Well, sorry. Didn't mean to hurt your eyes. :/ Also sorry for asking, but why are you watching videos in the dark anyway? Turn on some other lamp in the room, like a small light in your fov so your eyes can adjust to it. It's better for your eyes, and next time you won't be flash banged. :]
if there was some way to use motion extraction but also retain the original minecraft coloring, this could be helpful for like keying out backgrounds in scenes where you don't have a green screen set up. if anyone figures this out let me know
you can turn the footage black and white, and apply a curves adjustment so that everything that moves turns completely white and the static background stays black then you can use this footage as a mask that can be applied on the footage (white parts stay opaque, black parts turn transparent)
Imagine playing with this on the entire time. Ooh... Everything so pretty.. Wait. What is that? It's coming towards me. Looking oh so pretty. Flickering lights. Dappled sunlight. Tssssss* (creeper noises) Oh... Kabooom! Well... At least the explosion was pretty.
This is a interesting way of doing this, normally i would make the image gray scale, then take a weighted average of all the frames for the duration of the motion i want to extract, then subtract that from the current image. But still, great vid :D
This is really cool!! Thanks for sharing it and showing some examples in Minecraft. I might definitely try this in some of my projects Also Posy is definitely underrated. He makes some really awesome stuff imo
Nettom, i really enjoy your videos and i love your content, please keep going, i literally watched them all, you're the best, Nettom. Ps your building is amazing and you're really funny
Wooow! The enchanting table look AMAZING! The nether only takes the particles right? Like with the snow? The sheep look like us moving in a city haha, looks like they're walking jaja. Now shaders just look INCREDIBLE, but my PC can't deal with 'em... Amazing. Good job!
3:05 OH MY GOD IS THAT SHOTCUT?! I saw you said that this process almost killed your pc, I'd recommend trying out some other free options for editing software since Shotcut just didn't work on my computer when I first tried to learn it! I assume that's cause it was maybe un-optimized but maybe it just wasn't compatible with my hardware? Regardless, Neat application of this trick! :D
i tried making a shader to do motion extraction after watching posys video, but the lack of movement in mc, the fact i can only reasonably do 3 or so frames of delay and the fact that camera movement messes it up meant it didnt work very well lol
Make a short of those water designs and yeah, that is cool. It’ll take off. That looks amazing. Thanks a ton for explaining everything and sharing this awesome stuff
THe best aspect of this video was definitely the narration. You did it in such a great way, and you really made the video more interesting, as it is actually funny lmao lol XD haha hehe
I think all of them look really cool but my favorites are the lava and the explosion. Good for If you wanted a really cinematic shot of a cave or a really fun semi-old school feeling Minecraft UA-cam intro lol

I just had this same idea with ultrakill. There's so much movement there that it's really only cool for the UI elements. I was thinking about other games I should try it on... perhaps some vr games?
@@Nettom_Minecraft Alright! I tried beatsaber, and Into the radius. I also threw in a clip of my sister at the range. ua-cam.com/play/PLBJymPPKj3RBQkVBbLxDpqTg1Wm2OJhZk.html Interesting effects - when coising on on someone, the entire worlds starts to go grey until i shoot - and then you can see the smoke from the shot quite easily. in beatsaber, the lights stand out a lot more as well
Okay, what I think I did was I saved the clip as the grey version as a video and then in a new file I put up the contrast and changed the highlights and midtones to the blue and orange.
Hey Nettom, nice vid! I can get the basic motion extraction done where everything is grey and movement is highlighted, but I can't seem to figure out how to add colour to that like you have in the examples in the latter half of the vid. Help would be greatly appreciated!
Hello there! :D So what I did, because I don't think posy mentioned how to do this: After you have extracted the motion and everything is grey, you gotta export your video. Then, you take the exported video and put it back in your editing program. After that, you gotta apply some kind of colour correction filter so that it turns the grey parts to black and the extracted bits more bright and saturated. You can even change the hue if your program allows for that. :D I hope this helps! :]
Really awesome video, for such a small channel like yours. But I think you know that your voice is not very pleasant to listen to yet. You could get someone you know, or just "buy" someone to do the voicing for you. Besides that the video is really cool, keep it up!
I mean thank you, but why would you say that? Like seriously, why? :/ Anyway, my voice is awesome, and I am not going to use someone else to voice me videos. :O
Hello, it's been a while since I made that video. I think I just experimented with contrast and hue. I made the grey almost black, and every other thing will stand out a lot. It might look red and blue. Then you can shift the hue to something you prefer. Hope that helps. Let me know if it worked. :D
It's nice to see other applications of this technique, and more people seeing Posy's videos is always a plus! Great video!
Yeah, posy is just the most inspiring creator I have seen on youtube so far! Also thanks so much! :D
A FUCK THE FLASH BANG AT 1:08 , ITS 11 30 PM HERE AND IM IN DE BED, THIS STILL HURTS MY EYES

@@Nettom_Minecraft because, in the mind of my parents im sleeping, but im """sleeping"""" you know?
I see... well... there is not that much I can do. Sometimes I just need a white background, lol

Now make a Minecraft mod that does this in realtime.

Someone make a shader that just does this

Turn it into a shaders pack and try to beat minecraft. I dare you! no, I double dog it! twice the amount of canine!
I could try to ask someone to make it for me because I have no idea how to make shaders, but I really like the idea! Thank you! :D
@@Nettom_Minecraft i managed to make it into a very basic reshade shader, but it doesn't look as cool in realtime and is barely playable
