I'm not a bass fisherman. I fish from the back of the boat, so I'd never mount a pole to my TM. Independent pole near me. I would like a dedicated head unit for mega live, but that will have to wait for the budget.... I have the Terrova so I can get away from using cable driven and operate TM from the rear of the boat with foot pedal or remote with ipilot. Spot lock is best thing in the world...I leave the anchor at home now.
I can respect your view and still give you a thumbs up. However I'm the total opposite and would never have mine on the trolling motor & always be on an independent pole as well as always Spot Lock. But you are a better fisherman your way and I applaud you even tackling the issue. Thanks.. You are the man..
I started out with pole and moved to trolling motor last season. I had to force myself to learn boat control and will never switch back to pole again. It's more productive for me and keeps my pole moving.
Sir, you are a way better Fisherman than me so I salute you. Everyone has their style. My style is can't catch fish with independent pole.😂🤣 Your style is I'm a boss & make money fishing. 😂🤣👍👍 No contest. You win.😁👍
We’re waiting on a new Ultrex from PTG. Can you share a photo of how your livescope transducer is mounted on your trolling motor. What length is your Ultrex shaft?
Matt, Do you add weight, as with a split shot to your 1/32 oz. jig. If so, is it for control in windy conditions or to see it better on Livescope or both? Apologies if you answered this question before. Also when do you choose to go to a 1/16 oz? Thanks! Great video BTW!
I noticed in one of your tournament videos that you didn't have the split shot weight above your jig. Do you use the split shot in non-tournament settings just for the benefit of livescope footage? Thanks for the video!

I think the independent pole works for many. Some also use spot lock to fish. Just my thoughts, thanks for input. Much appreciated

I always use spotlock and a separate pole for livescope and it's way easier for me.
Excellent content Matt; thanks for the tips!
Awesome information from a crappie fishing pro!!!
absolutely no idea....the plastic at 1:05 is not to be found! lol
Great advice. I need more graph pic help please
Have you ever used drift paddles on your power poles for boat control while sniping with Livescope? Just curious if that makes any difference?
Yes and yes
Why use a loop knot vs a Palomar knot? I’ve always heard the Palomar knot was the best to use.
He’s using a new bait.. 👀

yes I add a weight to the 32. I use it for both purposes. I rarely fish with 1/16 unless Im in tx or ms
How well does the 115 push the boat?
aluminum boat it pushes it like it doesn't exist
Used spot lock last weekend in ~10 ft water with looked like about 20 crappie congregating near a dock and they immediately scattered. 🤦♂️

If the water depth is shallow, I won't use the split shot. There isn't a need
