What is your experience with DK Oldies?
The UA-cam channel is good, but their website🤮
It was ok, I got animal crossing GameCube, took awhile but it came. Maybe make a vid about it soon? The GameCube animal crossing
Never bought anything from dkoldies
Garbage they are
I brought a copy of gta vice city and 4 at dkoldies
I'm PA local. They're shop is just a short ride for me. They're a joke around here, and they only exist today because it's a family shop, and now because they went viral.
We have several better mom and pops within a two hour drive. They also aren't exactly spot on with "refurbishing" their products, despite what they claim.
Thank you for the extra info 🤝
Fello PA local backing up what you’re saying. There’s soooo many places I would rather stop at that DK. They’re a little further for me, bout an hour but every store between me and them is way better anyway. Classic Game Junkie in Glenside for example has everything cleaned and tested as well, a really fun and friendly staff, and most I’ve ever seen something priced above price charting was like $5-10. If anyone is thinking about ordering from DK, please check if you have any local places you can support first that don’t use “we’re a small business” as an excuse to rip you off”
You also have to remember that you're not going to get a fake with DK oldies
Cool for collectors
Yeah
the whole “getting a fake” thing is massively overblown 90% of the time on ebay you won’t get a fake unless your blind
That doesn't justify the massive price difference, as long as the game runs what's it matter?
You can say this about every retro game store...
I think the reason they have it more expensive is they pretty much make it brand new to a tee especially cleaning.
W
Still is not justified for 4x the price
@@Knockoff_Zacian half the time it’s only $20 more you aren’t getting faked and it’s gonna be clean working and like new
I've seen a lot say they don't even clean them good they got a bunch of dirty stuff and just do it for the specific orders they video
Yeah, it's always cleaned to the very best it can be, it's never fake, and then you have all the other stuff, shipping, employees, etc..
Bro said 80 for the n64 yet in every retro store in real life sells them for 160-200 ☠️
For the n64 alone

@@immortalspy3005 yep
Ya I see people going oh their a scam or they don't know how to price personal I think it's cause the assume since it's old it should be cheap too
I buy my consoles from them. Not only for the console, but also because their refurbishing is extremely good, and they come with a warranty. Also, the dkoldies team has some of the best costumer service I’ve ever encountered. I think these reasons justify the price.
Depends on the price hike. If it's DOUBLED than definitely not, I'm looking mainly at their pokemon games and the GBC section is a complete scam.
@@powerrangerblue8566 it's not necessarily a scam there is such a thing as supply and demand for example older Pokemon games and cards go for a lot of money depending on there condition
No it doesn't justify the price
Exactly youpay for the piece of mind. If your buying from eBay or anywhere else, there is a huge chance it will arrive broken.
@@rabbit908And obviously high demand
The way he has to end his sentence like dedotated wam
DKOldies has a lot of employees that make sure all of their stuff works, is clean, and is an official release.
And pay electricity bill rental shop bill too
Lmao! Tell that to the thousands of people who were scammed with dirty non working consoles 😂
Like every other game store has with cheaper reasonable prices? Lol
That’s just cap
I love their stuff!! I got a SpongeBob BFBB copy for GameCube and it didn’t work. They were like “oh okay, we’ll mail you a replacement”. No sending back, no anything. They were amazing
That's not professional at all it should be tested before shipped in the first place even if it's a small business they shouldn't be sending Untested games
@@Knockoff_Zacian they do, maybe his gamecube was like "aight im out"
@@Knockoff_Zacian They probably did, consoles are hit and miss
With retro games and consoles you get what you pay for online. I’ve had zero issues with all of DK’s shipments, can’t say the same when I’ve tried to buy the lowest cost version I can find.
They put the most care into their items tho tbh
Every one does
@@bruhangel1733😂No, everyone certainly does not.
@@bruhangel1733 yeah ubergamer2000 on ebay definitely does. He shipped my game boy advance in perfect condition. He is also very environmentally friendly, he didn't even use a box. He just slapped the shipping label on the console and sent it on its way.
