Thank you for letting us know that you are safe. I was concerned for your well-being and was hoping you would post at least just a message that you were A-OK. Thank God! Thanks for posting.
It sad to know that you'll were hit by the hurrycane and lots of damage especially the powerlines in and around your state. Yet happy to know that you'll are ok and that you have generators to help. Meg is very possitve and hope you'll will settle everything smoothly after this. God bless🙏💙
I live in Dallas Texas. Just heard on the news that volunteers are coming to western North Carolina to provide meals to all the people that are affected by the hurricane.
It's just amazing how people far away are so caring they react like that. When we had the fires in the Smoky Mountains we had fire trucks come from as far away as Utah i think it was. Americans are amazing people!!!
After living thru Florence and 16 days without power, yes there is always damage and destruction from a hurricane, but the one thing that still stays with me is how the community came together and not just the locals but many from far off! We had linemen from Houston area and from other states, churches from upstate feed us! Although there is destruction, people come together for each other! Prayers of strength and love.
Our friend who works for NYSEG just left Saturday, please pray for these guys who will be working for you until all the power is restored! We are praying for you! 🙏♥️🙏
Thank you for posting this--I'm currently going back and forth with other viewers who are concerned about you and others in your area. Prayers for all affected by this awful event. So glad you're all right. ❤
Your Little daughter is so so so so CUTE. I am so glad you all are safe on your farm. I asking the Angels to be with you in your town safe & are able to get all back to working again.
For your ‘senior citizen copa’ if you get one that is too hard to slice, you can grate it against a box grater and use almost like bacon bits would be used-smatter on vegetables, sprinkle on salads, etc.
Thank you, thank you for checking in, it really eases my heart to know you are all ok. So many of my online friends/family are ok and I am very relieved.. Take care and love to you all. Be safe, my extended family.❤😀

