Love this gun, however I have just had my second skirmish day with it. And both times I have had overheating problems/ the GATE Titan (Advanced) kicks in and wont let it turn over. It is fine again after allowing cool down for 5-10 mins. Its almost as if the recoil system is to much load for the motor to handle? (Completely stock gun except the hop bucking) my gun tech recommended that as the only upgrade and the Gate for it out of the box. So would my gun perform more consistent with an upgraded motor? And if so is it long axle or short? The 50000 CNC infinity come as recommended? Is there a brushless motor that would benefit this gun? Much more efficiency and less overheating of the motor? FYI first skirmish game I only had the GATE on 60% rate of fire. I didn’t have any pre-cocking or extra fancy features on. My second skirmish day I turned the rate of fire down to just 30% and spent 80% of the day on single fire only, yet it still overheated. I have tried LiPo’s Nuprol 1300mah 11.1 a Nuprol 2600mah 11.1 Nuprol 1300 mah 7.4 I have also tried Titan LiOn 3000mah which i was recommended by the gun tech, it seemed the titan batteries performed better at helping the gun cycle. However with all of these batteries listed I still have had the motor overheating problem. I have also sent the gun to my gun tech TWICE and the company I bought it from and both confirmed its perfectly fine (but obviously don’t take it to a skirmish day.) I have the KwA Mod1 (VPS) with the same Titan Gate and it performs amazing, leads me to believe that its the motor and recoil system being a burden on the TK 45. Sorry to waffle on, but I really would like some help and clarification, mainly because I really want to love my TK45 but if these issues persist I will probably just stick to the MoD 1. Any and all help will be much appreciated thanks.
Hello! Your issue there is the motor not dealing with the active break very well. I have run the Warhead brushless motors and those basically eliminate the overheating issues, but if you want to keep a brushed motor you can look at turning down the active break to "just enough" to stop the gearbox over spinning (double shooting on a single shot) and that should aleviate the issues. I would also maybe have the shimming checked to see if the gears have been inadvertantly shimmed too tight and that is putting additional stress on the motor. Pheas
You never removed the buffer tube in this video. I tried removing mine today and got to the point where it wouldn't come out. Do you need like a 12inch screw driver to remove the screw at the end of the "inside" of the buffer tube?
Hello! if you check out the video for the titan install I show how to remove it, you can either leave the wiring attached but lift the gearbox out and rotate it all around (careful not to catch / crimp the wires) or you can disconnect the wires and remove the geabox and then unscrew it. Pheas
Was wondering if the fire selector on the tk45 can be replaced with any m4 selector mine is broken and won’t go on safe only semi and full auto and the selector on the right side spins 360 degrees not sure what could be wrong with it just need somewhere to start
hiya, on the outside it's the same as a normal airosft m4 syle selector, on the inside it's different, it's a toothed gear that links into a specific position with the selector plate. If your selector is not moving the plate then either the selector plate is broken (most likely as they can break easily ) or the gear is slipped or broken (less likely) the selector on the right spinning freely is due to either it slipped out of the gear or the connecting cam that sits in the bottom of the receiver has broken or the gear on the selector is broken. So it would need to be opened up to see and then get some parts. If you are in the UK I know JTAC customs could sort you out with the parts! Hope that helps. Pheas
Pheas Airsoft unfortunately I am not in the uk I live in the United States and am not familiar with opening up guns I’ll probably have to take it to my local shop and see if they can help, but I appreciate your quick response and the bit of knowledge you shared thanks to you I won’t be buying an m4 selector and trying to repair on my own and possibly breaking it more
HIya. so you are at the step to split them? I find that the plate that holds the hop in place can shift and block the lower from coming apart. Its awkward, but if you put a screwdriver up the mag well and push on the plate whilst also trying to split them it should come apart, but might need a good bit of effort to split. Hope that helps! Pheas
It shouldn't do, unless it has left metal exposed and it touches the other wire or other metal, could cause shorting and issues, but provided it can't touch something else, especially the other wire (must be exposed as well) then it shouldn't be an issue.
@@PheasAirsoft Oh man, thank the gods. I thought I messed up lol. Also, is it possible to install just the Gate Titan module in the TK45C without the USB link? I ended up getting only the advanced module and the stickers from a local shop and I forgot about the software part.
@@kazekizu You should be fine to just install it without the USB link. If the chip is second hand though it may have a configuration installed on it already, if its brand new it should be OK to just fit and go. Good luck with the install.
Thanks for the comment. It is, yes, but you would need to probably place something to stop it moving at all as the recoil weight can move freely and this would cause firing issues.
That is a very good question. I've not tried to fit them into the Ronin recon, but externally they look pretty much identical. Internally it's opened up more to allow the titans to slot in... This is definitely something I will be looking into as this opens up the use of the titan in the Ronin recon if the gearbox is the same dimensions
@@PheasAirsoft I noticed this new gearbox kwa took out the cut off feature. I'm planning on doing a full gearbox mod to the Ronin recon so I can install a gate titan.
@@misamisatv hello. Physically you can't add this feature as the magazines done support that sort of thing. However in the gate MOSFET (I think it's the gate) there is a "magazine" mode where you can tell it how many rounds are in the mag, it will count shots fired and then stop firing for a period of time, to allow you to change mag, then reset the counter and go again. That's the only way you could do it. Pheas
@misamisatv if you get the gate... Depends on the model. If it's the titan II then it's Bluetooth to your phone. If you get a titan I then you will need either a usb link or a blulink, if you buy an higher end version of the titan I they will usually come with one or the other. Pheas
Hiya thanks for the question. They are based off version two gearboxes but are different enough that it's unique. Some of the internals are V2 compatible like the gear set and piston. @@Wirus_87 more than welcome for the reply. It is an excellent aeg and performs really well, even better with the titan in it for the extra features. Good luck though with what you decide to go for!

Hey! Have a quick question that I hope you can answer. I'm going to try and make this a speed build, but I don't know how the blowback will affect it. Is there a way to deactivate the blowback on this? Thanks so much!
Hiya, thanks for the question. The recoil weight will slow down the cycling of the gearbox and put added stress on it turning over quickly. You can remove the recoil weight, but would need to replace it with something similar in shape as it also acts as a spring guide. You could instead get the tk45c which doesn't have recoil at all and uses a slightly different stock but would be perfect to build a build build around. Hope that helps