You know this how? It makes it worth it in what world?
They clean and modify items so they work better than stock like my 3ds which I sent in for repair after the Nintendo online 3ds ended, I can still use the online features!
Wdym “after the Nintendo online 3ds ended”? Nintendo hasn’t shutdown the online for the 3DS yet. They announced the shutdown for the 3DS eShop, but it’s still up for now, and nothing has been said about the game servers shutting down.
The 3ds online features haven't ended tho?
@@tstandsfortheodore all my 3ds except that one don't connect to the internet anymore
@@limehuzki thats more than likely a error in the internet settings. Sometimes changing your DNS helps. But 3DS line has always had trouble with internet.
I got an n64 from my local store for $40 with original controller and a ps1 and genesis together for a combined $35
They also clean, test and package everything nicely. You aren't paying a thrift store or random place
They give 6month warranty too
I love how everyone loves and respects DK like yeah some things are pretty overpriced so I’d stay clear from those bundles, resell stores like that can hide pretty steep price hikes in stuff like bundles, and it seems pretty much the same here as well, but other than that if you find something that’s just a lil overpriced I’d recommend still getting it cuz the service and condition are pretty guaranteed and it’s worth the price. So honest and no clickbaity hate being thrown to be more controversial and get more clicks just a straight up helpful review
The n64 bundle is actually not in sale, that is a trick to make people think it's a good deal and that they need to hurry up because it would end (which i'm also pretty sure that it's illegal)
Yeah
Yeah, and it's an unfortunately common practice, there is a local grocery store that always does that
Also I think the bot broke
@@IDKisReal2401 yeah
Yep. This is a trick that alot of stores use. Ebay sellers do this alot to. Theres something about something being on sale tricks our brains into thinking it's a better deal. Also people will often buy stuff with free shipping over shipping costs. Even if it's the same price. For example they would buy something for 19.99 with free shipping before they would buy something for 14.99 + 5.00 shipping.
It’s not illegal. It’s marketing.
The thing with dk is that customers can trust that everything they order will be in great condition and last. I'm a collector of certain things and I've been screwed over by other retro places.
The bundles assure you a console and controllers plus games when the run out of stock. Individually, you wouldn’t buy them, but in a bundle you could get them
I remember I bought Sonic Adventure 2 Battle from them, the invoice had a little "Live and Learn" at the bottom of it. Good stuff.
You should buy a Nintendo entertainment system super Mario bundle at there since it was in great 👍 condition when I got it
I used to have a GameCube. It was fun.
love their videos
you can also go check if there are any consoles at the flea market. i got my n64 for 150 dollars (with 2 controllers and sm64) and it works greatly
Since your order got picked to be filmed I'm throwing in EmSwizzle.
If I’m correct it is a family owned business
You are indeed correct
So?
Thats like saying "it's just a small business" to them selling a 100 dollar game that is worth like 30
Ok and?
At least their great condition and you only have to pay for shipping once.
Looking up all this on eBay, their alot more expensive then what you listed.
Support local retro stores if you can!
The big factor is customer support and a piece of mind because all items are in great condition
They have a special departments for cleaning and restoring stuff perfectly
I always compare prices when buying not just video games but anything in general. I even look for sales while I’m at it. I like getting good deals.
Mint condition is an understatement for most situations
For a verified, guaranteed purchase.... I'd gladly pay for the peace of mind
i never got their products thx
i like their order videos tho
Their order vids are p dope. It’s cool to see what people bought
What to buy:
What not to buy: *everything*
UA-cam: recommends me DKOldies YT shorts
Also UA-cam: recommends me EmSwizzle YT shorts
EmSwizzle: does a YT short about DKOldies
Yes
all i can think of is that dkoldies stuff are tested and i rarely found complaint about broken stuff
so if you can find trusted seller with lower price, go for it
Please don't check from Ebay for accurate prices. The listings are not accurate to how much it actually costs just how much the seller wants to sell it for. Theres some price checking websites that you can go to instead.
