Incredible concept! Always loved the idea of wargaming and I come from a TTRPG background so I always knew about wargaming as the genesis of that genre but I also felt intimidated by it since many wargames are quite intricate in how much they intend to simulate and require a lot of table space that I simply don't always have. This is a great and accessible option for wargaming and I do intend to try out these rules. I would caution against the development of things like morale, race, etc. because I think the real strength of this concept is its simplicity and portability. It already requires some extra tokens to keep track of activated units, and wounded units have a card on them that means you have to be more careful when rotating them, so I don't think more components are going to help the concept. The game has some good depth as it is, and players can get creative with terrain to make things trickier without having to resort to more rules. I'm not against more rules, but if its more weighty simulation-type rules that I see in other wargames I'd be quite disappointed. Perhaps archers could get some sort of bonus to their range when on high ground? Perhaps cavalry can move farther when charging downhill? I'd be in favor of little adjustments like those instead of wholly new mechanics.
But anyway, that's just my opinion. Great work and I hope to see this develop!

Thank you for the lengthy feedback! My idea from the start has always been to create something simple that you can teach almost anyone, and not a full simulation. Another goal is to include as little extra components as possible. Extra depth will be added in modular fashion, giving players the option to include them or not. I will also make sure to distinguish within the rules that "these are the core rules" and "these are advanced rules". Right now I'm quite happy with the core rules as is, but I am still trying to figure out what needs tweaking or changing. Terrain is high on my priority list to flesh out further.
The races I'm working on will be called "realms" and won't reference specific traditional fantasy races like humans, elves etc. They will also have perks associated with them which will lean into specific playstyle. These are by far the most intimidating to design and playtest, but I do want to give a bit of thematic flavor for those who want it. I'm also considering releasing these as supplements instead of adding them to the rulebook.
      Again, appreciate the feedback!

This is a great idea for a game!
The main strengths of this game are its relative simplicity compared to other wargames and its ease of access (few components).
As the other comment suggested, dumping rules onto this game would not be a good idea, as it would weaken the main strengths. However, I do support adding a few rules related to the terrain.
Will the other two suits be used and what for? Will there be a variant with more units?

Thanks for the feedback! As I replied above, I will most probably make a clear distinction between "core" and "advanced" rules within the rulebook. The core rules will be the pick-up-and-play rules, while the advanced rules will add a bit of depth for more seasoned wargamers.
I'm still considering what to do with the other half of the deck to be honest haha! My first thought is to just allow up to 4 players to play, which is still very possible with the current system (probably just need a larger play space).

      Different playstyle obviously.
      But a similar idea.

@@dwwolf4636 Fantastic game! It is, in essence, the ultimate reduction of wargaming into a simple, yet deep card game.
