Bayo I actually feel for. Sheik can get it done but when she got a nerf it chased away the mains, look at void in this game he left sheik for pichu and after the couple of pichu nerfs he's now gonna use her as a secondary. Don't trust a tier list yet.

Anyone else find it ironically fitting that Little Mac, who is considered even in his own series as nothing more than a scrappy underdog from the Bronx, is seen by many as the worst character in Smash?
I feel like he was nerfed in sacrifice for recovery. I'd rather have the buff than recovery, honestly. It's not like it's THAT much of an improvement anyway. Just more protection from sideways launching,

@@sgrthethird832 He's got one of the worst recoveries, if not the worst in the game. He might dominate in the ground game, but his weak aerials and poor recovery puts you at a major disadvantage in Smash Bros. Since Little Mac is pretty helpless when he gets knocked off stage, you have an extremely low chance of survival unless your opponent really doesn't know what they're doing. So the key to winning with Little Mac is simply stay on the ground and don't get knocked off stage, which isn't nearly as much of an issue for most other characters in the game.
Low tier doesn't mean you can't win with the character, it just means that when you're playing the character you have to put in the extra effort and training to maximize your strengths and minimize your weaknesses to win matches.

He has a much better approach after the buff but he's still not extremely good.
SSJ4GSSJ3 Vegeta i dont know if the list is pre-patch or not but still falcon is definitely not high tier. His entire character is his combos and those are weak asf, with average to good di he cant hit a single thing off down throw, plus his neutral is lack luster compared to characters like wolf. Then his recovery also sucks. Its slow and he can get gimped super early by a spike because it has no vertical distance. Not to mention his down b, which has no use besides picking off a kill at 150% as a surprise move. And i havent even mentioned that his grab is way worse, he has some serious problems as a character and though he’s not awful, he is definitely not top or high tier.

No offense but I don't see how anybody loses to pirahna plant. Its combo options and approaches are so limited that its impossible NOT to predict what he's gonna do. It has somewhat decent edgeguarding tools but odds of it even getting you over the edge to begin with arent too great anyway.
TRPS you can throw a spike ball at the other player when they are in the air and if they airdodge towards you then you can up smash and it kills pretty low

In theory, that sounds good, but almost every character on paper looks like they'd be viable, but are subpar. If anyone with pirahna plant wants to play a few matches and think they can show me something I havent already seen and beaten, I'll play you. The only time I've lost to one was the first day I got Ultimate and was testing new characters lol

Angel Guzman They all CAN be good, but in the hands of an intermediate some will see higher success than others. The tier lists are based off of their base stats and overall performance as well as how the deal with the rest of the roster.

The definition of that tier is: Character who you can easily abuse for free win. All the one you just call have a learning curve so extreme that there is no guranteed consistency. By that logic, Captain Falcon and Falco shouldn't be Mid tier because they are hard to learn as well but people overlook the learning curves

Biggest thing holding them back is them being super heavies and being combo food by nature. LeoN 6-stocking cosmos proves that the character is at LEAST top 25/20,but the same cant be said for DK. He has no reps doing anything impressive right now and he boasts one the worst disadvantage states in the game.

@@zFunnyBoy_ While his air speed hurts him a bit, I think you've failed to realize Kirby has: A) One of the better combo games in Ultimate B) One of the best edge-guard games in Ultimate C) Aerials that either assist combos or have kill power D) Has one of the best air dodges, which actually helps him out quite a bit. I can tell you just from looking off this tier list that Kirby is easily better than the three below him, K Rool, Brawler, Isabelle, Villager, Robin, Doc, Incineroar, Falcon, Sheik, Game and Watch, and Wii Fit, and the reasons all have something to do in terms of Kirby's small size, combo game, and much more that anyone who doesn't play Kirby has no clue about.
You arent wrong at all, kirby does have some nice stuff, however kirbys airspeed hurts him a LOT. While a character like king dedede has terrible airspeed, what he does have is range. This is something kirby does not have. This can make it very hard for him to hit his opponent in the air. Kirbys combos are really nice, i agree, however, kirbys combos only really work at low percents. At 40-60% range, his throws are useless and his best combo starter, his down air, has a lot of startup and hard to hit. And the main reason being his airspeed, he sometimes cant reach his opponent to hit with another aerial because of his aerials not having range. Kirbys specials are honestly really bad. Inhale is not terrible, but hard to connect and slow startup. His side special, i dont need to explain, it sucks. His up special might be his best, it can be a good attack and its a decent recovery. Down special is like side special but it can be a decent surprise move sometimes, but still not very good. I've talked a lot of really bad stuff about kirby, but his tilts are definitely one of his best parts, quick, and all useful. Overall, i really cant see kirby being mid tier unless his airspeed gets buffed, its a massive thing that holds him down which is pretty unfortunate as a past kirby main, because i dropped him for a high tier (mario)
FunnyBoy707 Air speed ain’t gonna get buffed, there’s workarounds. His air speed helps him have a floatier landing which in some cases can be an incredibly useful tool to him. I agree his specials suck in terms of viability. Up Special though can be a good spacer, and while down Special is S Tier viability in casual play, rock is great when used rarely. Side Special is bad, but it has it’s uses. If you’re really good with landing it you can take a Stock at like 25%-40% vs most characters. Another thing to note is where Kirby lacks high percent combos he gains quick kill confirms. Fair 1 into FSmash, weak hit nair into bair, the list goes on. People are saying this is a difficult game for Kirby, but I tend to think it’s more people don’t see enough of him. You should check out Komota, he plays really well with Kirby, and maybe could change your mind about him (he also got top 100 at Smash n Splash 5 last weekend with all Kirby)

I main Ivysaur and K. Rool, Ivy was my Brawl and PM main and one of my favourite Pokemon, K. Rool I've wanted since I was a kid and first played Smash 64.
I know Ivy is high tier, but I'd still main them if they got nerfed to the ground, hell they were the bottom of bottom tiers in Brawl afterall.
it could be coincidental that their favorite characters are top tiers. the balance team tries to even the game out, and most matchups are fair.

PichuFan3215 While true, it’s quite hard when his recovery leaves him incredibly vulnerable and gives him next to no opportunity to edgeguard his opponents back. With Little Mac its basically onstage you’re a beast, offstage you’re a puppy. It doesn’t ruin him for me, especially when I mostly play him for fun, but definitely puts his viability into question.

Coming from a Wario main, that Mac who used the bike to extend the KO punch’s hitbox was really smart. I don’t understand why more people don’t do that.
Bupperoni Bizza More people don't do it because it's a complete hard read based around the wario not knowing that bike extends hitbox durations. It's still pretty smart,but easily avoidable.

Tier lists are kinda lame bc people can do stuff like this. Imo a proper tier list would take into account skill floors and ceilings. Based on what someone can do with them, I'd say a fair amount of these characters are actually underrated, particularly Ice Climbers, Wii Fit, Bayonetta (despite nerfs), and (although no video evidence here to back it up) Mewtwo. Also as of 3.1, Diddy Kong actually has a good recovery now!

This video kinda throws the idea of low tiers out of the water. When playing a "Low Tier", you just have more obstacles to work around to be successful. It is very rewarding training and the mastering a "Low Tier " character.