Yes those thunderstorm were scary, worst I've ever heard. NC is devastated. I have power lines in my front yard. Had no power or cell service. 24 miles away Chimney rock NC is Completely Gone. Total devastation. Glad everyone is safe neighbor❤❤
The little princess is getting so big and adorable. Can’t get over how big Buggy is getting. You have a wonderful family. Love how the boys are so willing to help. Will be great for when they have they’re own. You have taught them how to treat a woman. ❤️❤️❤️❤️🙏🙏🙏🙏
This is the beginning of us pulling together like communities used to do. We are going to save ourselves working together. I praying for all those affected from bone dry Texas.
After the storm.. this is when you see true humanity shine. Usually in the shape of farmers, who get on and do what needs to be done ...for others and for themselves. Every time we get a storm in the UK, this is what I witness. I praise God for it.
Thank you for letting us know y'all are okay! Up here in Sparta, NC and surrounding counties, we got hit pretty hard! I'm thankful that everyone I know is okay!! There's damage and many are still waiting for power to be restored!! Thank God!
WE are so GRATEFUL for all their time and efforts. AND we continue to PRAY for the Suffering people, Volunteers, Linemen, Tree trimmers, food preparers, Clean up crews, Chaplins, and anyone else I forgot [I'm sorry]. - FROM GREENVILLE Co, SC
Glad you guys are all safe. The number of people you were saying are out of power is most of us here in NZ. We have 5.1million in our entire country 😮❤
Thank you Jesus !!! That this did not occur in a more challenging time of the year. This is totally different, but in 2011 Western KY endured a horrific flood. And I was so grateful it that the time of year that it happened. Because, like you all said, it was not freezing cold and it was not 90 degrees. Many still endured mold issues......but it could have been a lot worse. I had my children out sandbagging and it was much better than the heat of summer, and MUCH better than in freezing temps. I am so grateful you guys, your livestock, and your neighbors are safe from this catastrophic storm.
I'm sure the pigs enjoyed the leaves from the fallen trees. Good news everyone in the family is okay. There are so many people who don't prepare for storms. Being a homesteader means we all prepare for days like this. The prep includes being able to cook food some how, some way, have food, water, and toilet paper+ The plus means other items not necessary to mention. It looks like you have everything in control. If there's something we can do to help, please don't hesitate to let your followers know. Hugs to y'all.
So happy the family is safe. I can empathize with y’all. We just went through Hurricane Francine. We got 7”’s of rain. She was a baby hurricane in comparison. We lost a portion of fence & some tin. City lost lots of white oak trees. We were blessed. It could have been much worse. Hurricane Ida left us without power for 30 + days.
Glad you all are ok. We had a bunch of trees come down and couldn’t get out of the neighborhood but friends came to the rescue. No power as yet. Hope y’all have a generator or power. Heard there was a curfew for our county at 7:30
Wow, strobing thunder and lightning for hours. Making bacon! Lots of pepper to grind. I like the cheat! Yum, brown sugar, pepper, and salt for the curing. That's cool that you have learned that bacon is really easy! That is an incredible Coppa meat! The meat in the vacuum bags have to be wrapped and dried out for more Coppa meat! Wow, that's some rain! Pancakes! Lots of downed trees! I'm so glad all your neighbors are okay. Yes, you will have wood chips! Nice job Ben and boys clearing out the tree from the pig pen! Thanks for this tip to be prepared. Thanks for this video Hollar family!
Your family came to our family's mind when this all happened. We are just over the mountain from y'all in East TN. My parents lost everything. With so many others in this area as well. So glad you all are safe. Stay safe and strong.
I'm sorry to hear your parents lost everything. I know how tragic that can be. I will hope that your family and others in your position are safe now and can begin to start the journey of rebuilding soon. Hugz
I’m so glad you are all okay. How lucky to have equipment like the wood chipper to get rid of the fallen trees straight away instead of having to double handle them. And thank goodness you are fairly self sufficient as far as food goes (to fed those hungry boys!). Keep smiling! 😊
Thanks for updates of Rhodes, Sow The Land, and y’all. Also hoping Brie and fam ok. You mentioned Rhodes had some damage, but family ok. Really appreciate hearing from you. hugs all around, Carolee in Anchorage 😊
We in Central & Southern Indiana got quite a bit of damage from Helene. We received 4 or more inches of rain in a few hours & then more rain. We had strong winds that took down trees & power lines. Closing several roads & Highways. We did not take the direct hit like Yall did. She was over 370 miles wide when she made landfall. (The largest since Hugo in 1989 to hit the Carolina’s ) The Ohio Valley did get some Flooding & Wind Damage. Helene was a MASSIVE HURRICANE. I’m 62 & she was the largest I can remember hitting us. PRAYERS for all. Ben is correct be prepared. The key is you must prepare for the what if situation. We have practice this our entire 44 years of marriage.. We normally just get some rain from hurricanes but Helene is one for the record books.
We are also in Western NC foothills area. We are so blessed compared to some folks west of us. Entire town have been whiped out. No power here and we have been able to see where we are prepared enough and what needs improving. Please pray for the folls in the Western NC and East TN area.
I live in southeast NC near the coast and we expect storms, not that we welcome them. We have experienced flooding in our area but our farm has always been spared. This has been heartbreaking to see what has happened to western NC to Tennessee. We are praying for everyone and sending relief. 🙏🏼
So enjoy your hands on real life living off the land. Have you ever salt cured bacon? I have always said if you have a big garden space, chickens, hogs and a milk cow. You rarely need a grocery store. Would so love to sit down at your homegrown meals. So proud for y'all!
Glad you're all OK. I'm sort of a neighbor outside Franklin NC and oddly enough, we did not lose power but we did lose cell service and internet. Just got phone back yesterday and got Internet back this morning so I'm "doing my rounds" lol! Again, so glad you are all OK!! ❤❤
We seem to be in a donut hole here in our little portion of East Tenn. Little Pigeon river was out of its banks but not more than we havent seen many times before. Three dams in other areas around us were in danger of breach, releasing water as fast as they could. Our dam decided to release as much as possible in case those other dams failed. I never saw any trees down but im sure there were. We still have power amazingly. Praying for western North Carolina. They announced that ALL roads were officially closed. I usually drive there via I-40 and that washed out so it will be quite a while before I can go that way again. Havent heard when the Smoky Mountain National Park will reopen.
Glad you guys are save, so is Jason so now I wait for Justin. I live in NC 40 miles north of Charlotte, and what happened to the mountain area is so sad. Prayers for all impacted by this storm.
So thankful ya'll are ok. Praying for all those impacted by Helene. Not looking forward to the predicted storm coming un the next couple of weeks. Stay safe

I'm glad you all are ok. You are definitely blessed. Good job helping your neighbors. That's how the good Lord intended it to be.
I laughed at your wood chip comment. I had actually been thinking the same thing. I'm glad you guys are ok.

What meat is it?
I didnt realize how much I cared about your family until Helene hit.
Me too, until we finally heard something! …no power will do it every time.
So thankful you all are OK! Keeping everyone, that was affected, in our prayers!
So thankful you all are okay