While this is true in general, it is even worse for DK oldies if they’re still selling above the eBay listings. That said you’re right tho don’t use the listing gotta either use the sold items on there or a site like pricecharting
I've never bought a game from them, but I did send them Wii U Gamepad to be fixed and they did an amazing job for only 40 USD. There was a local tech repair place that charged me more for an incomplete fix.
I got a Sega Saturn from them. Very expensive, almost 300 bucks. They threw in a second Saturn controller for free. It’s very nice cosmetically and works flawless! 10/10 would buy from them again!
The thing to remember is people pay for convenience. That’s what DK Oldies provides. 👍🏼
Convenience and a guarantee of quality
@@lemonlime8949 yes. Quality guarantee wins over cheap prices

I never even heard of these guys until they popped up in the shorts and I still have no idea what to think of them lol
When it comes to retro stuff, I never deal with paying full retail. I’ll hit up yard sales or swap meets.
Why dose this guy sound like he’s confused when he’s trying to draw out his words at the end of his sentences
He inflects wrong
He sounds like a Muppet.
This is a really well made video
Seen alot of Manchild Complain About dkoldies Just purely Hating On Them
While you delivered a real Statement I do agree the price are high Especially when it comes to the Nes games
I had a lot of fun because whenever I want to try out a new Pokemon game I often do go there to get it
I kinda get why they price their stuff a bit more expensive theyre tested and if not in good condition they clean them if they can so yeah like he said if you want a game for cheap go to ebay or amazon or anywhere else but if youre looking for good condition games then check out DK oldies
Except their pokemon GBC selection that is a complete scam for those princes. I'd understand a 30 dollar mockup not double what its worth and in GSC case triple.
POV: pirating websites
Hah, the games over here are...

How will you burn them on the cartridges/discs?
@@kostya8764 usb stick and sd cards
You transfer them
@@andrei_respira You can’t do it without a (mostly pretty pricy) file dumper. And it’s impossible for disks I think
@@kostya8764 if you mod your console then you just straight up add the games on the SD card/hard drive and you should be ready to play, it will behave as a digital copy
See, they may be overpriced, but when it comes to DKOldies, I know that what im getting from them is in great condition.
You gotta also know that websites like eBay don’t check the products that are on there website. So when you buy a game or something it might be broken but DK oldies has consoles that are not broken
Then return them
It's almost impossible to get any good prices on Gamecube games nowadays, and me, just getting the OG Wii and am trying to collect GameCube games, it is very, very hard.
Mega pro TIP: don't buy anything from them
Eh, depends really. If you're buying a console from them its worth it for sure, certain games too. But any of the popular games are a definite no.
Wii console is probably the most overpriced. You can easily get one for like 30 euros
And mod with cfw
True, i can find the blue wii for 40 euros only
I agree. But they have some good GBA deals. I mean, they clean, repair and test it, so I think some sistems (like I said the gba, Gameboy and NES are worth the price).
@@aqwsderxz I'm talking about the original hardware. I have some GBA games on my Wii U.
@@jumentoqueanima the wii u is a nice
eBay is a headache at times specially if you’re looking for something that’s within the confines of collector items and resellers.
With DKO I know it’s run by many employees working, testing, so it gives me peace of mind and I also enjoy their down to earth videos.
What about GameCube Controllers 🎮🎮🎮🎮?
Wii U bundle from Facebook Marketplace: 120+ bucks
Wii U bundle from DKOldies: 500 bucks

Be honest I'd go with dkoldies cause at least I'll have a counsel that will work off the bat
Fool that Facebook will give u running condition wii not in good condition 😂🤡🤡
I don't usually leave comments on stuff like this, but I buy that stuff from them because I can trust it will work, and if it doesn't, they have been very good about doing exchanges.
