Its great to have people who truely love the job! This man loves theme parks so this is his passion.
I do have to say, not all jobs are really a passion. I work IT and I like it and all, but its still demanding on me mentally and I wouldnt call it my dream job. It pays the bills and its not physically demanding. But I do believe I have a good wrok ethic and am a valued employee.
I have been working at this place for about 4 years, and many people have been hired and sacked.
Yet I have never had to fear that. Even when we had to downscale.
You make your own value. Be worth employing I believe.

It’s a seems that he was blessed with a good temperament that allowed him to recognize his passion. Clearly he’s inspired by the place and has a passion about it and that is what drives him. Work ethic is not what drives people people you can drive them with a whip and a stick just like a mule skinner might. But you cannot work ethic people into this type of inspiration or passion. It comes from within. If he were in another situation, if he were washing dishes, somewhere in some dank kitchen, and being treated poorly, I can guarantee you he would not have the same passion for his job. It’s clear that the owner of this company is good hearted, and that trickles down. So does a sense of entitlement to workers who give their offer very little. And those are the places that have a lot of turnover, and those are the places that sour people and make them want to open their own business where they can feel good about their day and where they will treat their employees better than they were treated. This owner is so smart as well because he is going to have somebody. He knows he can depend on as he gets older that he can start handing things off to. Mutual dignity and respect goes along way.

I have seen first hand from adults and kids alike what it is never to have been on the end of a father saying "well done son". The damage that does to the individual. I am a Christian and as a lay preacher have given a sermon where I spoke about the effect of not ever having the father's blessing, their physical father. Sure God is our ultimate Father and He does give His blessing, but do not underestimate the damage it does when not received in the Earthly sense. I threw myself into my work, and got nothing but criticism from people who didn't even understand what I did and why its important. It honestly threw me into depression and I eventually quit because it was either that or killing myself, like that's how bad the job was. They attempted to hire someone in company to do my job, but they all declined to do it even with significant raises because they saw how they treated me in that job. They had to hire 3 outside hires to replace me. So this video makes me cry that a work environment could be like that and being rewarded for passion.

The reason there are UA-camrs and influencers is directly related to the poor treatment. People are getting and lack of dignity and respect at most jobs. This young man was motivated by love of his family, at a sense of duty towards them, and a love for that particular place and a passion for that type of industry. It was a confluence of things. Human beings need a sense of purpose, and they also require dignity and respect. To say that people these days don’t wanna work is total BS. People want to live. They don’t wanna live to work then just be discarded when the bottom line for shareholders isn’t being met. Then you toss out the BS work ethic line. That’s just the carrot and stick. When you take somebody who has a good attitude and is excited about going to a job and then finds out within days or weeks that all of the excitement and enthusiasm has now been dampened by poor treatment and disrespect. This is what you get employees that don’t wanna come back.

Just on the chance it was, you would act completely on your game and you would blow steam up the companys ass and plead your hardship case, so they would know what to give you.

I worked for this same company. I worked on the boat not the park. After you are hired there are classes you take on the history of the company, you are given a book written about the founders and current people in charge and are expected to know this information. It’s a fantastic company. So, yes he should have known without hesitation who the current CEO is otherwise he’s not doing his job properly! The Herschend family are a fantastic group of people to work for. Maybe you should look them up.

What’s really important here is that the boss listened and values employees. Employees are not merely cogs in the machinery that are replaced if they break at some point. The boss values the passion this fellow exhibited and recognizes he is definitely worth investing in to make the future of the company better. That’s called leadership, compassion with a humanistic approach in dealing with people ( employees). Not only should the employee rewarded, so should the boss because he acknowledged company short comings, began fixing them immediately, and rewarded a good employee.
