do. It could have been days before someone could come to his aid and bring along new tires/rims.
You never want to be stuck in the outback for longer than can be helped.
If you can do a bodge repair to get you to the next truck stop/town/cattle staton, do it. And stay in contact with either your employer or the Authoritys so they know what you're doing and where you are.

@@j4y167 No, never been outback, or a truckie. Most of my advice was either learned or I've pickec up along the way.
As for being a truckie, it's a solid career for a young bloke, even more so if you haven't settled down with family yet. It's a hard job, long hours. Can make some coin, but it's not going to make you rich. Unless you end up with your own trucking business.
More so, you'll end up with a license you can use pretty much anywhere in Australia, and quite possibly pick up a few other trade tickets like forklift operator.
As for working outback, unless you're from the outback, stick to coastal work until you're nice and comfortable doing long hauls between states. Then try for a position with a company that works the outback. Then I'm sure you'll really learn what a long haul is. lol

@@j4y167 Known a fair few truckies, it's brutal af and you have to meet tight schedules in arduous and sometimes dangerous conditions. Brings blokes down to smoking ice or doing speed just to keep awake on the long rides and meet deadlines better, which ends up swallowing the decent part of your income and leaving you with nothing. Many blokes ik have gone down that road
Cycoholic is right tho, if you're gonna be a truckie do coastal work. That's the fun part of being a truckie by miles, going places and seeing things, and the inate freedom of travel is always awesome

The pipe had suffered very little damage, but obviously the tire could not be repaired. But when we showed the customer what we'd found in the tire his reaction was not what we'd expected and made it ridiculously funny. I've seen USA car-sales training videos selling 'free tyre rotation' as part of The Package. But, we also get by with straight-fours, while you chaps like your V6's and V8's. (Smiley Face)

@@terencejay8845 Hello Terence. We rotate tires/tyres in the US to equalize wear, especially since due to weight and balance, modern front-drive cars wear the front tires faster, leaving a perfectly good set of rear tires otherwise. So rotating them attempts to equalize wear, and extend the life (especially if you always buy a set of four when buying new tires). Of course it also gives the repair shops some money, but I know people who rotate their own tires at home. Interestingly, the British Tyre Manufacturers Association website has no information on tyre rotation whatsoever.

We have that mandate here in my state in the middle of the US, but nobody ever checks the oil during a safety inspection. If they did, I'm sure there'd be far fewer vehicles being passed as "safe"!

Yes, i understand this is all a joke, but I do check oil during a "safety inspection", even it isn't part of it. BUT you can't fail a veh just bc no oil on the d/s. But just to COA, my boss would always have us add just enough to get the level in the safe range.

I'm always wondering why some of these people never change their oil.
The best response I've heard is that one customer said he always thought oil changes were "one of those scam addon sales". After being shown what damage that had done to his vehicle he changed his mind and even had all his 2 other vehicles have their oil changed.

I got my first car when I was 16 back in the early 2000's, it was an early 90's thunderbird. Back then I knew I had to get an oil change every so often but I wasn't aware of how important it is to check your oil frequently, I went about 2 months without ever checking it so one day it started to knock. My young stupid self said "I'm sure it's fine, I'll ask dad about it later..." so later turned into a week and it started to smoke. That's when I called my dad while I was stuck on the side of the road with a smoking engine, an hour later he arrived and before he even looked at it he sighed and said "son, when was the last time you checked your oil?" 🤣. He's never seen me do it and I've never mentioned changing it so he immediately put 2 and 2 together. The bearings were ruined and need to be replaced, but it was a 4.6L v8 which isn't a very common engine size so it was an expensive fix, cheaper to get a new car actually which is what I wound up doing. This time with zero help from my parents lol, I had to spend all my savings on a down payment and took out a loan. So yeah, that BMW owner was very lucky the engine lasted as long as it did. People always talk about German engineering and how good they are, if that car ran as long as it did without an oil change then I would say all of that talk is justified!

I almost took my car in for a reason worthy of this channel. Developed a front suspension clunk in my Boxster. Super sudden, and rather bad. Was about to leave for a shop when I opened the front trunk to grab something... lo and behold, the spare tire had come free and was banging around. Derp. Tightened it up and no more issues.

3:43 that is probably more common than people realise with those big semi trailers, especially the three and four trailer ones. I've heard it's not uncommon for them to pull through a gate they've opened and stopped to close it, got nearly to the end of the trailers only to have to walk all the way back to the cab because they didn't pull in far enough.

Seeing all the oil issues reminds me of the time my friend drive his 2012 Ford Edge for a solid 3 months with an oil leak. Discovered what had happened when he drive 1.5 hours to help me move into his place and I notice his check engine light is on. I scan it quickly and nearly every cylinder was misfiring. Turns out that fords use oil pressure to keep the timing so when he ran low on oil he jumped timing and basically grenaded his engine

At bus stop she had the reindeer stuck beneath her car, it had been dragger there for 4km... The bus driver had a decent laugh.

@@randallvaughn9318 Having to get your car inspected annually is better than having someone with bald tyres and busted suspension lose control and take out your wife and kids. Sometimes we just have to accept inconvenience/personal cost to get a broader social benefit that pays off long term.

the clogged BMW engine reminds me of one we had at the auto shop. a BMW520, second gen, came in for TÜV (germany's bi-annual checkup) and some minor repairs. we found out the last oil change was before the west was won, so after the repair we talked the owner into an oil change... big mistake. poor engine survived that 3 minutes before it died slowly and silently. after removing the valve cover we found even more gunk and crusts than in the video. there was even a "bridge" across the timing wheel!
seeing the brakes worn down beyond anything and further explains the many crashes seen in american dashcam videos, as many were situations where slowing down would have avoided it. IF all four wheels actually brake properly...