And about the game cube games, they are all, legit, that expensive no matter where I go.
I mean if you think about it, they’re overpricing a lot of stuff cuz they need to make a profit. Especially for the games that are hard to sell or are high in demand
? Overpricing a game would make it harder to sell and if its in high demand than let it sell out at a reason price. DKoldies consoles, and certsin games are reasonably priced. But some of their stuff is triple the value of what it should be. That isn't really dependable.
@@powerrangerblue8566 I’m not saying that overpricing is the case for every game, but a lot of popular titles are being sold for almost twice what they were worth upon release, and the games aren’t even that rare…like would you spend $120 for a copy of Paper Mario: Thousand Year Door? It’s just bs cause I can find a copy that’s cheaper on Ebay so why not just shop there in the first place
@@freddurst5277 Its not the problem of being twice the amount on release but about double what's it's worth to the market. Pokemon gale of darkness and colosseum are they're closest reasonably prince games that shouldn't be at their reasonable price but is. However pokemon crystal in no regards should be that expensive when it has had a virtual console re-release. Unfortunately you can't get that anymore either but people would sell their 3DS/2DS on it for that price just like people selling a DSI with the four swords game that was available on the Eshop for s week before disappearing.
Man’s got that bullwinkle cadence
You get warranty and the stuff they sell is guaranteed to be like new, some would say that the extra money is worth it for the reassurance
Basically the best advice for any purchase is to browse multiple storefronts ESPECIALLY open-ended market fronts like eBay where you have numerous sellers that have to compete to make the sale.
Many years back. I got a N64 for $80 AUD. From a second hand shop and it came with 2 controllers, Mario 64 and I think Mario Party? This was back when I was 8 so... 20 years ago?
They clean, repair and has a ton of after sales service like warranty.
Depends on your budget and goals for your retro gaming collection. Everyone knows how to shop for deals online, especially those of us that had internet access in the 90’s. DkOldies sells a lot of retro games, so folks are old enough to know better.
the downside that i’ve noticed with other videogame companies is they seldom have what I want in stock
Honestly a huge problem, they're a fair bit of things DKoldies deserves to get s on but they also have alot of good things. Their stock being one of them.
remember to look for any local retro game stores. every one I have been to sells gamecube, ps2, and xbox games for no more than like $8.
One thing you have to consider is that Dkoldies product is guaranteed to work and quality and anything you buy off or of EBay can be good but typically not.
My copy of Ms.pack-man for me Atari was covered in pen ink and the bottom was smashed to shrapnel.... thanks DKOLDIES.
I just placed my first order from DKoldies the other day for some wii games! Looking forward to it! ❤
Reasonable. Also they're console bundles are usually on sale.
Another note most retro shop sell N64s with one controller around $120/$140. So the bundle isn't all that off.
The discount is the actual price. The do fake markdowns
I bought a few things from DKoldies but funny enough I did so through eBay. Them and LukieGames were like the WalMart of retro 20 years ago. Everyone else were just collectors selling their collection pieces.
I have a local store that sells retro stuff for cheap, I got a Gameboy color for $75 from there with a new screen
Sometimes consoles are more expensive because of how old it is or how well-built it is
At least you gave an honest opinion and explanation, some ppl jus hating
as long as ur after a cartridge, i recommend going for pre owned ebay games. they're usually super cheap and in decent condition.
Posts one of the most popular GameBoy games and rarest N64 games as "odd balls".
It's funny that right after this short, there's a DKOldies one
I think the thing people should think about is that most of the games are still priced less than what they originally costed so its not that unfair but you can always find stuff for cheaper but the service will be worse and likely untested
Like why pay 55 dollars for Metroid prime on dkoldies when it's 30 dollars from trusted sellers
I think that’s the point, you’re paying extra for security sake
The average cost of an n64 is $180USD in Australia. Unless your lucky to find it in a garage sale.
DK is an awesome place to get retro stuff but i agree some of their prices are outrageous! Definitely shop around and compare prices.
