Hi Adam, thanks for all of your videos! You have been extremely helpful in providing insight on the topics of graduate schemes and graduate jobs. I have one question if that is alright? For an international student who studied overseas (South Africa in my case), how would the process of applying to graduate schemes differ from people who live / study in the UK currently? I ask this as it would be difficult for us who are overseas to take part in assessment centers. I want to add that I have the right to an Ancestry Visa so I do not need any Sponsorship either. Thanks in advance!
I have 3.5 years of work experience and now I am planning to join University of Sheffield for my master's in data science. I heard somewhere that graduate route scheme is not for people having more than 2+ years of experience. Can you please help if this is true? If I am eligible when should I start applying for graduate scheme, I will be starting my master's in September
If you're wanting a graduate scheme, I'd recommend applying straight away in September (this year), to start your graduate role in 2022. From an employers perspective, you'll look like a fresh graduate straight from university after finishing your masters, so you won't have any problems because you have too much experience. I'd been graduated 2 years before I started my graduate scheme, and I found the additional couple of years experience actually helped my application. I wouldn't worry about having too much experience, it's more of a concern not having enough! If you're a graduate, then you can apply. So apply with confidence when the time comes!
I have just finished my masters degree in urban planning and I don't know whether to apply and wait for a 2022 graduate scheme or get a graduate job which would be a more immediate start. I am eager to start work but should wait out for a graduate scheme ?
GOOD question! I would decide what your dream career/job is then work towards that, instead of choosing something purely as you can start sooner. Dependant on you, that could be either a scheme or job!
I have a bachelors degree in civil engineering and masters in engineering management, so I am interested in roles of project management or complete management sector

Congratulations another one closer.
Cheers!

I am a masters graduate with no experience , which roles would suit me better.
What roles/industries are you interested in? And what's your masters degree in?
