What kind of documents besides the passports do we need to get the Egyptian visa at the airport? Any vaccination proof, insurance, proof of hotel reservation…?

@sean smyth Hi Sean. Trip to Egypt was wonderful. Suggestions made to this site was useful. We stayed at the Steinberger Hotel, went on a Nile Cruise (Royal Adventure- stay away from this ship, not good at all. Old and dirty) Other than that, trip was amazing. Looking forward to going back soon.
Hello, will be flying to sham el sheik from the US with a connecting flight in Cairo. I read online that I won’t need a visa since my final destination is Shem el sheikh . Is this correct?
First of all thank you for watching my video. To answer your question, I woild like to tell you that Sharm al sheikh is also in Eygpt and when you arrive in Cairo you will go through the connecting flight but in Sharm al sheikh you will have to get a visa on arrival if not in Cairo. Because, to go outside the airport everyone has to go through customs and immigration and they will ask you to go to the Bank and get the visa sticker which is $25. Hello , mate . I am going to Cairo next week . Some people said that I need a visa from the embassy for that . The only option is just to enter Sharm El Sheikh and then go to Cairo . Is that right

That is correct. There are many banks branches just before the passport control counters. Just give them the money they enter your passport details and put the visa sticker on your passport. First just to go any bank branch inside the terminal just before the immigration counters and pay the visa fee after that they will place a visa sticker on your passport. I hope that helps. Thank you for the information you have given, how did going through the passport check point go. The reason I ask is we are 2 females traveling to Cairo, all the websites say we should get a private transfer, someone will meet us inside the terminal, take us to the visa office, guide us through customs and take us to our hotel for $120 NZD. Yet if we did most of that alone, then we can book a private vehicle and the driver meets us outside of the airport and take us to our hotel for $40NZD (big difference). We are pretty well traveled and respectful to each country we visit. But for some reason I am a little rattled from all this advice. So I was wandering, was it a safe and easy process to go through the whole process? visa, customs etc
First of all thank you so much for watching my video. If I was in your shoes I wouldn’t pay anyone extra. When you areive at Cairo airport go straight to any bank. These local bank branches are just before the immigration counters. Give they 25 US dollars and the bank clerk will place a stamp on your passport or sometimes they put a visa sticker on your passport pages. Take your passport to the immigration counters and they will put an entry stamp on your passport. This process is so simple that a primary school student can do it alone.
Once you are done with immigration process take the stairs down to the baggage claim area. Collect your baggage and you have the choice of green or red area. No matter which one you choose you still have to place your luggage on the x-ray machine and once you get done with x-rays you can collect your luggage. You can also get local phone sim in the baggage claim area.
You can get a private car to the city center make sure you get the receipt from the private taxi company. This receipt will have you fare writing on it so that the taxi driver not take you for a right.

I want to ask you about the landing card, did you collected it inside the aeroplane or you collected it inside the airport? And where it says "TRIP NO:" what did you fill in there please because I don't understand what they mean by trip number. And where did you take the landing card to after filling it out please?
@@Thaj_1021 thanks for watching my video. We were provided with a landing card in the plane. As far as I remember we took it to the bank and they charged us 25 dollars visa fee and then we went to the immigration counters where they put a stamp on our visa. I hope that helps. Can I pay the visa fee by my credit card or should I have $25 cash with me?
Yes, you can pay for the visa fee with a credit card. There are many banks inside the the terminal building just before the immigration counters. If one bank doesn’t allow you to pay check with the other bank. But, you should always have some cash handy in Egypt as most if the taxi and bus drivers don’t accept credit cards. Do I need just my passport and license to apply for a Visa? I want to bring the right documents with me to apply.
If you are from USA, Canada or any of the European countries all you need is your passport. But, still check with Egyptian consulate in your country.
If I'm not picking up luggage from the luggage claim area, where do I go?

I am sorry for replying late. I really don’t think you need a visa for just changing the terminals.
@@hilifetravel8764 If I need to go out side the terminal then change the other terminal...in that case I think, need Visa..If it is internally connected then I don't need.
@@alithetiger12 when I travelled to Cairo we went through terminal 3. There is a shuttle bus that you can take from terminal one to terminal three. First you have to clear the immigration and customs and then have to take the shuttle bus. If you have a connection from terminal 3 which is a Star alliance terminal meaning, Egypt Air, Turkish Airlines, Lufthansa, Swiss and Austrian Airlines. The best way is to get a Egyptian evisa so don’t have any problems when you arrive at the airport and have to change the terminal buildings.

You need more time to cover the most important wnd famous areas and other point of interest in Cairo. Pyramids is a good start.

I am going to Cairo but some people are scaring me about Airport security and immigration. Saying it is a nightmare.
In my opinion the immigration and customs was very smooth. You have to buy your visa from a bank inside the airport before the immigration counters. There are many banks who have their branches inside the airport just before the immigration counters. All they want to see is that you have your visa and if they want they can ask you for the hotel reservation as well. Once you pass the immigration collect your luggage and then proceed to the customs where they have a machine that you have to pass all your luggage and if you are not carrying anything which illegal to bring in Egypt then you don’t have to worry about. Just be a smart traveler, that’s all. Where are you traveling from? If you are coming from European Union countries or England or North American countries or Japan or some other big Asian countries then you should not worry. I hope you are satisfied with my reply. Do we need transit visa in Cairo?
First of all thank you for watching my video. Regarding your question about the transit visa of Egypt if you have US, EU, or British nationality you can have a on arrival. But about the transit visa if you have a long stay over 48 hours in Egypt then you can need visa for Egypt. The best way is to apply for Egyptian evisa. I hope I answer your question. Thank you so much for the compliment about my video. I am glad you enjoyed it. Regarding your question, I hired the cab from the airport. There are few cab companies at the airport. You will find at the arrival terminal. Make sure you get the receipt from the cab company and also make sure that you get the fare receipt. You will pay the driver at end of your ride. I also took the cabs from the street but negotiated the fare before the ride. I hope that answers your question. Enjoy your trip and stay safe. I am sorry if you didn’t like my video. But try to understand I was i. A foreign country and as I was making the video of visa process the official at the airport immigration area stopped me from making the video. I had no choice but to ibey their orders. @@hilifetravel8764 Thanks for your courteous and respectful response. A lesser person would have come back at me hard and nasty. I was frustrated as to whether I needed mini-photos or other paperwork to get through customs (simply couldn't find info on this). My e-visa had been rejected a few days before and my $25 went bye-bye. I jet out of NYC Monday and will have to give it a go visa-on-arrival. Just wanted to let you know that once you arrive in Cairo just before the immigration counters you will see many banks all you have to go to these banks and the fee and the bank official will place the visa sticker on your passport.