I got a funtastic purple N64 with 4 official controllers, 4 rumble packs, 8 save cards, an expansion pack, 32 games and a carrying case. All for 140 euros from Ebay. And here we see DK Oldies almost charging double for just the console and two controllers.
The thing is they also have to pay for packing materials, and shipping, and not to mention all of the employees the products go through + a lot of other business fees. I think most of the prices are justified. But yes the console bundles are a bit absurd. In the end they gotta have a sustainable business model so I don’t blame them.
They're expensive so I don't buy from them but I like them because it gives causal collectors a safe space to buy without getting repros or getting scammed.
It also reminds me of the older days of like JJ and Lukie games
Dk oldies also refurbished their consoles, so you also got to consider that into pricing
I've always had good luck with the price charting marketplace. everything has free shipping and prices are usually under market by a couple bucks
Go support local videogame stores, not including gamestop
Me not having any: 🥲
@@ABulbmin make one yourself using mud and clay
This is the best option!
Thats because some people on eBay don’t know what they’re selling compared to DK Oldies who actually does plus spends their time cleaning and checking the consoles if they work. DK Oldies do a great job at what they do and they’re a more trustful source
Just check the descriptions on ebay listings and search for exactly what you want. 90% of the time you'll get a better deal and you'll be supporting a small business (usually)
Dk oldies is amazing, they are convienient, they back their products, and ship well. Random eBay buys aren’t for everyone no matter the savings
“They are convenient”
dkoldies literally tripling the price: 😀
I mean what I see is most of the consoles and games and mostly very clean and tested after of course so I can see why bundles are crazy
There was a game I was looking for, Bust-A-Move Universe for the 3DS; turns out, DKOldies had a copy and actually had it for the cheapest ($5 vs $15+ elsewhere). Was genuinely surprised, and I did end up getting it from them, so I can say there there's probably the odd gem in there and they are worth looking at as a potential buying point, but they should definitely not be the only place someone looks.
One thing I'll give dkoldies is basically everything they sell is in some of the best condition used games and consoles I've seen
This is what I was saying... before all the refurbished news. Pair this with the discount codes and wait for the flash sales. Know how to shop... at reputable places anyways.
Could be wrong but they price the most popular items up because they sell more and they have to pay that huge staff they've got which is the largest ive ever seen. Every other game store ive been to has 3-4 employees and still charges a hefty price for games. Plus the other expenses that come with running a business like rent, utilities, cost of goods, shipping, etc. Personally loaded up my Xbox 360 collection which is at least 100 games strong now from them and only had one defective game. Which they happily replaced within a few days. Love their business myself.
Im sorry but why do you need to defend them? This video isn't even hate it needs no defending
@@xur925 I agree with you that this video has no spite towards the company whatsoever. But after seeing so many people that do spread hate onto dkoldies. i often try enlighten people as to why their prices are the way they are and how a business operates. (Some people apprently dont have a clue btw). I actually respect the opinions this gentlemen has and agree really. I don't buy the consoles because I don't have that much cash to shell out for them and also enjoy restoring consoles myself for a cheaper way to play like my 360 for example. Payed $10 since it wouldn't read disc's and fixed it easily.

i feel like the upcharge is for all the little bit of extra labor and guarantee that everything you’re getting is tested, cleaned, comes with everything needed, and is going to come as expected, no problems with shipping everythings done professionally and whatnot, still overcharging but you’re 100% getting what you paid for
No matter how much work they do tho the pokemon games GBC specifically should be nowhere near that price range.
@@powerrangerblue8566 They are no matter what, deal with it
I always have the Nintendo GameCube and it scratches but still works like new
The only time I bought from them is when I managed to pick up a really good sega genesis bundle and get a few games for dirt cheap
It don't matter how cheap but the perfect condition the console is in and if it works.
We do have to take into consideration that they do seem to be a small company so they still do have to make their earrings their own way
