Keep these videos coming. I can't get enough of these season reviews you have done. I have heard many horror stories of the 84/85 season and this is the first time I have had a proper insight in to it. It seemed a very grim time to be a Stoke fan.

Thanks for that mate, glad you are enjoying them. I sat through every one of the home games that season with my mum and dad, almost scarred me for life 😆I'm really enjoying doing them to be fair. It's usually a 2-3 week turnaround depending on what I've got on at work.👍

Well put together 👍 yet another enjoyable watch with a great soundtrack. Must have felt like the longgggest season ever at the time! If it's any consolation, after a good start the following season, 1985-86, we (Birmingham) were almost as bad, as we also went 17 League Matches without a win and lost the last 7 (and got knocked out of the FA Cup at home to non-League Altrincham ☹️) ⚽

Thanks as ever for the feedback and glad you enjoyed it. It was a tough watch that season let alone having to view it again! I've started 85-86 and I did notice looking at the tables that Birmingham had started well, didn't realise you went 17 without winning though. Stoke generally started slowly in the 80's. I can also vaguely remember the Altrincham result, although I've got the embarrassment of Telford and Port Vale to come as I head towards 92 plus Blyth Spartans when I head back towards 72...!

Jude Bellingham mate... at what age did Birmingham fans realise that he could potentially be something very, very special?

@@boothenendtalers I was aware of someone playing for the Under23s at just 15 years old and it wasn't long before he became the youngest Blurs First Team Player ever, just turned 16...but it wasn't long after that everybody knew who he was after a couple of winning goals and becoming the youngest Blues scorer ever...was never gonna stay for very long

Was at Stoke with the Albion on Tuesday night in March. We were down to 9 men but drew 0-0. Less than 7,000 there.
In our 2-0 home win, Ian Painter , who is a Baggies fan missed an open goal.

I didn't realise West Brim were down to 9 men in that game, typical of our season that we still couldn't beat 9 men. I've always enjoyed an away day at the Hawthornes, the club have done a great job modernizing the ground. In the 86-87 season, we were on an amazing run the got battered 4-1 by you. Our car broke down at Walsall, we hitched a lift and ended up being late and going in the wrong side of the terrace of the old end. The police ended up escorting us through to the Stoke fans. We should've just turned around and gone home that day 😆

@@boothenendtalers Then the following season we tried to get the better of Stoke's record , but ended up winning 4 and getting 26 points, including doubling Birmingham

@@boothenendtalers I was at that 4-1 and the 6-0 a couple of years later. As for being at Stoke, I've been 23 times to both Stoke grounds with Albion as we've been in the same division a lot , down the years (first time was Dec 79 we lost 3-2, Crooks got a hat trick). I didn't see us win at Stoke until 2012. Although, I've seen 3 wins in the last few years. I'll be there on April 19. Anyway, keep these videos coming - they are great. As kid in the 80s, football and music was my thing, as they still are now to an extent. I used to read the Rothmans books, and I do recall a few of these Stoke results from memory, even not v us. A bit sad, but hey-ho.

Great memory mate. the first season that I remember was 82-83 when I was 6. My mum and dad wouldn't let me go to night matches and I think West Brom won 3-0 as Stoke that season. My first trip to The Hawthornes was the 86-87 4-1 as I'd mentioned. Keith Bertschin got our consolation goal, he still celebrated like he'd won the World Cup final like all his goals though 😆 I (luckily) didn't go to the 6-0 (although the highlights are on my video for that season) but do remember Tony Ellis scoring off the back of his head (fluke) when we got relegated. Tony Kelly and Brian Talbot were two of my favourite players growing up. I was gutted when they left. I've somehow mixed up a picture of them bpth in my 86-87 video.
After that my trips over to you are generally very happy ones, we had that mad run where Stoke rarely lost. Loved the 90's clashes that we had, some great games for me to cover when I get around to it.

Not sure what was worse, watching all of that season back in the day or making this video and having to suffer it again
