Hi! I am just trying this hat. I am trying to make it toddler size but can’t seem to get the last rows to look like the adult size. How many rows would I have to do? Thanks
Just finished this hat for my sister who has VERY curly hair and a big head, I did 58 stitches across and added 2 extra rows of half doubles in the middle. I really appreciated this design, it was easy to follow and turned out beautifully. thank you!!
I love this. It’s perfect to make a ponytail beanie. I’ll leave a little circle at top so girls can pull their hair out in a pony tail. I can’t wait to try this. Thank you !!
What I love most about this pattern is that it only uses ONE skein of BULKY yarn. Economical and beautiful! I also added one more row of the 2 HDC & HDC decrease (by mistake!) and it still looked great and covered my ears even more. *Thanks for the written instructions*
Just made this beanie- thank you for the clear, concise instructions! I added a few rows before the decrease to make my beanie slouchier, and I love it! Can’t wait to make more of these
Thank you. I'm quite new to crochet and managed to follow this pattern easily and the finished hat looks great:). For the brim of the hat I found that 50 rows was too small so I did 58 instead. If I made this hat again I would add an extra row of half double crochet to make it a little taller as I like my ears to be well covered!
I just finished my first one and it is too small! I did 52 rows, so I am going to have to increase as well. I agree it needs to be a little taller. I am going to add 1-2 more rows as well.
We’re making some crochet hat for the homeless in Calgary and this is by far the easiest one!!! Thank you for sharing and make it sooo easy to understand. :)
All instructions I've seen for crocheting in the round do a ss to join, then however many chains the pattern calls for and then continue working in the round. That method creates that dreaded slanted seam. But you turn your work after joining and you have a perfectly straight seams! I love that. I am so glad I came across your tutorial. Also, your instructions are very clear and easy to understand. You do an excellent job of teaching.
...3rd times a charm! I've tried 2 other hat tutorials...one was way too big...the other way too small, more like a hat for an infant instead of for me....so I will give this one a try!
Getting ready to start my 2nd one. This is now my favorite pattern. Thank you so very much. I'm going to use these stitches in a blanket. With the brim as the border and then the rest as the blanket. Happy Holidays!!!
Thank you! My hat came out awesome and it was really quick too. I used Yarn Bee velvety smooth yarn and my hat is so soft I never want to take it off :)
I made this hat for an intern in the office but hadn't put the pom-pom on yet - the men in the office love this hat and now I'm making several for the men as a beanie without pom-pom. Thanks again for sharing the video! I'm getting addicted to this pattern! :-)
Frances Downey Have you had a chance to make the mens’ hats yet? I want to make one for a guy and I was wondering if it fit them. I’m thinking of using a chunkier yarn and a bigger needle.
This was the best video for explaining and taking it slow and letting me see every angle how mine should be looking..very pleased tried 3 already just didn't work out not enough detail as this was
That's awesome. Our teacher taught us how to crochet after our exam today and I just finished the brim in about the same time it took you to make four whole hats 😂 and the middle I lost count a lot so it gets thinner... but oh well. I'm proud of myself since it's my first time crocheting!
hi!!! i just want to say, i LOVE your videos! they are so calming, pretty, easy to understand, and to be honest your voice is so pretty. whenever i had a rough day i can come here and watch one of your tutorials, and just relax and knit or crochet. when i first learned how to knit in lockdown, your andes hat tutorial was my first hat i ever knit, and it was SO easy to understand and fun to knit! i gave it to my cosuin for christmas and she absolutely loved it. fast forward to three years later, and i can crochet too!! it is almost christmas, and my family made me in charge (of course less money for them to spend😂😉) of making a hat for our white elephant my family does each year. so, i am making this one!! you are my favorite youtuber, have a great holidays!!
Thank you! I love this pattern - it was easy to do and one of the most consistent patterns I've tried for making hats. I'll be using this pattern for my family to make holiday hats!
I love this hat!! I have made three of them now :-) The problem I have had with many crochet hats is that they were not warm enough during the winter, this one definitely is! :-) Thank you!
WOW!!!! fast and easy and gorgeously thick!!! i made mine with charisma color chocolate cupcake..will share picture soon as i figure out how...Thank You so much Danii!!!
Hey Dani, Happy New year and good health. I just finished the this beanie (my 2nd). This one turned out really well, no not perfect but I whipped it off in an afternoon! I am so proud of myself. I’ve been crocheting for 4-5 mos and loving it. Love this pattern , I looked for something else there are no 6,5 hooks here. I’m sending this from Greece …so anyway did the rib with 6 and the body with 7 so I changed the dec slightly. I absolutely love it, thank you so much for your efforts
Hi Danii. I just came across your channel and watched this tutorial and your Alps knit hat tutorial and was very impressed with the ease of the patterns and how easy it was to listen to you and follow along, so I've hit the subscribe button and look forward to future videos from you.
Thank you so much for this easy tutorial! This is the first hat I've ever made and it turned out beautifully! I can't believe you helped me make something that looks professional. The only problem I had was that it's too short. I used the same yarn and hook and followed the same number of stitches and rows. The head band part is perfect, but the hat itself is short. So next time I will add a few more rows before I start decreasing. I think it will fit a teen maybe. Either way, it looks so beautiful. Thank you so much!
I made with a medium 4 yarn. I followed along with the video; however, the hat is too short for an adult. Would you suggest adding more rows before starting the decrease? And would you add more decrease rows?
Yeah.... mine definitely didnt turn out as cute as yours haha. But it's the first thing I crocheted so I'm proud 😂 hopefully I can wear mine slouchy and somehow look cute. But my Hope's arent high
Where did you get the Pom Pom from? It’s so cute !! And mine turns out cute, however where the joined stitches are it’s a bit crooked. Is there any tips on that?? Thanks
I finally wrote the pattern down with all the final measurements!
You can find everything for free on my website!
